It’s a quiet, low-key place, but I quite enjoy the buffet. When one wants unassuming but well-prepared food at a reasonable price, one could do worse. The chai is tasty and nigh-endless. The entrees are varied and savory. Although I only get to visit roughly once each year, I always walk away satisfied, wishing that such a place could be found in my own neighborhood.

I typically get the butter chicken meal, which has consistently been a delicious dish. They can sometimes take a little while to prepare the food, but it is always fresh.

I visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday. The only reason I won’t give it 5 stars is because of the lack of service. When I walked in there was no one to greet me or seat me. I had to ask a bus boy if I should just sit wherever and he nodded. Also, you have to get your own beverages. For the lunch buffet price of $ 10, I guess I shouldn’t have high expectations. Luckily the food was delicious and I definitely will return.

We have been to this place about 3 times, the food(taste) is between average to above average in taste the first few times. 3rd time was not exactly a charm we all could feel it the next day. The food felt a bit funky but we were too tiered to complain, after feeding the little one(Luckily she had home made food) we just needed something to eat before we hit the computers(work) and then the pillow… This time our food especially Bhindi Masala(we are fans of okra) was super greasy, Aloo saag was just ok and aloo tiki was definitely not fresh(at least from the taste of it). I keep reading about their cucumber wrap but always forget to get that may be next time… Our experience was pretty good the first few times but the last episode is forcing us to reconsider taking a little break from the restaurant…

Had an order of the Veggie Wrap(in bhatura) w/cucumber salad(~$ 8): Romaine lettuce, cucumbers, spicy potatoes, tomatoes, cilantro, onions, green chilies, and chutneys. Also had an order of the Paneer Wrap(in naan) w/potato salad(~$ 8): Tandoori Paneer, cucumbers, spicy potatoes, tomatoes, cilantro, onions, green chilies, and chutneys. Food was delicious, staff was discounted(as the food was taken to-go via a Unilocal!deal), and the ambiance was(resultantly) elsewhere.

My favorite place to eat in San Ramon. I have tried the chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and chicken curry. It is all wonderful! My favorite is the butter chicken and tikka! Honestly can not go wrong! Haven’t tried their buffet but definitely want to! Their naan is sooo great the garlic naan is a little bit much. So I avoid that. The owner is also very friendly which is another plus! Definitely try this place if you are in the area!

Nice quiet place, arrived after the buffet ended and ordered from the regular menu. It was great tasting food. Ordered the Butter Chicken, which came with Nan Bread and Rice. There is a $ 10 for $ 15 voucher on Unilocal which made it even better. Would eat there again.

I come to Café Tandoor often for lunch. This place is amazing and their recipes are delicious. My favorite lunch dish is the Chicken Masala Wrap… amazing! Recently we asked if they host private parties and to my surprise they did! They were fully prepared and set-up to have a private party. So we hosted our sons 1st birthday party and it was a success. We had about 85 guests and everyone had a wonderful time, eating, drinking, and dancing!

Lemme just say, this is my go to Indian restaurant. Service is so welcoming and friendly, and the food comes out fairly quickly. Their lunch buffet is pretty good too. I always always get the spice kofta curry and its so good. Honestly I don’t even know what it is but it’s delicious. Its vegetarian too so it makes me feel like a good person. Their garlic naan… OHGIRL. ITISSOGOOD. Their garlic naan honestly is the best ever, its the perfect amount of garlic and crispiness and burntness its just so good. The only downside to this place is

Really like this spot, big portions, reasonably priced and their lunch buffet has a ton of variety for only $ 10.

Eh. Yup that’s how I feel after my meal. It wasn’t to die for or something I would be excited to eat another time. I ordered chicken tikka masala meal with garlic naan but the tikka masala taste and texture reminded me more of curry rather than the creamy tomato base flavors. In addition, I specifically ordered mild so my son could eat some too but it was spicy! The garlic naan is ok… Very flat! Overall, kinda disappointed. I am a big Indian food fan and I LOVE a specific Indian restaurant, that shall remain nameless because this is not a shameless plug for them and this place was not it. I just wanted to grab a quick bite to eat at home and was craving the goodness I usually have but this definitely did not hit the spot. I will have to hit up my lunch buffet place this weekend. Fo sho!

If you are in San Ramon, like Indian food, and would like to have a quick & tasty lunch, then this should be your destination. Located in the Market Place strip mall, Bollinger Canyon & Market Place. Plenty of parking available and no line or waiters for you to wait for. $ 10 covers a buffet style lunch, dessert, and a beverage. Their are several options for rice, tasty tandoor chicken, rich butter chicken, goat meat, masala, nan bread, some dessert options as well. The spiciness level is up there, certainly caused me to wipe my forehead. The food is clean and the venue is very simple. Been twice and I will go back again!

Good go-to spot when you’re hungry for a tandoori wrap in the area. I don’t like the TV, and I think the place could be lit up a bit more, but generally it’s a good spot to get a decent wrap.

We have eaten here several times since moving to the Bay Area and I’m super stoked that Café Tandoor is walking distance from our place. My boyfriend had never had Indian food so we both got Chicken Tikka Masala one evening, and he loved it so much that he wanted to eat it for lunch the next day! LOL! I agree with some of the other reviews that rate their naan pretty high — I enjoyed it a lot, and being Indian myself, I’d say that’s a legit statement. Their lunch buffet is $ 10 per person which is a fantastic deal and they have a great variety of vegetarian options as well as non-vegetarian options too. We’ll definitely continue eating here on a regular basis. The employees have always been friendly and polite when we’ve been in and I look forward to the next time we visit.

So far, we’ve been here twice(in the evening) and had an excellent experience both times. We don’t eat wheat and we avoid dairy, so we always have to take care to find out what ingredients are in our food before we order at a new restaurant. The owner is friendly and doesn’t hesitate to answer our flood of questions… and he has great suggestions about other options we might like. Both times, the food was delivered promptly. Our first time, we had the lamb biryani and the achari goat biryani. This time, we tried the seekh kabab. All three have tasted absolutely amazing. Prices are $ 9-$ 15/person, but you get a lot of food. Due to all of the above, I’d definitely recommend this little restaurant around the corner.

Lunch with Hubby following an impulse buy on Groupon. The place is in a strip mall and easy to find. A Lunch Buffet is available until 3pm every day but not being Buffet fans we decided to order from the menu: — Chicken Pakora( ) — $ 6.99 — Chicken Madras( ) — $ 8.99 — Chicken Korma( ) — $ 8.99 Yeah, we like Chicken. All Entrée’s come A La Cart with Rice and Bread as well as a Choice of Salad or Vegetable of the day. We choose one of each( )( ) — Mango Lassi( ) — $ 2.49. Not made to order but stored by the couple dozen in the fridge. The lady at the register was friendly and the food came out quickly. Portions are plentiful and you can help yourself to water if you wish. The food itself wasn’t anything special though and I was a little disappointed that the Chicken in both Curry’s was on the bone and the Chicken Madras which is meant to be a spicy dish was not at all. However the bread was soft and tasty with the Chicken Pakora being my favorite part of the meal. As well as Curry and Rice dishes the menu also has Wraps and Tacos. * TIP* Want to show off your singing skills? Café Tandoor now has Karaōke on the first Friday of every month. Tickets are $ 12 and include the Buffet. No, I am not kidding…

It’s been years since I’ve been to Café Tandoor. It was one of the first Indian restaurants in San Ramon. Late last night we decided to get some Indian food and did not want to drive too far. The place has the same interior décor but the menu has expanded. We had the following Lamb Vindaloo excellent Chicken Tiki Marsala good Saag Chick Peas excellent Tandoori Kabob Platter excellent Garlic Naan excellent Service was minimal but good. Lot’s of Parking.
