Steve F has one review on Unilocal and Christine M lives in Bellevue(notice the address of these cleaners?)…wonder if they were asked by ownership for a 5 star review? Curious… No surprise the only other review is a bad experience. My wife asked me to drop off a simple dress here to get cleaned. They said it would be ready in a few days and it would be $ 18. I commented to the curmudgeonly man behind the counter that seemed pretty steep to clean a simple dress. He got offended and rudely suggested I take it up with the owner if I had a problem. Under a time constraint I elected to leave it there for cleaning. When my wife went to pick up the dress the same troll behind the counter asked her if I was her husband and said he hoped I never spoke to her the way I spoke to him. Excuse me? First, is that even remotely your business? Second, he was the one who got cross with me! The whole experience was rot with disdain for the customer. No surprise we’ve never returned and steered friends away from this place.

Sad to say, I have to disagree with Stephen B. Here was my experience with Northeast Cleaners: I recently took some slacks and a wool/cashmere jacket in for cleaning. About a week later I picked up the items and didn’t notice anything unusual. However, when I put on the jacket a couple of days later, I noticed that the zipper pull was missing. When I was able to go back to the shop several days later, I was relieved when the person at the counter said that they would take care of it. I came back to pick up the coat a few days later, expecting to find the zipper fixed, only to be told that all they had done was to look around the shop for the zipper pull, which they couldn’t find. So sorry! Oh, but they had a recommendation for another shop that I could take my jacket for repair. Seriously??? WTF??? So, there I sit, with my damaged jacket. No refund, no discount on future dry cleaning, no NOTHING! IMO — this is what separates REAL customer service providers from the pretenders. Anyone can offer and claim good customer service when everything goes as planned. That’s easy. Real customer service is revealed(or NOT) when problems happen. And you know problems will come up eventually. Northeast Cleaners SHOULD have had my jacket repaired, even if it cost them a few bucks to do it, knowing that they would make it up in the long run with a dedicated customer, that lives in the area, and that uses dry cleaning services frequently. Instead, they have someone who will never go back and who will tell anyone that listens not to go there, either. So, Northeast Cleaners clearly fails the customer service test. I won’t go back and you shouldn’t go there, either, unless you’re willing to risk your fine clothes with someone who will take your money, damage your clothes, and fail to stand behind their service.
