Small location with a wall of computer parts. Very over priced but if you need that new laptop wireless mouse at eight in the evening this location is up your alley. I pay my phone bill here monthly. Since technically they have Boost Mobile cards you avoid the $ 3.00 charge tacked on your bill when you pay cash at a regular phone store. Often the phones themselves are discounted. When my old phone needed to be updated as the processor and memory were running slow with my apps the new phone I wanted was 50 dollars off. That sealed the deal for me.

If you know what you want, this store isn’t too bad. The employees have as good of a guess as you do to where anything is and the prices all tend to be too high. Works well enough if you are in a pinch and need a cable or charger, but there are much better deals to be found online.

First, I have to challenge«Laura R“‘s comment. Either she is dating one of the kids that works there or is an employee herself. I am a local, and have lived here for 38 years. This Radio Shack is staffed with people who, don’t know their product, are rude, are only there to hang out and talk with their friends, have no clue what customer service is. I have been in this store many times, and each time I leave empty handed with cash in my pocket(which ends up getting spent at another Radio Shack or at Best Buy). Here is an example of what we have in this store. I walk in on Sunday, the store is crowded, I see two sales associates. They are busy, as usual, chatting with their buddies who rode up on skateboards. I’m standing in the store looking for an adapter for an digital optical audio cable to convert to rca. The store manager/supervisor walked past me 3 times with out asking if I needed help, I stopped him the 4th time. I asked him where I could find this adapter. He gave me a funny look,. shrugged it off, then proceeded to watch the Raiders game on the TV behind me. I had to step in front of him to block his view so we could finish discussing this. He told me it doesn’t exist, even though I had checked online for radio shack, and found the sku # before I came down. I told him that, again he shrugged it off and walked away mid sentence, annoyed that I blocked his view of the Raiders game. I yelled after him, telling him that they do carry it and most electronics stores do carry it. He stopped, turned around and adamantly claimed, «nuthin’ I sell here dude». I asked if he was the manager onduty, he acknowledged he was. I asked him, how on earth could he be a manager with lack of customer service skills, and lack of product knowledge. He stood there blinking as I walked out and drove to Goleta, bought the damned thing from Best Buy. Fact is, anyone who shops at this store, knows exactly what I’m talking about, and as a local, I wonder how this store has survived when they walk so many customers. I’ll never go back in that place, and I live a few blocks away. The staff and management are complete morons. STAYAWAY from this store!

This is my favorite Radio Shack(and I’ve been to many in my time.) The customer service is exemplary. The store is well stocked and there is always something cool on sale! Each time I shop there its a pleasant experience. Many other locations have been a disappointment. The staff here understands good service and a well kept store. Thanks.
