Jack’s Hamburgers

Great burgers!!! But the cashier was the rudest person. First question she asked, «with cheese?» Well actually I wasn’t having a burger… so yeah no cheese… but she was rushing. So over rated

I have to be honest and say that this place is extremely overrated. It was listed in our tour book as a «must visit». How it got that distinction, I’ll never understand.
I’m not sure if Jack’s is just resting on its laurels from days now long past or whether this is a case of the emperor’s new clothes … But I swear this place is nothing to rave about. It’s just a normal burger joint which serves a mediocre burger at best. I’ve had much better at a fast food place.
Beyond the burger, the French fries were absolutely horrible. If you are going to be a great hamburger place, you need to have great fresh cut French fries to accompany them. Don’t you? Apparently that isn’t the case here. The fries I had tasted like they were frozen from an Ora Ida bag. I expected so much more!
Seriously now, if you are coming to Santa Cruz for a visit, please do not waste your time coming here. It just isn’t worth it. Mediocre burger at best… Your stomach only has room for so much food, and the space shouldn’t be filled with the grub from Jack’s. Extremely disappointed!

BEST BURGER IN SANTA CRUZ!
I’ve lived in SC most my life and eaten at every burger joint. Jacks has the best straight up cheeseburger, it’s fresh, juicy, perfectly cooked, and fast. They are consistently amazing, and super affordable.
Their buy one basket get one ½ deal in the afternoon is a steal.
Their fries aren’t amazing, just standard.
Milkshakes are pretty great too!
Writing this review is making me crave more Jacks and I am already looking forward to busting down their door when they open tomorrow.

Jack’s isn’t as good as In-​and-​out or Super Duper burgers. but it its the best burgers you can get in Santa Cruz. And the best thing about this place is that you can get a cheeseburger for around $ 5! I got the cheeseburger and a chocolate shake and both were delicious. The burger wasn’t lacking in flavor and the chocolate shake had the right consistency. I also took a bite of my friends veggie burger and wow… it tastes better than my cheeseburger.
Location and environment wise, they have an extremely small parking lot on the side. There around only 7 spots but I’m not complaining because it is better than no parking at all. They have outside seating and indoor seating but this place isn’t exactly the most hygienic place either since there were gnats flying around and whatnot.
They also have a buy one get one 50% deal on burgers (regular or cheese) from 3pm-​4pm!
Overall I would summarize this place as: would recommend! Very affordable and better than any $ 8 – 9 burgers you get at burger. and Betty’s burger.

Its no In and Out burger but its good enough. I loved their chicken burger with fries.
