Located in front of the beach, Sun On the Beach is a cute little breakfast spot with beautiful views. I’m a self proclaimed eggs benedict expert so when I saw all the delicious sounding benedicts on the menu, I decided this was the place for me! They had some interesting sounding benedicts(like a fried chicken bene, um WHAT?!) but I decided to just go with a good olé’ traditional because I thought that would be a good gauge to how well their benes are. The traditional was pretty good. I think I’ve been spoiled with some of the great breakfast spots near me that have some amazing benes. What threw me off though were the home fries that came with them. They were large chunks that had no seasoning, flavor. character, backstory… they had nothing. I love potatoes so I will say that potatoes shouldn’t be treated like that. They need love and spices! Say it with me: A bland potato is a sad potato. My parents were dining with me on this trip and I will say that their meals were really good. The pancakes were fantastic; fluffy and sweet. The shrimp and grits had a good spice to it and was very flavorful. Overall it’s a pretty solid breakfast place, the eggs benedict just didn’t live up to my expectations and the home fries were a story I wish to forget.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times. The breakfast is good, and the outdoor seating really makes the experience. With a view of the ocean while you eat really makes it such a good experience. Been here with friends for morning mimosas and I’ve been here with my daughter for a relaxing dining experience. Both times, it’s been good.

Amazing breakfast! Looks like a hole in the wall front out front and really not much to look at inside either but the food is so good! You can sit inside or out back. Seat yourself at any clean table. Plentiful portions but not wasteful. Would definitely go back.

I hate leaving one star reviews, but I can’t think of any reason to leave more than that. Boyfriend and I do quite a bit of traveling and of all the places we’ve had breakfast, I have never left feeling let down and unsatisfied until this place. I am not a picky person or even a picky eater, but our whole experience here was unacceptable. We walked in and no one really made a move toward us so I asked the nearest person if we should just sit or wait to be seated. Without looking up, she said sarcastically, «Well if there’s a table open, you can sit. If not, you wait.» By golly, is that how it works? I ignored her and went to sit and of course she ended up being our waitress. Service was very slow, but it was a Saturday morning so I get it. I ordered biscuits and gravy and hashbrowns: gravy was watery, tasted like pepper, and had two small pieces of sausage. The hashbrowns tasted burnt. Boyfriend’s French toast was burnt on one side and DRY. We ate as much as we could tolerate so we wouldn’t be hungry and left. Guys, don’t go here. It’s not worth it.

I had the eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes and shrimp along with their specialty grits. It was amazing. Great treat both for locals and entertaining guests who want to try something different

OMG!!! Im noticing a lot of the good reviews are from a long time ago. And a long time ago it was a great place! I went there recently after many years of not going and was so disappointed I didn’t even eat the food. Eggs over medium were crusted on the white part and undercooked in the middle… Home fries? I guarantee this cook has no idea what home fries are? What I got was skin on potatoes boiled in water and then dropped in the deep fryer. Corned beef hash was what made me leave this place never to return… Burnt, dry, tasteless, no hash? And to top it all off it was $ 12.00 Lets face it we don’t mind spending the money when its good… etc. I left there believing that $ 12 was a donation To a place that needed it to survive… My advice to them is to find a new cook…

Oh Yes. Kick butt place to eat breakfast. In town visiting friends and they took us to SOB. Holy SOB was it great. Really, really busy on a Sunday morning around 10:30am Parking is pretty tough. But that’s what happens when it’s a great place to eat. I’m headed back to this area for vacation in 4 weeks. I’m going to try dinner. I highly recommend. My service was really good.

This place is so busy on a Sunday. I’d go when it’s not so busy inside because the service naturally was really bad. We didn’t get coffee refills, water refills and we didn’t have anymore sugar packets but trying to get the servers attention was nearly impossible. And to get ketchup and hot sauce took long too because they were just frantically busy with line out the door. Good for the business but I wouldn’t come back here because service should match the quality of the food and that is not the case. Still gave 3 stars for the food because it was freshly made food and it did take longer which I am fine with. Service was just very disappointing… Customers don’t get looked after once order is in and the food comes out. They won’t even make eye contact with you at all lol I saw one guy get up to get the waitresses attention. Plus the food didn’t blow me away it was good but not amazing so I don’t think I’ll be back

Came here around 930am on a Saturday. The place is located right along the beach and there is parking along the back as well. I ordered the Munich Benedict with chicken instead of the fried potato salad t normally comes with. It came with either a biscuit or toast and I went with the biscuit. This dish came out on a bed of home fries(wedge potatoes) and some pieces of bacon with a yummy egg on top! Highly recommend this. My friend got the crab cake Benedict, was really good too(some shells were in the cake). The biscuit was a bit dry but that didn’t bother me too much. I will be back to try their waffles and crepes.

Two stars for the beautiful view of the ocean. Terrible food and service costs them the other three stars. I will never come back here. I came the Monday after Mothers Day and that special still hadn’t been removed from their menu– which doesn’t bother me but the waitresses were complaining about it. It’s sad because this place is in a location that people would flock too, just for the view. Unfortunately, the food is just terrible. They set your plate in front of you and it tastes like they don’t care. I had biscuits and gravy– with stale biscuits. They were out of hashbrowns… Not sure how a breakfast place runs out of hashbrowns… Poor planning I guess. Please clean this place up and start serving good food!!!

Now this place rocks my taste buds excellent home cooked food. Their biscuits are to die for. They make an ordinary meal look and taste extraordinary. I highly recommend this place. I’d give them 10 Stars if I could.

This was our second visit here and it was just a good as the last time we came. The crab cake Benedict was cooked perfectly and had great flavor(the choices for Benedicts are awesom). The 2 eggs, 2 pancakes(blueberry) and bacon was phenomenal. We also had a half pitcher of mimosas that did not disappoint. We’ll definitely be coming back and would recommend this place to everyone.

My experience was bittersweet. Went for brunch on Saturday and it was busy! Not surprised at all so I wasn’t worried about that. They seemed rushed which you hate to see, but my waitress was very pleasant. I sat on the back patio which last time was just a few picnic tables now has a really nice patio section. I ordered the banana nut waffle because it was so highly recommended by friends. It was! SOOOO Good. If you like bananas and waffles. It was a normal waffle but the banana was creamy and fluffy really good. I ordered a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. That’s where it got bitter. The bacon seemed like it was cooked in old dirty oil. It didn’t taste like good olé bacon. The eggs didn’t look like scrambled eggs. Looked like a fried egg. I picked it up to put it in my to go box and the bottom leaked down my arm. It was gross.

Had breakfast here while on vacation. The food was just okay. The waitress rarely came back I had to track her down to get a refill on coffee. When she brought the coffee pot to refill my cup it was the last bit in the pot.(scorched coffee).

In preparation for my trip to Orlando, I Unilocaled breakfast places by the beach and this place popped up. I initially chose it because of its wide array of eggs Benedict dishes, but was more than pleasantly surprised. At first glance it looks like just any small restaurant in a strip mall, but looks were deceiving as it was very spacious and had a lovely outdoor patio with a view of the ocean. My server was Danielle, who despite having a full section treated EVERYONE as if they were her only customer. She was friendly, patient, and extremely hard working. The food was great! I had a Florentine Benedict and it was cooked excellent, all the way down to the English muffin! Bottom line, if I’m back in town, I will be back!

The setting alone hear makes it worth coming to sit and have a cup coffee overlooking the ocean. The food overall was very good, and the staff is great. We had a party of(4) and ordered omelet, waffles, and basic egg and bacon breakfast. Everything was cooked and seasoned nicely, and the portion sizes for the prices were very fair. The have several breakfast options so there is something for everyone. My understanding its the only breakfast place that is right on the beach. If you can get a patio table you wont be disappointed. Get here early on the weekend is the get very busy after about 9:00am.

The eggs Benedict Munich style is amazing however the rest of the menu that I have tried I was not overly impressed by. The location close to the ocean is fantastic but be prepared for parking issues when arriving at a busy time. The restaurant itself is usually a bit on the dirty side and the rest room the one time I used it was discussing. That all being said as long as they don’t change the Munich I will keep coming back.

Found a real jewel on the ocean for breakfast! Old school diner that looks unimpressive from the parking lot, but looks are definitely deceiving. It is right on the ocean, and we were able to witness the day begin through the mirrored glass. Sarah was our waitress, and she was very attentive, as well as, friendly. Ordered Indian River Omelette with Mahi Mahi and Blue Crab. OMG. Delicious. In addition, we ordered a half Georgian Waffle with fresh peaches, pecans, and whipped cream. Double OMG. great place to start the day.

When you think of a place to eat on the beach — something casual and filling — this is the place. Went for breakfast and had to wait 3 – 5 minutes for a table. It is «sit at any clean table» place, but we were third in line for Saturday breakfast rush. Meghan was our server and she couldn’t be nicer or more helpful! I have to say — if you have a good server that is always ½ the experience. We lucked out! Mom ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy and a side or corned beef hash. She liked the biscuits but thought the gravy needed more seasoning. She liked the hash, but it didn’t have enough potato to hold it together. I had the Southern Benedict and a side of bacon. I didn’t like the texture of the broiled tomato but the biscuit, country ham, poached egg, and gravy was yummy! Interesting twist on Eggs Benedict. I will say that the country ham was on the saltier side — but when u get ham you run a risk of that. The bacon was not too crisp and it was flat — just the way I like my bacon. Most of all — not only was the sweet tea good, but Meghan gave me a huge«to go» cup as well The two of us had a very filling breakfast for $ 28 bucks. I would go back to try breakfast again — or even the rest of the menu. Everything that walked by on the way to other tables looked so good!

Love that this place is right next to the beach. You can see the water through the windows and there is also outdoor seating. It was a very peaceful early morning breakfast. We loved watching the sun come up while we waited for our food. Our waitress was very sweet and our food was good. The portions were huge and each thing was on point. Can’t wait to go back.
