Just rode my bike through here – very cool, hippyish place – lucky them to have this great spot!

This is always a fun stop for children and adults of any age. Libby«The Bird Lady» does an amazing job at keeping everyone interested and allows anyone to hold the birds that wants to. This is always on our to-do list when we are in Sannibel.

What a cute, fabulous, accomodating campground. I was a little worried because they are the only one on the island, and it’s here or nowhere, but they sure don’t act like it! We checked into a tent site and they went into detail about the restrooms, pavillion areas, and even offered us use of a microwave in an enclosed patio area. It is very pretty and the ground isn’t solid rock where you set the tents up. There is a side gate where you can walk to the local grocery store without having to manuever out of the campground. The showers and bathrooms are very clean and everyone loved the fact that we brought our 1 year old camping! We missed the bird show but saw the cages full of gorgeous birds who are very well cared for. There are a few duck ponds that are fenced in with all kids of ducks and a few swans! The only drawback is that the beach is supposedly .5 miles, but it looked more like 1.5. Definitely not feasible if you have kids and have to lug all your stuff. I recommend the lighthouse/pier because of all the dolphins that hang out there or Bowman’s beach for the sunset. Have fun and bring your kids camping!!!

We went for the bird show. They have a show almost everyday at 10am. Libby gives you the details of the birds habitat and what they like to eat. Also, she actually puts the birds on your shoulder or head. It was lots of fun.

This campground is unlike any I have experienced. They have toucans, macaws, and brown & ringtail lemurs. The restrooms are clean and up-to-date. The website mentions that new washers were just installed and bathrooms were just updated. As far as I can tell, this is the only place to bring a camper to Sanibel Island. I will definitely stay there next time I am in the area. One can easily bike every where from this campground.
