We came here on a Monday night, so naturally it was a little slow. That being said, we still had an amazing time mostly due to the great service. Diamond, our bartender, was probably one of the most sociable and down-to-earth people we’ve met, and she gave us great recommendations about where to go in Savannah food/bar-wise(I’m from out of town, so this helped a lot). On top of that, the people at the bar with us were just as friendly and willing to help. I’m not sure if I’m just freaking out about typical instances of southern hospitality, but this bar in particular and the people in it were great.

Pretty fun place unless it’s overcrowded then it’s hard to get a drink in this place. Not the friendliest staff but the drinks aren’t too bad and reasonably priced.

I sent the owner an email concerning my dissatisfaction with this bar after being assaulted by one of his bartenders after she tried to steal a $ 400LED hula hoop from me and tried to hide it behind the bar. The owner replied that I was at fault for going behind the bar to retrieve my property. Do not support this horrible establishment

I’m a fan of dancing. Sometimes, I’d like to think that dancing fancies me as well. Bar Bar on the lucky Saturday night reassures me that there is a place for dancing fools like me. As a bar, this place is very impressive. It’s located in City Market and has not one, or two, but three bar spaces and a dance floor. It’s located underneath the street and conveniently tucked away from all craziness upstairs. I think I love Bar Bar simply for the large dance room in the back. It’s a hit or miss most times, but when it hits, it’s a fun place to let loose with friends. Check it out if you’re feeling wild and free.

I planned a trip with some friends to come back to Savannah for St. Patrick’s Day — I hadn’t been in town for this holiday since college(8 years ago) so we were pretty excited to come celebrate with family that lives here. We headed downtown and one of the first bars that’s still here from the«old days» is Bar Bar. I remembered it used to be a fun bar with a good crowd so we headed there. Within 5 minutes, I was horrified. Mind you, I worked in the service industry as a bartender for several years and we were sober, politely waiting for a bartender to free up. I asked the first bartender a question and she blatantly ignored me so we continued to wait for another. A guy came over and took our order. Ok, cool. He then turns around and says«hold on» and appears to go chat up some girl and pours her drink next. Ok, so we wait a little longer. He comes over, pours our drinks and I hand him my card and he tells me it’s a $ 10 minimum so I think he’s opening my tab. I was wrong. He comes back, and I ask to order two more beers and he tells me again it’s a $ 10 minimum and hands me my CLOSED out tab from the first 3 drinks. I say«Ok well I wasn’t done ordering and the entire order is well over $ 10». He glares at me and says«Well YOU didn’t specify» so I politely reply, «You didn’t ask, I didn’t know you were closing this out». He instantly flips and snaps at me «I’LLJUSTBUYYOUR F*CKINGDRINKS» and slams two beers down in front of us. I have never been treated so poorly at any bar. We were planning to order more drinks but were so disgusted that we just left and took our money to another venue that appreciated our business. If you’re looking for the worst service in Savannah then sure, go here — but I’d recommend the Social Club or Hang Fire where we enjoyed the rest of our evening with fabulous staff.

A fine establishment. Be sure to check out the board games and the dollar bill hanging that says kiss me. Mistletoe all the way around. Got a bourbon on the rocks. Too much ice but that’s typical of bars. Generous pour and good prices.

Awful place. Awful atmosphere. Went here twice(not by choice) and can definitely say it is not worth a visit.

The bouncers were probably 2 of the most condescending people I’ve met in my life. Seriously dudes? We’re on a pub crawl for charity & you’re hassling us? We’re loud & friendly of course, but in no way disrespectful. We had more fun in the courtyard area outside this place honestly.

Really dope bar. Nice place to go on a first date to break the ice or hang out with friends. Once you walk in you can’t help but notice the boardgames on the shelf. Laid back vibe for every crowd.

I like the place for a slower night. Service can be slow on a busy night(like any bar) and the crowd does seem a little rowdy at times(like many bars in savannah) but overall I really like the place. Has a great feel, cozy and tucked away. Drinks are really strong if you’re in to liquor. Try dk have a small dance floor that’s fun to step in to every once in a while. The bar itself is underground, and it has three separate bars within so it offers a few places to sit. I’d definitely suggest this place for a weeknight if you enjoy chill relaxing bars. Staff is professional. Went there with my wife one night and the bartender took some time to try mixing a few new(to us) drinks for us and explained what was in them etc. def worth a try :)

My husband and I ended up here the first night of our vacation because it was pouring rain and this place was the closest bar to our hotel. Because of the rain it was pretty slow, just a few people playing pool and a couple of people at the bar. The bartender was busy but got our drinks within about 5 minutes. He wasn’t chatty or particularly friendly, but he did his job. I did really like the ambiance of the place and it was pretty big. I liked the different rooms and I really loved the board games they have there. I get restless pretty easily and hate just sitting at a bar. I love that they have board games to keep me entertained. I did like this place and would return but not if I had to fight crowds or wait more than 10 minutes for a drink.

This place is okay for a kind of dive bar/dance club. We went on a Friday night and there was no cover. They were playing what seemed to be hip-hop/90’s music. When my sister-in-law made a song request, the DJ said he wasn’t allowed to play rap music. That’s fine but it was a bit puzzling when the mix he played next had an old 50 Cent song. Regardless, it is wasn’t a bad place to hang out at.

Very packed as was every other place on New Year’s Eve. Located in the City Market area which had many shops, restaurants, and bars. Neat bar as it is underground and constructed of stone, brick, and concrete throughout, creating a cool, laid back atmosphere. We found a table near the pool tables to drink our beers over a game of Jenga. They had a bookshelf full of games. There were two different full bar setups. The layout was neat because there were a few different rooms including one that was a dance floor with colored lights. Enjoyed the chill, casual atmosphere. Limited beer selection; full bar setup.

Made it back to Savannah last week and of course had to stop in at the Bar Bar. I have to say this was the best service I have ever received there. Not once did I have to wave someone down to get a drink. I don’t know if they hired new bartenders or what, but absolutely stellar service this trip. I also finally remembered to get my dollar bill up, so look for one that says«Detroit Rock City!» in red.

Came with my husband for drinks and dancing. Not my scene. I don’t mind clubs, so that wasn’t the issue. The Bar Bar is a basement sports bar that’s ideal for large groups of guys and groups of girls who want to dance with said guys. Definitely an army bar. The bartender was friendly enough, though her attitude understandably waned as we watched several guys stumble up to the bar, interrupt her, and bark out commands… and then leave no tip. The macho man show was just not for me. The drinks were cheap and the dance floor was pretty well packed as soon as it opened, so if you want to go out dancing in a group, it’s a fine choice. It just didn’t have a lot of personality or charm… just a lot of testosterone. We won’t be back.

Someone needs to shoot the DJ at this place. This place has potential. It has the basement party look but the music has to be a whole lot better. Drinks are pretty cheap in price. It is a place you want to get shitfaced before you go to the main spot. It can be easily missed if you don’t notice people down the stairs. The bartending does suck in there and doesn’t have a grip on the operations of the customers. Grade: C
