As far as neighborhood convenience stores go, this place is pretty average. They have a huge selection of random stuff that really comes in handy when I don’t want to drive to the super market. The prices are average for a store of this type — a little pricey, but you’re paying for convenience. I really like that you can buy a can if soda from here for less than a dollar, which is unusual for a convenience store these days. The place often smells kind of funny, like some sort of fishy food or something. The female owner is super friendly and will chit chat with you, she has a great sense of humor. However, her husband seems to be kind of grumpy, he rarely ever smiles back or greets me back when I say hello. I’d give this place a 4 star rating, because of the selection of stuff there, except it really sucks that they don’t accept debit cards. They have an ATM, but I don’t want to pull out $ 20(plus $ 5 in fees!) just so I can buy a few things. I know the fees for little places like that are crazy, but debit is cheaper and I’ve avoided going there a few times in favor of a bigger store just so I don’t have to hit their ATM.

Second time here. Im a coupon-er(dont hate!!) Came here to buy some Sunday newspapers. I grabbed the last two and the owner asked if I wanted one from behind the counter so I got that one too. Im a nut so I check online to see how many inserts will be in the paper. Today there was 4. In the 3 newspapers I bought there was 3 in 2 and 2 in 1. Im all for supporting small businesses but I think they coupon jacked me!!! Went to Walgreens after and found all 4… you tell me, was I coupon jacked???

This market is very well stocked considering its size and location. I’ve been in a pinch many times and found what i needed, from rope to tie a mattress to my car, to wine glasses and steak knives, to many boxed/canned food items, all very reasonably priced. Owners are local to the neighborhood, so the money you spend stays in the community. :)

When I first moved to Santa Clara, I thought it was brilliant that I had a market in such close proximity. The first trip there was buying cleaning supplies and paper products, which easily reached upwards of $ 50. Since then I have gone there once a week. I have even talked to the owners about bringing in the beer I sell. They weren’t interested. So last night, I had to do laundry. I have a laundry room in my 4plex that’s $ 2.00 a wash and free to dry. I only had $ 1.75. I tore apart my apartment, my car, coats in the closet with no return of a quarter. I was, however, able to scrounge up 4 nickels and 5 pennies. I head over to the Bellomy market thinking, I could trade it for a quarter. The lady said«no!» I asked«why,» her reply«you no buy, you no quarter» I explained that I’m a regular customer and only had 4 nickels and 5 pennies, so i couldn’t buy anything. She wouldn’t exchange the quarter, so I went next door to the dry cleaner who had no problem trading me the 4 nickels and 5 pennies for a quarter. Don’t go to Bellomy Market. They are mean people!

Small convenience store in a strip mall time forgot. Not much out of the ordinary except for the good selection of «Crush» sodas. Orange, Grape and Strawberry are well represented here. The owner is a quirky woman who has this huge plant collection out front. Maybe she lives above the store?
