People this is not good boba at all! Have you ever been outside the county for real boba? One the cups they leak and overflow — yes I am wearing part of mine The boba — not soft or silky like they should be No menu that discusses ice amount or level of sweetness The flavors are very non traditional The environment is boring Yucky!

Worst and most expensive boba drink I’ve ever had. The pearls were very unappetizing and the drink took way too long for them to make. On the up side, they are very nice.

Forget Jamba Juice! This place rocks with its über fresh smoothies made with real fresh fruit and of course boba. Employees are super friendly too. A medium size drink is reasonably priced at $ 4.25.

who knew, turns out boba is pretty great. it probably has more sugar than I should be ingesting, but man it is delicious. protip: don’t inhale the boba, you don’t want to aspirate it.

The good news is, I’ve come here three times, and every time it gets a little bit better. The first time we came, right after it opened, the boba was gushy and unappetizing, their mocha machine was broken, and the smoothie with boba I got was absolutely disgusting. I don’t know how you mix up various fruits to make it taste like pulpy water, but it did. The second time I got an almond milk tea. The boba was still too soft for my liking, and the almond tea itself, while much better than the smoothie, was sort of watery and not sweet. The third time, I got a green milk tea. Again, it was a bit watery and sweet, but the boba was much better and firmer. So, while the boba is inconsistent, it at least seems to be getting better. My sister got the mocha the second and third times, and the mocha is ABSOLUTELYDELICIOUS. How do they make their coffee so good??? What the heck??? I could drink one of those every morning if I didn’t know that they’re probably terrible for you. Even without the boba, the mocha would be outstanding, and adding in good boba just makes it that much better(good the third time, at least). I’m not sure, but I think they lowered their prices by the third time I was there. The first and second time, the prices were outstandingly high. More than $ 11 for two bobas??? No. When we came back for the third time, they were both $ 4, which is much more reasonable.

First time coming here, I ordered a jasmine milk tea with coconut milk, it was completely unsweetened and tasted terrible. I tried again another time but ordered a jasmine milk tea with almond milk instead, but for some reason it was still disgustingly bitter; I don’t know why substituting the milk with nondairy would make it okay to leave my drink unsweetened? very disappointed and would not recommend getting anything with their jasmine green tea

The Thai Boba was exactly what I expected. The flavor was spot on and the Boba was the right amount of chewy. The guy behind the counter was nice and quick. I did not have to wait long at all. The price was about what I expect from Boba places. I would come back again for sure.

I love this place. The Thai tea boba was delicious! It’s hard to find a place that sells good boba and this place is amazing!!! I would highly recommend this place to all my boba lovers out there! I will continue to come here in the future

I was really excited a boba store was opening in scotts valley. The staff here are friendly, great customer service, but the menu is a little confusing. The Thai tea boba I got was WAYTOO sweet. I could only drink a few sips before I had to throw it away. Im not a boba expert or anything, but I do luv boba. Just not this boba.

Waste of money. Feels like a waiting room(and you will be waiting). Strangely inefficient even though there seemed to be multiple employees. The pearls are small and lack texture and sweetness. The tea is strong, which I consider a plus, but flavors(which they will charge you for) are drowned out. Zero creaminess. The staff seemed apathetic and distracted. Save yourself the heartache and either go downtown for boba or over the hill.

I got what I always order anytime I get boba, a lightly sweetened Jasmine milk tea with Boba but it was nothing like what I have gotten anywhere. Firstly, It didn’t taste like Jasmine at all. It tasted like bitter watery milk. Leaving a bad taste in your mouth. Then the boba. Some were crunchy, some you couldn’t even chew, some some were hard but you could kinda chew them. But none were cooked right. I like my boba kinda soft and chewy. Lastly, Way over priced for the quality of the product. I go to call them to give them feed back. Their Unilocal says they are open til 9. I call them at 8:10. Ringing. ringing, no answer, went to message. I give them a few minutes and call back. 8:15. Still no answer and to message again. Are they really closed early? It’s like 50 minutes early. So, moral of the story, I’m sticking to Boba Cruz.

«I Love Boba» No statement could be truer than this for me. Unfortunately, this place made me doubt this statement. First off all, the price was not reflective of the quality of the drinks. I would have been fine paying $ 10 for two drinks if they were actually good. I ordered my usual for any boba place: strawberry and mango black tea, no milk, with boba. The taste matched the color: funky. The drink had little to no taste, and the taste it did have was not good at all. It didn’t have a sweet artificial taste like many other places, or an authentic, fresh fruit taste like others. The closest description would be bland yet still gross. After drinking it a few times hoping the taste would get better, I felt sick. The taste did not settle with me at all. I would give the place one star, but the boba itself was a decent consistency and taste. Luckily, I do not live in the area and have much better options than this. However, even if I did, I would not be coming back.

I have had boba all over the bay and at its birthplace in Asia– this place does not know boba. The owners are nice enough and customer service is decent, so one star for that. I ordered a coconut milk tea with pearl because they did not have taro at the time. The tea was strong to the point where it was bitter and the coconut flavor tasted like Torani’s. The pearls were somehow cooked to the point where they clogged the straw after several sips and essentially became the straw that broke the camel’s back. On top of all that, the medium drink cost about $ 5. The authentic places in SF charge half that! Finally, I heard that this place tried to extract their own flavorings. Ambitious but completely defeats the idea of great boba– please don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Boba was completely perfected before it hit the US so the hard work has already been completed. My advice to the owners is to evaluate & learn from places like TPumps and Verde Tea over on the peninsula/South Bay. Then you might have a chance at being successful.

Really not sure why this place has such a high rating, but maybe I need to give this place a second chance? I went here today after eating at the sushi restaurant next door, after seeing the amazing reviews, there was 0 chance I would turn down boba after dinner. I ordered the thai tea, 16oz, and it cost me a little over four dollars after tax(4.32 I think?). I’ve had a lot of thai tea in my life and this was good at all. The flavor itself was okay but it left a really off aftertaste; the boba pearls were overcooked or were sitting in liquid for too long, making it «soggy» and quite frankly there wasn’t enough boba in the drink. My friends tasted the thai tea and agreed it tasted off, left a powder aftertaste. Also, to whoever said this place has a lot of options has never been to Quickly’s or Tastea or basically any other«mainstream» «traditional» boba place. There’s 2 menu boards and I estimate that there’s about 20+ something drinks to choose from(not all of it is boba though, they have smoothies and other things). Their traditional boba choices is limited to about 10ish options. Other than the drinks their store itself felt very empty and awkward – probably because they’re still new and in the process of adding décor? I’m not knocking off any stars for their décor, just felt like it was worth mentioning. Pros: –They sell desserts(brownies, cookies, etc.) –The cashier was really nice Cons: –Limited options and not so great thai tea –The place felt very awkward

Great place! All the flavors are made from scratch and there’s LOTS of options. They even make the pastries. They have a loyalty card too, good deal. We had Thai tea and my little one had milk with food coloring-free flavor. Super great customer service. Glad to have good Boba available!

5 stars for customer service: I wanted to give I Luv Boba another chance after a bad first experience. I ordered my go-to drink(the same thing I ordered last time) — thai tea. They have obviously improved since their previous recipe and are listening to customer feedback. Although they admittedly couldn’t blend the drink like I ordered it, they apologized and gave us a full refund. Plus, they offered to remake the drink if I was unhappy with it. They are obviously trying their best and want their customers to be happy. I was so thankful for their graciousness which makes up for whatever may be lacking in the teas. 4 stars for berry smoothie: I didn’t taste this but my husband and son did. Both of them said it was good. It was less sweet than a typical smoothie but maybe by adding a sweeter fruit to it, it would round it out a little better. 3.5 stars for thai boba tea: Much improved from the watered down version I first had. It has a nice flavor. It is missing a thickness/richness…but with the quick improvement from last week to this week, I’m sure they can tweak it again and perfect it. 3 stars for tropic thunder boba tea: My husband gives this a solid 3 stars but I tasted it and would give it a 2.5 as the flavor was still pretty watery, the green tea in it was slightly bitter, and it wasn’t sweet enough. Again, there is a thick component and depth of flavor missing. Overall, a huge improvement. I’m confident they can make it even better the next time!

This place is doing very well for a bran new business in scotts valley. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The décor is new, clean, and inviting. If they make you a drink and you don’t think it’s exactly what you want, they will gladly make you something to your profection. The team in this place is very very open to suggestion and advise and are motivated to make the shop perfect for all the local boba enthusiast. The other reviews are pretty harsh for a business that’s been open for less than a week. I think this place has a ton to offer and I’m confident it will thrive in the community. I LUVBOBA is awesome.

UPDATEDREVIEW: This place is great now! Updating my review because they made several changes and improvements that make my old review totally inaccurate. I came back with some friends because I really wanted to change my mind and I’m glad I did. The tea is not watery anymore. We all got tea and it was on point. They fixed the recipe from the first week and the tea tastes great now. It’s proper boba tea, with just the right thickness and perfect pearls. They also make all of their own syrups/flavors in house, which is impressive! There is a good selection of suggested flavors, and plenty of options for custom flavors. There are also two kinds of pearls, regular, and«bursting», which has some sort of blueberry flavor on the inside. There are special flavors available and new ones coming as well. They have plans to add Taro flavor and other things in house as well. So as far as taste goes, it’s great! I also ordered once of their Acai«bowls». They call it «bowls» because it comes in cups, not bowls. This makes it sort of inconvenient to mix, but it’s not the worst. The Acai bowls come with frozen Acai fruit, granola, banana and strawberry slices(and, optionally, honey). If you want something changed, say something. They’re open to ideas and changes. I have not yet tried the pastries, smoothies or coffee drinks yet, so I’ll have to come back for those, but they looks solid. The owner/workers are very friendly and open to input, which is great for a new business. They changed several things since my last review. The place no longer feels like a waiting room. They reorganized the couches so there are individual sections. There are no more sports illustrated magazines. The pictures on the walls are all straightened out, and they plan to add some more pictures that fit the theme a bit better. It all feels much more comfortable now. They could use a few more tables and chairs, but I imagine that will come in time. Having chairs in addition to couches is nice in case a large group comes in and needs to move things around to accommodate their size, or if more than 3 groups come in at once. Some outdoor seating might be nice too, especially when the warmer months come. I hope my previous review doesn’t stop people from trying this place out, because it’s well worth it now. It’s much better after getting over the first week, and still has a lot of potential for improvement. I highly recommend it.
