After driving 45 minutes to get there, I had trouble finding it. It was behind a Quail Run Lodge. When I first walked inside, everyone kept staring at me. I felt disoriented because there was no cashier inside the buffet restaurant. I had to go back to the kitchen area in order to get take out. One of the chef walked out and asked if i was getting take out. I said, yeah and he quickly gave me three containers. NOTE to self If you’re getting take-out do not come here for their buffet, you will be greatly disappointed. He grabbed one of my big containers and ask me what i wanted to put in there. Usually, other buffet places let you put whatever and as many food as you want in your container. NOPE you choose what you wanted, and the chef put how much food he put in there. This ruined it for me, because you are caught off guard. Furthermore i was rushed to choose the type of food. The customers sitting at the buffet table started snickering when they saw the chef putting food into my container because what type of buffet does this shhhhii… Thus, this place is NOT really a buffet, but more of a cafeteria style. There was limited amount of food because they only had 3 «cafeteria» bars. One was cooked meals, salad, and dessert bar. So, for my small two little containers i get to pick whichever food i want. NOPE that was not there concept. I don’t eat salad, nor do i want dessert. I only had one goal and that was the shrimp gumbo. I placed the shrimp gumbo in both of my little containers. One of the server walked up to me and said, ‘For future reference you can’t place shrimp gumbo in the dessert and salad container, our manager’s policy.“ Well, I DIDN“T see you labeled any of the containers«salad» or dessert”. It’s not the staffs fault, it’s the manager’s policy which was rotten to the core. This is NOT a BUFFET, more like a hostile environment and they should rename it to something that seems like walking into a bank robbery. The cashier was located inside the lodge.(not the«cafeteria» place) She kept staring at me, looking at my containers, i know she wanted to say something but hold back on it. IF she did say anything, I would have just left all 3 of my containers there and walked out the door. Conviction– The fried chicken was crispy and season good on the outside, but after taking a deeper bite, the inside was very bland. I regret getting so much of the shrimp gumbo because not only did it tasted like eating a bottle of ketchup, the shrimps were tiny microscopic amoeba. They were being cheap on their shrimp. Heck for future reference I won’t be coming back. You can keep your bland food, and your boorish policy because most buffets waste all their food. It’s not like all your staff can eat it all. Do not call this place a buffet, it’s more of an insult to all buffets out there.

My aunt and uncle introduced us to this authentic southern buffet that is ridiculously good. Don’t mention the cheap price, only $ 9 a person with drink included. The fried chicken is juicy and perfectly fried, sides are all great. I would definitely recommend y’all come try this place if you’re ever in savannah.

This is a great home cooked southern eatery! Stopped to eat here based solely on reviews. Definitely not disappointed.
