If I could give this shop a 0 I would.
My VW bug was disassembled and not assembled correctly afterwards. Three things were not done correctly, including the headlights which they glued in because the technician was not familiar with vw’s and did not know how to reassemble a v.w.bug. A battery cover was broken at the hinge and just tossed under the front seat. The cable to the battery was not attached properly resulting in a breakdownme being were stranded on highway 1 within 40 minutes of leaving the shop. The manager was rude and would not take responsibility for the headlight. Geico — this is your qualified body shop. The worst aservice I have ever received in 40 years of driving.

It sucks to have your auto get messed up, but if it does G&C is where you want it to be restored back to new.
Outstanding service from estimate to completed repair and delivery. Both San Rafael G&C locations have done work on two of my vehicles and several friends and family cars. Their work is always the best and you will be fully satisfied.
Working with Lexi was great!!! He remained on point always keeping me updated on my repair status.
The shop is conveniently located, accept all insurance companies, and will assist you with a comparable vehicle rental during your repair. When your vehicle is fixed back to factory spec you can drop the rental on location with no hassle. Supper convenient and at no additional cost depending on your /​other parties insurance co.

Having had to utilize this company previously with a run-​in with a wild critter… I decided to return (to a different company location) when I had to do repair work for someone hitting my vehicle.
The person decided to pay out of pocket for the damages. So I went in and had an estimate done. I was reassured that my private information would not be provided in excess to the person who hit my car. Although there were a few privacy slips (right in front of me, while I was sitting in the lobby). it was nothing to get all up-​in-​arms about. so I let it go. I really wish a company would stick to their word though.
Unfortunately while working with you, because of the small quarters of this locations office everyone is in everyone else’s business and keeping the attention of your estimator can be quite difficult at times. The personal experience is lacking.
I was able to schedule a future appointment for the work and told that it should take 1 – 2 days max. I was told when I came in for may appointment that a rental car would be ready for me. Since the last experience was so wonderful with the rental experience through this company. I assumed this transaction would be too. It was NOT. Unfortunately the person that could help with the rental car wasn’t even in at the time of my appointment. Then they offered me their own car to utilize for $ 15/​day. but they failed to mention that it is painted and stamped all over with the company logo. When you are trying to go about your day and fly under the radar and already being uprooted from your own vehicle this is not a surprise you want to run into and be completely blind-​sided with. Plus their company rental although more cost efficient is filthy! The seats were covered with animal and people hair. The car smelled like dog. I LOVE dogs, but this was horribly inappropriate on so many levels!
Unfortunately this location has much to learn with getting the rental process down smoothly. Especially when you had over 2 weeks to straighten everything out and be ready for the customer!
Finally, it was getting close to the end of an 8hr shift for my contact, so since I hadn’t received a call all day. I decided to call and check up on my vehicle. I was then told my car was at another location etc. which was a bit upsetting. why did my car get moved and why didn’t I just go to that location in the first place. Less is more. don’t explain the small steps of your process or that you are joyriding my car to various locations. I’m already off-​kilter from not actually having my car. Only because I called did I find out that my car was actually done. So I went to pick it up. again the front desk clerk was not available to check me out because she was at another location. and even after waiting 10 – 15 minutes (because I beat my car to the pick-​up). she never showed. Apparently the estimators do not walk you out to the car and go over some things. kind of like a customer service closure to what has occurred. take some hints from Jiffy Lubes close of service practice please!
The work itself is fabulous as expected. The rest of the process leaves something to be desired. I am not sure I will give them a 3^rd chance. hopefully I just don’t ever need them again.

In the past I’ve received onsistently great service at this G&C location on a few occasions. If money ain’t an issue… If it ain’t coming out of my pocket like having been rear ended twice in a span of 5 months!!! You will learn real fast… G&C is in the top tier of autobody shops! I don’t hesitate to choose G&C.
There’s s reason why they are a top rated body shop in Nor Cal. Highly recommend you set up an appointment for an estimate vs walking in. Most importantly if your insurance or the other party’s is involved. This shop ONLY deals with Geico, Farmer’s and AAA coverage.

My car sustained damage in one of Marin’s shopping mall parking lots. When I reported the incident to Geico, they referred me here.
The team that manages this shop are some of the nicest, upbeat people I’ve met in Marin. No pretentious attitudes here! They were right on time for my appointment, and processed me quickly through the paperwork. I was in and out of there in a flash!
I was surprised when the estimate for repair was only 2 days. AND — they were good on their word! When I picked up my shiny, newly washed and vacuumed car, I could not tell where the damage had been. A perfect repair and paint job. I was even provided with a small jar of car paint (brush included) for any future nicks and scratches.
Their estimates were well within reason of two other shops’ estimates; their office wall is covered in «Best Of…» Plaques and a Better Business Bureau endorsement.
Coulton took good care of me, and even put new batteries in my key fobs as an extra service.
Hopefully my car won’t get banged up again, but I’m happy to refer other folks that need a good body shop. Thank you for doing such a fine job!

This was a really great experience at first. I needed some work on dent the back door got in a mini collision which was not my fault. It was quick and easy. Coleton is very polite and professional.
The people from the rental (which was supposed to be complimentary) attempted to get $ 16.98 a day from me and I didn’t like that very much.
MOST IMPORTANTLY– I drove out of there with several electrical problems related to the locks on the back doors which evidently had the insides removed during the body work. The hatchback didn’t open anymore, the horn alarm when the car is locked stopped working and while I am driving the back door locks are popping and re-​setting.
So I had to take the car back yet another day for them to fix all the problems with the locks… AND the manager was nasty about it.
Much to my surprise I get a call from an angry frustrated manager who evidently thinks it is OK to vent onto customers. Perhaps since this is an autobody shop they lack the competence to diagnose electrical problems? This guy with a mouthful of bad attitude said they needed to put it through diagnostics and that they had determined an «after market» alarm system. This manager issued me an ultimatum that «if» they run it through diagnostics and determine that they are not responsible then I will pay the diagnostic fee. He told me that if I did not agree to pay this fee beforehand that he would «wash his hands of me»
IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY DID TO MY CAR!
It is awfully COINCIDENTAL that I didn’t have any of these problems before I drove into G+C auto Body.
I would Never go here again. The place is way too small with an impossible parking lot. It has gone on for two weeks now and the dent was miniscule. I hate driving unfamiliar rentals.
A bad experience to say the least. I am also dropping my Geico policy. This was a real EYE opener.
Geico, G&C Auto Body has just cost you a customer. GOODBYE.

Had a good experience there. Friendly, upfront, repairs came out great, and no surprises. I would definitely go there again.

We had an excellent experience at G+C Autobody! The staff members were extremely nice, warm, intelligent, responsive… it was unusual to be treated so extremely well. The office is tidy and pleasant, too. And yes, the repairs! They did them in one business day, and the autobody work is PERFECT: you literally can’t see that there was any damage done. AND they offered to deliver the car to our home. I would give them 6 stars if I could! Will definitely return there {hopefully won’t have to} and recommend them highly to one and all.

Something must be karmically amiss in my life, sending me to G&C twice in the last 6 months. However, the service and quality of work at G&C has been so stellar what could have been ordeals were simply inconveniences. Galen at the Mill St. location was friendly, handled everything with my insurance, got me in a rental car, gave me peace of mind and had my car back to me in just a few days.

Geico insurance set me up with this auto body shop as one of their preferred vendors when my car was hit by their client. I was very happy with the entire process and service I received. All work was well explained and they did an excellent job in repairing the damage. I’m very happy with the work and customer service. While I hope I don’t need them again, would definitely select G&C myself if I do need future body repairs.

We had our Mercedes Benz repaired at G & C Auto Body on Mill Street in San Rafael. Galen and Andy were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make us happy customers. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

My Bf totaled his car and they came to the rescue! They towed his car all the way here. The staff was friendly and understanding. They also will help him in his purchase for a new car in making sure its in a good condition for free.

Really great experience at the G&C shop on Mill St. Everyone there was extremely nice, and the whole process was very painless. Had my hood/​grill replaced within a couple days, and my car looked as good as new when they were done. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Going to an auto body repair place can be a sketchy experience. You typically walk into a disheveled «Office» with crap everywhere and nobody to greet you. After you wait for a while you eventually have to stick your head into the shop part of the operation and try and get the attention of somebody over the din of sanding and banging. Eventually somebody in dirty clothes greets you with a sound only slightly more intelligible than a grunt. G&C Auto Body is nothing like that. I have had my car repaired there twice over the last few years and each experience was stellar. The most recent time Travis, the employee who also handled me the first time, came out from the office and GREETED ME IN PERSON. He already knew who I was and why I was there. Freaking brilliant! So much of any business is about personal service and trust. When your experience starts out this way you are immediately at ease. There are so many details I could go into. How Travis called Enterprise to come get me the minute I got there so I wouldn’t have to wait long. The quality of the work: excellent. The cleanliness of my car when I got it back. But the kicker that put the experience over the top was when Travis drove my car to my house and returned the rental car to Enterprise saving me a trip back and forth. That’s customer service. Don’t waste your time anywhere else.

To say that I am pleased with my experience at G&C Auto is an understatement, and I’d give them more than 5 stars if I could. From start to finish, Bill constantly kept me in the loop RE: the status of my car, options for repair, and timing for completion. Bill and the rest of the staff/​team were pleasant, professional, personable, and accommodating. Plus, there were non-​obvious issues with my car that G&C Auto identified and corrected with ease. They were also incredibly understanding of my situation with car insurance, working closely with my while the other party’s car insurance accepted liability. In short, they turned a car accident that was a MASSIVE headache in to a solution that was a breeze. THANK YOU, Bill and G&C Auto!

I was extremely pleased with the level of service at G and C. Bill really went out of his way to handle everything. Everyone was super friendly and nice. They really pay extra attention to detail and go the extra distance Including a ride to pickup my car. The work on my car looked really good. I would definitely recommend this business.

Best. Autobody repair shop. Ever. Had a a pretty jacked up hood and front bumper that needed repair. This shop handled everything perfectly. I dropped off my car, my rental car was waiting, and I was off to work in 25 min. The car was completed when the said it would be. Very high quality of work. I worked with Andy and he was awesome. I love my car but hate having to take it in for service. This place made it a very painless experience! Highly recommended!

I recently had my car repaired at G&C. I dropped it off on Monday afternoon and it was ready to go Wednesday evening! The works is impeccable. You can’t tell that there was any damage at all. The staff is professional, efficient and Bill Carras kept me informed through the process. I am so pleased. I hope never to need their services again, but if I do have damage to my car, they are the only choice for me. And I will tell all my friends to go there. Thanks guys!
