After a house fire, I was inundated by a stream of contractors, vying for my business, when I felt vulnerable as a consumer. I needed a contractor who was trustworthy, knowledgeable and experienced in restoration after fire, attentive to details, committed to quality work, focused on timely repairs without compromising quality, listened attentively with sensitivity and understanding of the clients’ needs, and demonstrated a persona of accountability and responsibility. Don Thomas of WardTek was all of that. He was visible, present, and effectively communicative throughout the job, particularly when important impacting decisions needed to be made. Furthermore, his diligence led to job completion ahead of schedule.
During repairs, his workers were respectful to me as the homeowner as well as respectful to care of the property. They were conscientious in avoiding damage to existing intact property and in cleaning up after themselves at the end of the day.
I am back in my home ahead of schedule, with quality work where fine details were attended to and with assurance that the process of construction, insurance adjusters, and lending institution coordination was successful.
Lastly, Don’s warm personality, keen awareness of client’s needs and concerns, and skillful oversight of the job accentuates a positive client experience with WardTek.

Our house was the victim of a fire. Ward-​Tek does top quality work. The end result was near perfect. I have only one complaint: the speed of the completion of the job. Perhaps this is not norm. Ward –Tek was also working on another house’s fire restoration at the same time as ours. This, I believe, caused delays to rebuilding our house. Those delays caused further delays on subsequent work. Other than that, Ward Tek and Don do top notch quality work! I highly recommend them for your construction needs. The house doesn’t have a smoke odor anymore and came out beautifully! Drywall, paint, windows, plumbing, HVAC… all came out great!

I have known the owner Don Thomas for several years and hoped I would never need the services of Ward-​Tek Construction because, well, that means grandma drove through the side of her garage and into her home. Yeah. Well. That happened.
It felt great to have a trusted company where I know the owner is passionate about quality work and doing it one time, the legal and right way. No corners are cut. Yet even with that recommendation, my suborn grandma, whom I love was uneasy at first with the process.
Don personally called my grandma and made arrangements to meet with her. My grandma is older and he did a great job of explaining the process and being patient with my grandma. He quickly gained my grandma’s trust as the process went on as he is such a great communicator of what he is doing, why he is doing it, and when the work is being done. Don spoke with my grandma and sent items in the mail to make sure she was in the loop every step of the way. He really has a gift for communicating and being compassionate towards people.
Don used his other management staff as well, Victor and Leo, and their expertise to keep the project going smoothly. I have meet Leo and Victor and they are great at what they do. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Ward-​Tek did the initial board up and secured it after the accident. Then they were quick to get all steps done, including pulling the permits. One slight obstacle was my grandma’s house is older than some and the bricks damaged in the crash were really hard to replace. Don spent days on it tracking down the right bricks to match the house as everything needed to be like it was before or better and Ward-​Tek really came through on that. She was really pleased about this and also the window replacement that they did. There is a lot more light shining through and that makes her happy. My grandma does not give out praise lightly and will fire contractors, landscapers ect for average work, so the work Ward-​Tek did is really impressive.
Ward-​Tek did high quality work, customer friendly, and great communicators. I would use them if the need ever arises.

I worked with Fernando at Ward-​tek to rebuild a bedroom in my home after I had a flood. Immediately after the flood, a water damage company came in and ripped up carpet, removed two feet of every wall in a bathroom, closet and bedroom due to black water. That company ran dryers, dehumidifiers and fans for a week and a couple of days. It was a horrible experience with boxes and furniture moved into my dining room and hallway. Everything was a mess and stressful.
My insurance adjuster gave me the name of one construction company and a rep left me a voicemail advising that he thought the amount my insurance company would pay them was lower than he wanted but he would do it. He called again and I missed his call and he restated that the quote was low but he would help me out. So in other words he was doing me a favor. I did not want someone in my home or doing repairs that repeatedly had to remind me that he was doing me a favor. I called my insurance company and they advised the would have another company call me. Less than a day went by and due to the stress of the flood I was not feeling my best, when the phone rang, I thought it was the guy calling me again who was going to be so gracious and do me a favor. When the person told me he was from the construction company, I jumped down his throat and told him I did not care to give him my business since he didn’t feel the job was paying him much. It was Fernando of Ward-​tek. He patiently explained he was another company and was contacting me for the first time. He reassured me that if there was anything wrong with the insurance amount that he would work directly with my insurance agent and that it wouldn’t be my responsibility nor would I need to pay more out of my pocket.
Ward-​Tek started the job a few days after I signed the contract and Fernando was a great communicator and updated me daily about the progress and what would be done next. It’s so hard to have people coming in and out of your home but the workers came in and just did their job each day and did not disappear for hours. There was only one day that they had a delay due to the carpet coming in late but again it was only one day.
The workers did a good job at repairing what was ripped up and paid attention to detail and Fernando was patient with me during a very trying time, and was a very good communicator.
Ward-​Tek was reliable and did what they said they would do, when the advised they would do it. They also did a top quality job — who can say that about their last construction experience?

Thanks to Don and his entire team!!! What can I say, AWSOME JOB!!! We are very pleased with the restoration job to our 1904, Victorian home. It went up in flames about four years ago. Not only did they make our home look beautiful again, they added many needed upgrades that look original to the house. The entire team, were very professional, hard working, punctual, respectful, knowledgeable, clean, and very detail-​oriented. Their craftsmanship super exceeded my expectations. With Don´s easy going personality and charm made this process stress and headache free. He took care of our home as if it was his own. We will recommend him to the world! Give him the challenge and you wont regret it!!! You will make a friend, like we did!
