We came on a very busy friday night. 25 minute wait for a table, so we went into the bar to drink before dinner. Bartenders were very nice, offered chips and salsa complimentary while we had a few drinks and waited for our tables. When we got seated in the restaurant, we thought that it was really, very large, but in fact, they have mirrors on the walls in the dining room to open the space up and make it look larger. Good little trick! I ordered the Beef Dorado Crispy tacos. They were good but had an interesting taste — maybe cinnamon or cardamon seasoned beef? They were not bad, but it was a very strong flavor and I wasn’t expecting that. Kitchen stops serving food at 10 pm, at about 11pm it is a club and the restaurant area closes, so keep that in mind when planning a trip here. Our server was not knowledge on the menu, and was a little bit slow, but I think she was new so we gave her the benefit of the doubt. I would return when back home in Sonoma County.

Recommended by my brother as a meeting place to kick off our vacation last summer. Just discovered I’d taken pictures of the exterior, mostly. Amazing architecture! I remember the food being plentiful and very tasty. The kids were happy with the dishes; enough to distract them from playing on cell phones. Yay! Service was good; they kept the meal moving along at a decent pace. Very impressed with the physical space — high ceilings, with a mixture of brick and wood you don’t often see in areas prone to earthquakes.

Kudos to La Rosa for accommodating our large party on a cold, and somewhat damp Thursday evening. The wait staff was gracious and gave us our space as we all got together to hug and catch up. Although we were all more interested in talking with each other than eating, we ordered from their perfectly proportioned menu. I love the fact that they took the time to really hone in on their best selections rather than having multiple pages to comb through to find that one thing you want to eat. A special note: I have to be particularly careful because of a food allergy, but everyone made absolutely sure there was no offending ingredients on my very tasty and filling taco salad. Thanks to the La Rosa team for being so accommodating! The meal was delivered quickly for all of us. Interesting to note that more than one wait staff assisted in this area, but nevertheless, it arrived in speedy fashion. Our evening was filled with laughter, great food and flowing drinks. We finished it off with a shared dessert of Mexican Chocolate Mousse. It was fantastic!(And had I known, I would have ordered one just for myself :-)…yes, it’s that good!) I think we ended up closing the restaurant, but the staff was really great about that too. Thanks so much La Rosa for making this a memorable experience!

This is only for the dance club upstairs. I have been here quite a few times to enjoy hip hop dancing and I love it. The crowd is a perfect mix and the club isn’t full of stupidly young hootchies! I love it! Shout out to Joe(front door security) — great guy!!! I look forward to going back soon!

I say 3.5 stars. Been here for drinks and they are great. Lots of variety and decent prices. Been here for food and it really is just alright. I mean, it’ll do if you are starving, but some dishes definetely need to be re-evaluated. Still, they have a few classics that won’t disappoint, and the service tends to be great. Definetely a place worth chcking aout for bar hoping or just to get the night started.

Beautiful place! Service was amazing! I missed her name which is a bummer… I had the ahi tostada, which was not bad but i would not order it again. Bean burrito was tasty and the chips and salsa were very good.

Holy Pozole! We are regulars ever since we tried their killer Pozole! They’ve got a ton of tequila and some really killer Margaritas, as well as some good beers! My favorite beer they have on tap is the negra modelo and if you get it I highly recommend you ask for it with salt and lime. My favorite tequila is the casamigo resperado! The bar has a nice chill vibe and they always have a game on. The bar itself has a nice rustic look! Their chips and salsa are very delicious. The music they play is hip and upbeat. The bartenders are very nice and very attentive!!!

Wonderful Mexican restaurant! Love most of their apps and especially their carne asada plates. Location is very pleasant as well, being downtown and close to many other bars and restaurants.

This place is an excellent alternative to Tex Wasabi across the street. We were seated & greeted quickly & I’m glad I asked our server for her suggestions. The Risotto Relleno(crab & shrimp stuffed poblano) was incredible. The chicken tortilla soup was also some of the best I’d ever had. Their house chips and salsa were fresh & tasty. Foodie tip — go easy on the appetizers & leave room for their excellent main courses.

Came here after our amazing Safari Tour. Hungry and thirsty, we picked this place because of the reviews and location. I was very impressed with their fast service, drinks and entrees came out super fast. I ordered the shrimp plate which i devoured. It was delicious, perfectly spiced and portioned. The hubby also raved about his chimichanga plate. The margaritas on the other hand were a let down. I ordered 2 and experienced 0 buzz. Overly sweet and not strong or what so ever. Now. i am no snob when it comes to cocktails but i expect somewhat of a buzz from 2 drinks. I should’ve stuck with wine but oh well. Over all our experience was good. Our waitress christina was very attentive, eager to answer questions and on point with salsa, chips and water refills which is always a plus in my book. Will be back when in the area.

Have been here three times(the last two times because a friend dragged me) and the food has never been more than mediocre. The wine I had was HORRIBLE. I have never ever sent wine back, but this was nasty — totally undrinkable. The waitress didn’t want to return it and I had to ask for the manager. I refuse to pay $ 12 for undrinkable wine — especially when we live in the midst of the world’s best wineries! I had high hopes for this place, but the food was only okay, and the cocktails and wine were not good at all. For the best Mexican food in Santa Rosa, try El Charro on Farmer’s Lane.

Decent mexican food taste, without the authenticity it seemed. We were seated in a dining room that was extremely loud so moved to a different table. The décor is chic and nice, with comfortable seating and beautiful outdoor seating options. The prickly pear martini was good and I would recommend it. The others at my table enjoyed the original house margaritas, both frozen and on the rocks. Our service was below average. Our waitress was nonexistent for the majority of our meal and we had empty waters more often than full. The waitress seemed nice, but I noticed eye rolls as she was walking away when members of my party asked for things here and there. I understand that it was busy, but it seemed a bit odd to have less than great service in a place that seemed to be run so well. Our meals were very good as a whole. Chile rellenos were amazing, Both the mole and short rib enchiladas were flavorful, and the Caesar salad was above average. shrimp tacos and gazpacho were not so thrilling. The complimentary chips and salsa were nothing to write home about, but overall we enjoyed the food, thought prices were fair and portions were perfect.

I wanted to mention that this is the very first review I have ever completed on a restaurant and because of our experience I was compelled to write this. And the reason that this review is providing one star is because my wife really enjoyed our server. The atmosphere was fine… the building was nice that’s where the good in our experience ended We were served Mexican food that… well if I could show you because I took a picture you would understand but was certainly not worthy of a repeat visit. I would not recommend visiting this restaurant for their food. Then we were served ½ shots of a super premium tequila and being charged the full price of $ 16 per shot When I disputed that the shots were in fact half shots and not full shots they presented to show me the alcohol in a half shot glass completely full. Well I ended up paying $ 64.00 for 4 –½ shots. This morning I double checked my understanding of shots which is supposed to be 1.5 ounces or 45 mL. I was correct we were overcharged and I would not recommend this restaurant for its tequila either. I believe they’re not treating their customers fairly.

Came here to relax after spending 12 days in the field for military training; was beat! So a couple of the guys came here to relax. Just from the outside, it looked nice — a lot of windows, nice decorations, friendly staff, etc. As you enter into the place, I noticed good ambience. Along with it, the place was filled with a lot of people — young, professional people… at least, it looked that way. Side note: A lot of good looking women. Where there are good looking women, there are good looking men. :-) I can’t say much about the food, but they had a good selection of drinks. The beer selection was good. Rating: Food: Don’t know. Ambience: 4 Price: 4(It is a little pricey but can’t do much.) Service: 4 Overall: 4 Definitely coming back here. next time, I will try the food.

**This is not a review of La Rosa. This is a review of the very unprofessional response the owner gave me(refer to attached picture) after I mistakenly reviewed La Rosa Tequileria, when I ate upstairs in La Rosa Lounge(which apparently is managed separately, even though they are connected)** Background story: I walked into La Rosa Tequileria with a co-worker and we were greeted by a hostess who said we could sit downstairs or upstairs. We decided to sit upstairs to watch the Warriors game(NBA finals) because there were tables that could accommodate our party of five. Long story short, we received horrible service that night(refer to my review of La Rosa Lounge), and I left a two star review of La Rosa Tequileria, as I assumed they were the same(and it seems they serve the same food, although they are separately managed, and La Rosa Lounge has much worse reviews). The next day, the owner of La Rosa Tequileria responded to my review in the most unprofessional manner I have ever seen from a restaurant owner on Unilocal. As an avid Unilocaler, I take pride in my reviews, and I take pride in what the Unilocal community seeks to do to help other Unilocalers find great local businesses. There is really no room for the disgusting response this owner gave me, following my review(refer to attached picture). This is why I am choosing to leave a two star review of this restaurant, despite the fact that I dined upstairs in La Rosa Lounge, and have not had the opportunity to dine downstairs in La Rosa Tequileria. I want to make it clear that this is not a review of the restaurant, but I do believe that the tone management sets is indicative of the culture of the business.

The kale citrus salad is served with BURNED not toasted walnuts; a waitress that argues with you before allowing me change my order, then just left us sitting outside unattended in the cold! I would have left but I’m trying to be in a celebratory mood.

Oh La Rosa, how I love thee– let me count the ways: ~Your jalapeño poppers are a party in my mouth! ~Your margaritas are a party in my mouth! ~Your salsa is my favorite,(and I’m admittedly a salsa snob) and you guessed it– party in my mouth! ~Your décor and ambiance is stunning and vibrant! Just one problem: I never want to leave!
