I’m a big fan of The Imaginists and their teeny tiny art space over in the SOFA district. Their plays are typically centered around political satire or eccentric takes on old stories. The acting is top notch for community theater and the costuming is great. The atmosphere, along with wine and bakery sales makes attending a show such fun. I advise fans to call the directors before attending performances with children. Most are on the darker side with occasional nudity and typically have screaming and profanity. I am a huge advocate for community theater and I think it is important that people know this is generally adult-oriented material.

I would love to see them perform but I cannot find a schedule or location for the performances.

Without question the best theatre company around — Santa Rosa or otherwise. I’ve been patiently waiting for my children to become old enough to join. The Imaginists is a guarantee — I know that if I make it to a show, I’ll love it, regardless of the topic. And chances are, I’ll leave feeling more educated and enlightened than when I came in.

Always thought provoking often magical. A delightful change from the rest of the SR theater scene. Truly independent theater.
