I tend to use the 7 Academy in bursts… I’ll go in several times in a row, then will decide to find a better stylist to work with, but usually after a few visits to the new stylist I can’t handle the expense of it and end up back at 7 Academy. I’ve never had a bad experience here, I guess that’s why I keep coming back… but I don’t necessarily leave the salon feeling like a million bucks… so I guess that’s why I keep searching for another salon chair to call home. The price is right, that’s really the only reason to come here. Definitely plan for an hour longer than they tell you it will be… my appts are usually 2 – 3 hours.

I, like many others, went in as a hair-model for an all over-color. Meghan was so sweet and did such a great job!

Obviously since this is an academy, it is a hit or miss spot. I have had multiple fantastic experiences, and one devestating experience. I suggest that if you are not looking for a drastic change, that many of the stylists are proficient at basic dye and cut jobs, but if you are changing from light to dark or dark to light, or want a lot of length off your hair, I would suggest going to a more expensive spot. The one great thing about the academy is that they use all of the 7 line hair products which are amazing. I currently use the sun spray everyday and it makes my hair soft, without weighing it down.

The woman who answers the phone is one of the least helpful receptionists ever. And she’s rude. After you make an appointment, they tell you they will give you a reminder call, but they don’t. If you schedule with a specific person, they’ll switch you to someone else without asking. Services aren’t free, so they should really let you know they’re doing this. The stylists themselves are hit or miss, and everything takes much longer than they tell you it will. My hair cut took an hour and 40 minutes, but I do like it. At a regular salon my haircuts last maybe 30 minutes.

Last week I went in to be a hair model, and had the best foil that I have ever received in my entire life. Nicole rocked my socks off with her depth of conversation(not just the shallow weather talk here), her sensitivity to the stressful drive I had(awesome head massage, thank you), and color marking and applying skills. Did I mention this is the school for 7 Salon? Yeah, and I’ve been here before, and felt like I was at a school, this time — I lucked out and got the grand master, Nicole. She’s doing it right in my book. I’ll admit a secret in writing this review: Yes, my hair has been turning silver for quite some time. I’ve had colors and foils and you could still see the distinct change in color over time. With Nicole’s skills, and my request to blend in the color with my natural silvering process so I can begin growing it out naturally without hiding it, I now have the most amazing color in my hair and a lot of it is natural. Nicole, tell your instructors and employer that you should graduate with honors and high recommendations and be a mentor for all of the other students. Slam, bam, all net, you scored a three pointer with me!

Not sure why Unilocal says Seven Academy is closed, because I just got my hair cut there. .. Anyway, I love going to Seven Academy. The students are all really excited to work with you to give you what you want, and the instructors really know hair. As a woman on a budget, I’ve been going to Seven Academy for years and always leave happy with my hair. I recently got my haircut by Amy, under the watchful eye of Graeme. Best haircut ever! All my friends are complimenting me, it is easy to take care of and perfect for my lifestyle. Pros: Super Cheap Clean, professional, fun Cutting edge style(no pun intended) The instructors are very talented teachers and hair artists. Your haircut will be flattering to your face structure and suitable for your hair type. Cons: Takes a bit longer than a normal haircut.(I consider this a pro, because I love to be pampered, but I know some people are pressed for time.) Thank you Graeme and Amy!

There is on stylist I highly recommend her name is Kylie I have been with her for almost a year,(I had her when she first joined the academy). She listens to what you want, and goes with it. Yes you have to be patient they are training,(they already have their licences they are doing this to work at the 7 salon) However; the trainees come and make sure what the stylist is going to do would be a good idea or not. Kylie is always right on the ball. I have fun with her coloring my hair, each time I go, I change my hair color, and no my hair doesn’t fall out because it is done with quality coloring. If you want quality with a less pricey, price, then go to the academy to get your hair done today!

I don’t know what I was thinking. I don’t know why I decided to go through with it. I have a regular hair stylist, she does a great job. Why o’ why did I cheat? What a terrible mistake, and now my self esteem is paying the price — ugh! When she asked me if I was a Twilight Fan, I should have just bolted for the door. When I realized she needed to talk to 2 of her instructors before getting started on a «trim,» again, I should have bolted for the door. I must have been dizzy from the heat, and needed the rest… Me: I just want a small, small, small trim, I am trying to grow my hair out. Her: No problem. Easy stuff. I am an expert, meticulous, blah, blah, blah-bitty, blah. End result/Two hours later: Two inches missing in some places, choppy pieces, different lengths and a terrible shape. I actually asked her WTF are you doing? That is no where close to what I discussed with you, it looks like you are CUTTING my hair into a stupid inverted bob type hair cut… I was met with an «oh no, I am just trimming off the ends.» Interesting. Does your mom know you’re a big fat liar? Um — it’s not rocket science. If I could take my own head off and give myself a haircut, without a single day of training, I could do a better job than you. The 8 year old next door could most likely do a better job than you did, in fact I would put money on that. I am really not that mad, I did it to myself. I had faith that the tween cutting my hair was actually breathing and could understand English. My mistake. It will never happen again. And unfortunately, while I don’t like generalizing too much, it is tooooo true; you certainly do get what you pay for! If hideous haircuts are your thing, and you want to consistently feel bad about yourself for months to come, go on, give the SEVEN Academy try. I personally wouldn’t bat an eye if that place burned to the ground. Ended up with a terrible haircut, the complete opposite, as in polar opposite, of what I said I wanted. .
