Good food, fast service, and clean inside. Consistently good on every one of my half dozen visits over they last year.

I haven’t been inside yet but I ordered in from GrubHub. Not only was the Cajun BBQ sandwich awesome but it was also supper filling. I ordered a side and could barely eat any of it. The hummus was good but the homemade chips that came with it were amazing. I look forward to trying the other items!

While I was expecting something chicken related, given the name, I’m not sure that I was expecting… schnitzel. Not just a little schnitzel. Or a popular dish schnitzel. But ALL schnitzel. Still, Seven Hens was overall pretty good. Filling a niche in the lack of schnitzel based eateries in Sandy Springs, and perhaps everywhere, you could choose to get your schnitzel as a plate, or in a sandwich. Plates came with two sides, and there were a number to choose from. Sandwiches came by themselves unless you opted for a combo with fries and drink and an up-charge. They offered a number of pre-made geographically influenced options, from the traditional German to an asian influence, as well as the choice to «make your own» schnitzel, which allowed you to choose your own spices, sauces and topping. I opted for a traditional german schnitzel plate, with coleslaw and sweet potato fries as my sides. The schnitzel itself was very good. Fried well with a nice crispy exterior and moist interior. It was topped with beer sauerkraut and came with a dill caper sauce. The sauerkraut was decent, but the sauce was amazing. So good I was dipping my fries in to get every last bit. The sweet potato fries were crinkle cut and thin and not really my cup of tea, though my boyfriend really enjoyed them. Unfortunately, the coleslaw was, odd, and tasted like it was made with mustard instead of mayo. I can see how the extra tang of the mustard may have been good, but it just ended up tasting sour and strange and very underwhelming. I also tried either the Indian or Chinese schnitzel sandwich that my boyfriend ordered, but it wasn’t very memorable, clearly, since I can’t even remember which one he ate! Overall, the schnitzel was good. In it’s original German form, it was very good. I’ll probably be back here for more, and not just because there’s a scoutmob for 50% off and I like cheap food.

Great food, but understaffed. Everything I’ve had has been really good, and their sweet potato fries are some of the best. But every time I go, there’s only one person working there. This causes a problem if there’s a few people in line.

Had such a wonderful experience here! I had the the Ginger Teriyaki Schnitzel with sweet potato fries and cucumber salad. My dining companion had Cajun BBQ Schnitzel Baguette with sweet potato fries. The meal was delicious and the price was truly reasonable. If you are in the Roswell Rd/Abernathy Rd area, stop and give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

Parking: Located in a large shopping center with plentiful parking spots. Easy. Ambiance: Urban décor. You place your order at the front counter, and once your food is ready, you grab it yourself from the kitchen window. Service: you order, you grab your own food and drinks, and you throw your own trash away. The cashier was friendly though and did a great job explaining the concept. Food: HUGE sandwich with plentiful of fries. Their chicken schnitzel is perfectly breaded, crispy and so yummy. It’s a fairly large sized piece of meat. However, at this location, my fries were so soggy as though they weren’t fried all the way through. I’ve never had this issue at their Decatur location. The fries were perfectly salted though. I always order their Chinese sandwich which is AMAZING, and it comes with a side of their asian garlic mayo sauce, which is perfect for dipping fries in. Also, there are extra spices to add more flavor to your fries or sandwich. Overall: great sandwiches, soggy fries, with nice flavor, fast order. Would come back if I had a scoutmob or groupon, but wouldn’t mind paying full price either.

You can find Seven Hens at 6615 Roswell Rd # 24a, Sandy Springs, GA30328 in the Abernathy Square Publix Shopping Center right at the intersection of Abernathy Rd and Roswell Rd, North of the perimeter. This is a above average-sized shopping center with several food options including: Bawarchi Biryani Pointe, Ippolito’s Italian, Mirage Persian, and the Publix anchor store. Parking is particularly busy at all hours so you may have to walk a bit from your parking space. Exit from the lot can be a bit difficult depending on your direction of travel so be careful, especially when pulling into traffic. Seven Hens is fast-casual restaurant specializing in schnitzel — your basic pounded-flat chicken breast that is breaded and fried to perfection. At Seven Hens you can select from seven menu options to flavor the chicken in various ways — from ethnic, worldly cuisines to your basic Southern-fried chicken, served with sides, atop a salad or in a sandwich or wrap. The options are on the wall on boards or you can read from a short menu. Ordering is at the counter with these choices: American, Chinese, French, German, Indian, Italian, Mexican plus a seasonal style that rotates several times a year. Both times I’ve eaten at Seven Hens I’ve had the curry with cucumber salad and sweet potato fries — this is quite the meal and very satisfying. There’s a variety of seasonings available at the drink station where you can intensify the flavors or if you’re not sure about what’s prepared by the cooks, you can get the American and add various flavors to figure out what you like best. Personally I’d like to have a very hot/spicy version of the chicken, something like the Mexican only more Szechuan-style. Even the Indian to me could use a hint of ghost pepper to be over-the-top, but you guys know how I like the spice. I’ve had occasion to meet one of the owners and I like his ideas behind the Seven Hens concept. I’ll be sure to be back again-and-again.

Saw the Scout Mob deal for Seven Hens and was curious to try it. Prior to this I’d never had any experience with schnitzels. Google says it’s a very thin and tenderized piece of meat breaded and fried originating in Austria. Fun fact of the day for me. Woo.~ Verdict on schnitzels? It was tasty, would try again. Seven Hens offers up four ways to enjoy your schnitzel: platter style, baguette sandwich or wrapped, and salad style. We tried ours baguette style. Schnitzels of choice: Cajun BBQ and Ginger Teriyaki. The schnitzel itself was crispy and fresh and made for a nice chicken sandwich type of meal. Out of the two the Cajun BBQ was my preferred as the Ginger Teriyaki was fairly ginger-y. If I’m ever back, it might be nice to try the salad version of one. We also ordered both with a side of sweet potato fries. The fries had a nice crispiness to them as well, but I thought they were a little too salty. I’m sure you can probably hold the salt, but just my two cents. Not bad either way. After ordering you can pick from a small variety of seasonings near the drink station. I grabbed one curiously to try on some fries. I think it’s nice if you just wanna experiment a tiny bit or want more flavor. They basically mimic the flavors already applied to the schnitzels. The store was more or less dead when we arrived, but the staff was friendly and welcoming.

Seven Hens is a chicken schnitzel restaurant. At the time of writing this review, there are two locations in metro Atlanta: this one in Sandy Springs and another in Decatur. This location opened in November 2014. Seven Hens advertises itself as «Atlanta’s Only Schnitzel Eatery.» Sure, there are several restaurants in Atlanta that offer schnitzel on their menus, but I believe Seven Hens is the only restaurant that specializes in schnitzel specifically. I was first introduced to Seven Hens’ Sandy Springs location through a Unilocal Elite Event in March 2015( ). Owner Michael Gurevich invited us into his kitchen and walked us through the schnitzel making process. I left impressed and a fan, pleasantly surprised by Michael’s fast-casual schnitzel concept and the taste of the schnitzel itself. I’ve subsequently returned as a regular customer. Seven Hens is located in the same shopping center as Publix at the corner of Roswell Rd and Abernathy Rd. The restaurant has a stand in line and order/pay upfront ordering system. All foods are made-to-order and drinks(fountain drinks, tea), plastic silverware, and napkins are self-serve from a station in the back. The kitchen is open so you can see your schnitzel get pounded, breaded, fried, seasoned, and sliced. Orders can be picked up at the window or brought to your table. The place is simple and clean with an open layout, casual atmosphere, and a TV too. The restaurant uses regional, cage-free, all-natural chicken for its schnitzel. What makes Seven Hens unique is they serve schnitzel in different styles such as American(Cajun BBQ), Mexican(Chipotle Cilantro), Chinese(Ginger Teriyaki), French(Olive Dijon), German(Sauerkraut Dill), Indian(Curry Cucumber), and Italian(Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto). The schnitzel can be served as a sandwich/wrap, in a salad, or sliced on a traditional platter with a side. Prices run about $ 7.50 to $ 9.00 each with sides a few dollars extra. You can also customize your own schnitzel starting around six bucks. I’ve tried the schnitzel here in all three formats(wrap, salad, platter) and I like the platter the best. I just enjoy putting nothing but a crispy, crunchy, and seasoned piece of schnitzel in my mouth. It’s quite enjoyable and reminds me of Japanese tonkatsu(which is a very similar fried cutlet, but made with pork instead of chicken). I’ve tried most of the flavors. If I had to rank them, the list would probably look something like this: 1. Sauerkraut Dill(German) — sauerkraut & onions, beer reduction, lemon dill-caper sauce 2. Curry Cucumber(Indian) — cucumber salad, curried yogurt dressing, garam masala seasoning 3. Chipotle Cilantro(Mexican) — chipotle aioli, cilantro mojo, picante seasoning 4. Olive Dijon(French) — Dijon mustard, tangy olive tapenade aioli, Herbs de Provence 5. Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto(Italian) — basil pesto, sweet sun-dried tomato aioli, Italian seasoning I like sauerkraut and onions so it’s only natural I would gravitate towards the Sauerkraut Dill schnitzel. It comes with lots of delightfully sour sauerkraut with the refreshing dill sauce in a tiny cup on the side. The yogurt dressing for the Curry Cucumber schnitzel is served the same way. I actually like the Curry Cucumber schnitzel on its own without any dressing. It must be the flavorful and aromatic garam masala spice mix. The Chipotle Cilantro is pretty tasty too thanks to the savory chipotle aioli and mojo. The Olive Dijon and Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto aren’t bad, but also aren’t my favorites. I tried the Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto in salad form which may have affected my opinion of it. I do like how the herbs infuse an additional layer of flavor into the Olive Dijon schnitzel. Sides I’ve tried include: * Yukon Gold French Fries * Sweet Potato Fries * Crisp Cucumber Salad * Hummus with Veggies & House Chips I can’t say I like one side over another. They’re all okay to me. I might actually give an edge to the regular French Fries over the Sweet Potato Fries. The Sweet Potato Fries are pretty sweet. The Cucumber Salad is tangy and a bit watery, but that’s not totally unexpected. The hummus is good. The chips that come with the hummus are thin and crispy, but greasy too. Service is excellent. Michael is friendly and hospitable and one of his managers(not sure of his name) always seems to be on top of his game. «All hands on deck!» If you like schnitzel, Seven Hens is definitely worth checking out.

Wow! This place is great! I had the German schnitzel platter with Yukon gold fries and cucumber salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. The chicken cutlet was so tender! Look out Chik-fil-A, there’s a new chicken game in town.

Seven Hens has lingered on the bottom of my radar for months but never crossed my mind to try it until recently. I decided to meet my friend here for dinner, and arrived a little early, maybe 7:20pm on a Tuesday night. I was going to walk inside and wait for her, then stopped abruptly. Completely empty. I checked to see if they were open. Definitely open. I made awkward eye contact with a sole worker inside several times while I waited outside. I heard him clapping and wiping the glass on the door with Windex. Anything to keep him from the monotony of the lack of customers… Finally, my friend and her husband arrived ten minutes later and we still decided to give Seven Hens a chance. Yup, still empty. Walking inside, the sole worker greeted us. He was a little abrasive, borderline rude, but was nice enough to suggest the most popular signature schnitzel options, as none of us had been there before. We each ordered his top three suggestions in the three different schnitzel styles: Cajun BBQ(American) schnitzel salad Chipotle Cilantro(Mexican) schnitzel platter, and Ginger Teriyaki(Chinese) schnitzel wrap with sweet potato fries There were seasoning salt shakers to use on your schnitzel in all the different flavors. I thought it was kind of pointless… Since aren’t you already using the same sauce on your schnitzel? Why would you mix any of the flavors together? So we accepted the challenge of mixing flavors, which was pretty interesting. The schnitzel was mighty tasty! Reminded me of Asian fried tonkatsu. My salad was literally just the chopped schnitzel atop greens. The Cajun BBQ dipping sauce came on the side. Making it a meal(sweet potato fries and a drink) by adding $ 2.50 isn’t the BEST deal, as you only get a handful of fries, but the fries are hot and crispy with some light seasoning. The Cole slaw was a little, which was a little off putting, but overall the flavors were pretty good, if you just ignore the sourness… After we ordered and started eating, another family came in to eat, and a couple people ordered to go. I don’t know if this is their usual night or if this is just Tuesday, but I do worry for the life span of Seven Hens in Sandy Springs. Overall, a new place to try with a different concept. Borderline fast food, but still sit-down if you’d like to take the time to eat that schnitzel fresh!

Seven hens has several types of schnitzel. I’d heard of schnitzel before because I lived in Germany for three years when I was younger. I’ve tried the American(cajun bbq) one and also the Italian. Both were pretty good but I got them on a baguette and it was way too much bread. I ended up throwing the bread out and just eating the chicken it was much better that way. And when I go back I’ll just get the platter. Their french fries were delicious. I could eat an order of those without anything else lol. They’re also very good dipped in the sauce that comes with the Cajun schnitzel. I’ve never been here for lunch – just the weekend and it’s never busy. It seemed like it took a long time to get the food but both times I went only one person seemed to be working so that’s probably why. It didn’t really bother me –my phone keeps me entertained lol. The first time I went they gave me coupons for bogo. Awesome! Also, I believe the chicken all comes from local farms and no antibiotics. Parking is free. They share a lot with the other stores in the plaza.

I was here last Friday for lunch. It was half full of people. The menu was definitely unique. Chicken schnitzel everything and each item varied by country of origin. There was a schnitzel with Indian flavoring, Asian flavoring Italian flavoring, etc. My colleagues and I ordered the same schnitzel type… cucumber curry. It was mildly flavored. I ordered mine wrap style. Once I put some hot sauce on it, it was fairly good. Nothing to rave about. One of my colleagues ordered the plate and he also got the hummus and said it was aggressively garlicky. I will avoid that if I come here again! Definitely up for coming here again and venturing for a different schnitzel and trying one of the sides too. Overall friendly, fast service and clean venue.

If you’ve ever experienced chicken fatigue(that«not chicken AGAIN» feeling), Seven Hens can snap you out of it. They celebrate all things schnitzel – thin cutlets of chicken pounded flat, breaded and fried. Although the dish has European origins, Seven Hens put a global spin on things with various sauces, toppings and spices that add international flair. The menu options represent China, Jamaica, France, India and Italy to name a few. You can’t find sauces like these at other fast-casual chicken places: olive tapenade aioli, Chinese mayo, curried yogurt dressing and dill-caper sauce. They’re total boredom busters. I ordered their Mexican option, the Chipotle Cilantro Schnitzel sandwich on a baguette. It was dressed with chipotle aioli, cilantro mojo and picante seasonings. I thought it was flavorful and really filling even if it was a little too much bread. I loved their crinkle cut sweet potato fries though. My batch was fresh out the fryer and they were flavorful and crispy without being super greasy. Lighter options like Coleslaw and Cucumber Salad were available but I was having a fry-a-palooza. My first foray into schnitzel(thanks Lindy F.) was pretty good but next time I’ll probably bypass the sandwich and get the platter to let the schnitzel and sauce hold their own.

Seven Hens is my go-to lunch spot. It’s in the shopping center closest to my office, and the food is good and reasonably priced. When people ask me what schnitzel is, I say, «German fried chicken,» because I like to keep things simple. For lunch I usually order a platter with a side salad and sweet potato fries. I like the side salad because it’s dark leaf lettuce and I like the rock salt they garnish the sweet potato fries with. I have also had the cucumber salad, which is cool and fresh, but needs some lemon juice or vinegar as it’s a bit bland. The variation in the menu are the sauces. My favorites are the Cajun BBQ and Ginger Teriyaki sauces. The Chinese mayo is de-li-cious. It’s probably just mayo with some Chinese five spice, but I like using it as a dip for the sweet potato fries. I’m not a fan of the sauces with the Chipotle Cilantro schnitzel; again, too bland for me. They also have specials, but I have as yet to try one, so be on the lookout for those written on a chalkboard next to the register. They also have cake push-up desserts that I have not tried in red velvet, chocolate, and lemon(or maybe vanilla?) flavors. I wish they would serve cake pops instead; smaller and less messy than these cake push-ups are likely to be. The service was initially a bit slow, but I feel like they have found their grove and my wait time is a lot less than it used to be. When I want a quick 30 – 40 minute lunch, Seven Hens has been working out. And just in case you haven’t figured out, there is only chicken here — no beef, tofu or anything else, and the chicken is all natural and sourced locally. Eat responsibly people. Unilocal 100 #27

«Don’t order the Schnitzel, they’re using Schnauzer.» — Stripes(1981) What a great addition to my neighborhood. Who can say no to the allure of crispy chicken cutlets served up in a manner of ways? Certainly not me! The sign on this place was up for months before they actually opened and I was very anxious to try the new joint. Once I noticed they had opened, I came in to grab lunch(I work from home) and got the German version — sauerkraut and dill. I ordered the platter and got the cucumber salad and yukon gold fries. The fries were good, but the cucumbers were my fave! The Schnitzel was a winner. I’m not a big kraut fan, but felt I needed to go with the standard my first time out. I came back a few days later and got a wrap of the BBQ — sweet and spicy and a huge hit in my book. I also really enjoyed this in wrap form. The platter still seemed like the best deal to me personally — you get 2 sides and full on crispy! I love the crispy outside and tender and juicy insides. I also love the Schnitzel in salad form — plus I feel less guilt. I’ve had this with the French — Olive and Dijon. It’s a definite winner in my book. I have yet to have a bad Schnitzel — how can you go wrong with boneless and skinless chicken breast, pounded thin, then battered and fried? I mean you can’t! Plus, get the sweet potato fries… you will not be sorry.

What does Seven Hens mean simply put the seven chicken sandwiches from around the world that are on the menu for you to choose from. For those of you who don’t know what schnitzel is(here) it is a chicken breast pounded thin, breaded and fried to crispy and can be made into a sandwich, wrap, salad or platter. Today’s choice was the Sauerkraut Dill the flavors were very mild with no sour bite in the kraut at all. If that’s not your thing try the sun dried tomato aioli this was yummy and would like it with some spicy peppers and mushrooms. My favorite is Jaeger Schnitzel and found out it can be had during the winter months last month even with homemade spaztel whaaat?! This month Seven Hens is featuring a Thai inspired schnitzel with ingredients of carrots, onions, peppers and radish. Not feeling theirs make your own there are twelve free toppings to choose from and for a bit more(fifty cents to $ 1.50) you can add things like pesto, hummus, a fried egg or avocado. You have so many options to choose from you could eat here every day for a month and never have the same combination twice. A children’s menu is also available at very fair prices.

I was in the area and luckily Seven Hens was running a Scoutmob deal for a free sandwich. It was during lunch and to my surprise they weren’t too busy. I ordered the American/Cajun Schnitzel sandwich which was free with the scoutmob deal and paid for a drink and sweet potato fries separately. Less than 5 minutes my sandwich was ready and I was one happy and satisfied customer. The schnitzel is fried to perfection. The chicken isn’t dry, has a thin layer of breading, and deep fried for a crispy outer layer. usually, when you eat something deep fried I get a guilty/gross feeling, but this sandwich was NOT oily at all! The flavor tasted like chicken(not oil) and all the other ingredients in the sandwich were fresh! The sweet potato fries were great as well! I would definitely come back here with/without a deal and try some of their other sandwiches!

I live right next to Seven Hens so I stopped by after work to try it out and grab my free bbq schnitzel sandwich(thanks Scoutmob!). My schnauzer is named Schnitzel so my son laughed when I told him we’re going to eat Schnitzel. *insert Asian joke here* The bbq sandwich was flavorful with plenty of schnitzel and coleslaw. sooooo yum. My son had the Mexican schnitzel platter that comes with Chipotle aioli and cilantro aioli and choice of two sides. Wow, the food is on point. Chicken was fresh and crispy and fries were deliciously fried and perfectly seasoned. My son just loved it and so did I. This is our new favorite joint. Can’t wait to try the other plates.

Seven Hens recently opened in the Abernathy Square shopping center and my first thought was, «What is Chicken Schnitzel? Seven Hens uses local, all-natural chicken that they literally pound with a hammer to flatten, then they bread the chicken, and fry it. The result is a delicious chicken schnitzel that comes with your choice of sauce for flavor. I got the Cajun Chicken Schnitzel and loved every bite of it. The fries were also good. I had heard that the other Seven Hens location in Decatur has different flavors such as buffalo chicken and a mexican schnitzel. I asked the manager and he confirmed that the two locations have different flavors. The flavors in Decatur sound better to me than some of the options at this location in Sandy Springs, but I will definitely be back to try more.
