Echt Margaret, MD

Dr. Echt’s practice is run horribly. I was unhappy with my care there for quite some time so I finally made the move to another doctor. At the consultation with my new doctor yesterday he remarked several times on how poor and incomplete my chart from Dr. Echt’s office was. Incomplete charting aside, my major issues are the questionable billing practices (as mentioned by Bridget B on here) and the «physician-​owned» surgery center that Dr. Echt uses exclusively for her minor procedures. When I got a call from the surgery center telling me to bring $ 1200 for «my portion» of the cost on the day of my procedure, that was the last straw (and confirmed my suspicion that this practice puts profit before patients).

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor! This was my first time seeing her and it was for an annual visit. First off the receptionist was extremely rude, didn’t even acknowledge me, never smiled and seemed annoyed that I was there checking in! Then I had to wait forever and Dr. Echt spent most of the visit looking in the mirror to fix her hair and talking about her personal life and even about other patients! She was arrogant and not professional at all and not gentle with the procedure! My insurance covered the visit, however, she double billed me because I talked for 1 minute about some occasional pain I was experiencing and thus the visit was no longer considered preventative care???
I will never go back and would not recommend her to anyone!!!

Wonderful doctor, great practioner, great surgeon. If something were to go wrong with my delivery there is no other doctor I would want in my corner. If you are delivering at SBCH, please go see Dr Echt for the best experience.

Great physician !! She spent a lot of time with me and really listened to my needs !!

While I love Dr. Echt, the wait to see her for those who don’t have a problem can be up to 8 weeks. That’s a long time to wait. Sadly, I did choose another doctor.
