Spectacular food. Best corned beef hash I have EVER had, hands down. My wife ordered their Mammy and Pappy which is an eggs and deliciousness dish. Their home made corned beef hash with hash browns, sausage and some corn mixed together for a mixture of pure heaven. This dish is supposed to come with a fried pie but they were out so we had to suffer through a substitute, their banana cream pie. Best banana cream pie I have EVER sampled. I had their potatoe pancakes and eggs. The potatoe pancakes are seasoned beautifully and topped with cheese. Served with sour cream and I am happy happy happy. We have also had their bread pudding. BEST bread pudding I have ever had. Seeing a trend in my opinion of the food served here? My mother is a great cook and its bread pudding destroys the bread pudding my mom used to make. The service is the tops too. I can’t remember her name but she has been or waitress twice now and each time she has been a joy. The owner cooks during the day and another fella in the afternoon. Both of these guys are awesome. Very nice and accommodating. My first visit there I wanted potatoe pancakes but they cook a different menu in the afternoon. The afternoon cook didn’t know how to make them but gave it a shot anyways to accommodate me. They weren’t as good as the owners potatoe pancakes I got to eat this morning but quite yummy. I was impressed and pleased with the service and their willingness to bend over backwards for us. The menu has quite a few Creole selections that I am looking forward to eating. The décor is eclectic and fun. They have a cichlid tank with quite a few very busy and colorful cichlids that are fun to watch. This place is a true jem. Great service, even better food and out of this world deserts. If you’re looking for a treat go here. While in town to eat at Beach City Grill might as well visit the Korean Friendship Bell, Point Fermin park or visit the beach. I’m lucky, we live a few blocks away San Pedro is so blessed with phenomenal restaurants.

We went there last night 1÷16÷16 I went with 7 friends. Most of us had fish we all enjoyed the fish. A the cajun fries are great. Desserts are yummy although last night we did not have time for them. Stu the new owner came around to see if we were doing okay a few times. The cook Poncho came out too. Great place when in San Pedro eat there! Going to say he will work with you for groups but they have to sit 4 to a table.

This place is closed. I reported it to Unilocal but they haven’t updated the page yet. The owner had some sort of health emergency and is recovering. I don’t think it’s been open for at least 6 months now.

Been here 3 – 4 times and liked it. Nice overall vibe and friendly waitress. A little pricey but a nice change of pace and a good local business to support. Go check it out!

Thank God this wasn’t our first date or i would be single once again for dragging her into this ass crack also known as the Beach city grill. The food sucked and even more insulting was the price. Expect to pay top dollar for bottom quality. The real crime in San Pedro is places like this.

This is actually my first Unilocal review and I’m sorry it’s not a good one. I really wanted to like this place, I’ve been looking at it since I started working in San Pedro about 2 months ago. The people working were VERY nice, hence the second star, and I understand having higher prices. I asked a few questions about the veggie sandwiches and decided on the eggplant one. I work 2 blocks away, so I paid my 11 dollars and went to my desk. When I opened the box I kind of wanted to cry, there was a teeny tiny soggy sandwich, with NO side. I skipped adding avocado because it was an extra cost. Being vegetarian, this isn’t the first time it’s happened to me, but please Beach City, add a small salad if you’re going to charge this much for a sandwich. 11 dollars is kind of absurd for a tiny sandwich with no side.

Everything here is amazing! I’d advise to try out their specialty dishes – voodoo shrimp, surf and turf, pork merengue, and of course their fried plantains and Cajun dirty rice. Desserts are something to experience as well. Pedro is an awesome cook, super friendly and Kristen the server is hospitable as ever. It’s super laid back here. You’ll always feel like a regular!

Two stars for being too pricey and leaving Unsatisfied… Starters: Cajun sweet potato fries: When they arrived they didn’t look to good. Served with a creamy sweet Cajun tasting sauce, these things are addictive. Don’t let the look fool you. Perfect size for 2 – 3 people. I ate, «Jamaican Me Cajun» sampler. Chicken: was okay. the rub was delicious but the actual chicken was dry. Blackened Grilled Shrimp: Delicious! Very tasty, good size.(Medium) Loved the taste of the grill! Andouille Sausage: Not bad, not great, just good. Fried Plantains: Dry Garlic Bread: soft and crispy! Lunch Partner ate, «Surf and Turf»: Rib Eye steak wasn’t that tasty. Blackened grilled shrimp Coconut Rice Garlic Mushrooms nothing special and lacked taste. Pros: It’s a place in San Pedro that offers a break from the norm AND the staff is super nice and welcoming! Cons: Not worth the price. Conclusion: Both me and my lunch partner agreed. Good but not worth $ 23 for each plate, for lunch. If they lowered their prices a bit, I’d be inclined to try another plate.

This is a small San Pedro original that offers decent food and is nice for a change of pace. They offer a mix of salads, sandwiches and more extensive offerings. It may be a bit pricey compared to a chain but its worth a slight premium for something quirky and creative. Of note is that the restaurant is within walking distance of the Warner Grand Theatre and the Warner Grand Annex and the shows they offer.

So pricey! We have tried this place a few times because we want to like it, but every time we leave we remember that the portions are small and the bill is high. The last time we went, I tried a burger special. The burger was average and it literally had just a few blue cheese crumbles. Fries are extra, but the garlic fries are pretty good. Their desserts are delicious and they give you so many to choose from. If we ever go back it would just be for dessert. The décor is eclectic and unique. I think this place is just not for me :/

Was spending a day in San Pedro about a week ago and found this place on Unilocal — had good reviews and was walking distance from where we were at. It was super empty at lunchtime on a weekday… but it did get busy after awhile. They had a couple of dishes I wanted to try — their menu featured some very unique and tasty-sounding dishes — very tough decision but after some debating with myself — I finally decided to order Chicken Divi Divi — pasta with chicken tossed in a peanut sauce. My boyfriend ordered the other dish that I wanted to try — Gorgonzola Grits and Shrimp Scampi — it was actually on their special menu. It sounded like an interesting combination and turns out it was very good as well. My chicken divi divi was awesome and it was topped with a few big prawns. We also started with their Garlic Fries — however I wasn’t as fond of it because it was a bit soggy not crispy — though very garlicky. The rest of the food was quite delicious though. The service was pretty good — the waitress was very friendly and the server was a interesting dude. The place was pretty small but had cool beachy décor. They even had a pretty interesting dessert menu but I was way too full to try anything. The prices are pretty high though per dish — 15 and up for the entrees and about 7 – 10 for the starters, tacos, burgers or salads. Overall I really liked the food and service so I would definitely try this place again if we are in the area again.

This is a nice little restaurant with a rather eclectic menu setup. They have the regular menu and then they have the specials on the whiteboard that the waitress props up next to your table. It’s kind of confusing but the food was good. Be prepared to have your eyes roaming from the table menu to the whiteboard menu trying to decide what dish you’re going to have. I have to give accolades to the Watermelon Lemonade. Delicious on a hot summer day!

Beach City Grill confuses me. Based on the Unilocal description, I expected a hip fusion restaurant. I should have known that there aren’t many trendy restaurants in San Pedro. BCG is odd. And oddly expensive. $ 8 is what you’ll pay for a not-great single taco. In hot weather, the lack of air circulation in the restaurant makes for a sweaty meal. From what I gather, BCG brands itself as a Cuban/Cajun joint. Confusingly un-Caribbean, the menu overwhelms with options, plus the specials whiteboard adds another layer of information paralysis. The best part of the meal: flaccid sweet potato fries with feta dip. Summary: Beach City Grill serves confusing fusiony food for elevated prices, and may be the most perplexing restaurant in San Pedro.

Has anyone told that crazy paranoid lady who thinks she is being«harassed» by people representing the restaurant that they have really good food?! Indeed it is as the owner stated, the hours are posted, get over yourself lady(I use the term merely as respect for elders). Jalapeño Mac n cheese, chile lime blackened salmon, crème brûlée and everything else yummy and freshly made, this is a sweet spot if you love comfort food. FYI: they don’t serve alcohol but there’s no corkage fee if you want to bring your own spirits. All in all, Unilocalers it’s not a review if you didn’t eat there no kidding!

11÷11÷13: Update: To the Owners of this establishment: Continuing to have your patrons harass me on Unilocal only strengthens my review and the additional reviews of those whom have been displeased with your establishment. I have reported all whom continue to harass me and I will undoubtedly pass this message on to EVERYONE whom may ever by chance dine on 6th street to AVOID Your establishment. Harassing people who write valid reviews only substantiate those reviews and make you look petty. The harrasment does not deter me from leaving reviews nor will I remove this review of your establishment. The true work of a cyber bully, one who will not publish their photo or their name but hides behind Unilocal to harrass others. 5⁄13 Update, some person whom I suspect has some interest in the business contacted me today and told me «I missed out» on this restaurant and review” I do not think she has read any of the reviews, plus she’s never reviewed anything on Unilocal. She obviusly didn’t read my review as I was not critical about the food but the hours and practice of the restaurant on the busiest restaurant locale in SP. However after reading more reviews today, I am glad we DiDNT eat here and 100% never will. May 2013: FAIL! Came here last Saturday after our USS Iowa tour and it was CLOSED for LUNCH. Its tourist season, your located on the most touristy advertised street in San Pedro and you are not open on the weekends. Now that’s just crazy. P. S. Opening at 5pm for dinner when you really don’t have an ultra exclusive dinner menu is also nutz. The Iowa closes at 4pm for tours. and your restaurant doesn’t open till 5pm which means you are loosing business and those who don’t want to wait around another hour for you to open. San Pedro Brewing Co. gladly took our cash.

Such a rare find! I came across this place with a friend as we walked through 6th street trying to find something new to eat. From the outside, the place looks like a store. But on the inside, it’s a friendly café. The decors are unlike any other place I’ve been! There are beach-themed mobiles hanging. The ceiling tiles are all individually decorated. They used beach towels as table cloths! We saw a random dictionary near the window. The chairs had bottle caps glued to it. The table where me and my buddy sat was in a corner, excluded from the other tables… with the front door kinda serving as a barrier. We both thought it would be a great seating place for dates! It took me awhile to choose what to order. There is a very wide selection, and from such a variety of cultures! There was Chinese salad, pastas with Indonesian peanut sauces, thai flavors, of course american foods, Jamaican, seafood, and good ol cajun. The menu name items had a twist to it: I saw adjectives like«awesome,» «dirty.» This place has such character! We ordered their watermelon lemonade because it’s something you don’t see every day. It was pretty good! I thought it would make a good drink to mix alcohol with too. xD I ordered the surf n turf with the thai flavored shrimp(there was also the choice of garlic flavor) and steak. For the sides, I got coconut rice, and their«dirty» rice. The steak was just ok. The shrimp was delicious!!! I recommend it. It also went well with the coconut rice! The dirty was was, unfortunately, bad. Too spicy, and it really did leave a «dirty» taste. My friend got chicken with mango salsa– worth it! And with a side order of dirty rice and some sort of potato soup. The soup was pretty good, nothing too special though. The service was pretty good too. Overall, I’d come here again and again!

The Harmonious Guide to eating Garlic Fries! — by Harmonie T. Eating garlic fries is far from being a sexy activity. It’s messy, it’s sloppy, and it leaves you searching for your small red tin of Unilocal mints. Sorry. Not even Unilocal mints can help you here. But if you follow this simple guide to Beach City Grill’s Garlic Fries, you just might overlook the halitosis and have an enjoyable experience. Several methods can be applied to a huge plate of double-fried fries topped with chopped garlic: THEBALANCEMETHOD This is where you have a small pile of garlic balancing on a fry and you try to pick it up while getting it to your mouth without the garlic falling off. It takes skill, for sure. But it is not the most reliable method for consumption. THESTICKYSAUCEMETHOD This is where you dip the fry into the provided BBQ sauce(or any sauce of choice) and stick the sauce-ed up fry into the chopped garlic to get a few pieces to stick. This method is good but only picks up the smaller pieces of garlic. THECHOPSTICKSMETHOD This is where you use two pieces of short fries(or one long one, folded in half) and tweeze the pieces of garlic in between the fries. This method is most useful for consuming the most garlic! Combinations of these methods can also be useful. My favorite is a mixture of the sticky sauce method and the chopsticks method. Either the BBQ sauce or the ketchup mixed with the Panty Ripper hot sauce makes for a flavorful adhesive. Remember, all the sauces are homemade! ALL the sauces… including the ketchup. I don’t even like ketchup! I like Beach City Grill’s ketchup! Now remember, Garlic Fries are just a side dish. This goes well with any of the following vegan-friendly items: — Yam Taco w/spinach, pico de gallo and garlic sauce(no cheese) — Carrot Curry Soup(try it with the 5 Alarm hot sauce) — Grilled Eggplant Sandwich with garlic sauce(no cheese, no mayo for vegan-friendliness.) Add avocado($ 1) and mushrooms($ 1) for extra yummyness. — wash it all down with freshly made Watermelon Lemonade! After consuming all that garlic and garlic-sauced items, sometimes you’re gonna crave something sweet. What’s a vegan to do when all you see on the dessert board are cheesecakes and dairy/buttered items? Luckily, Beach City Grill’s chef, Pancho, is super awesome and wants to accomodate your needs. Ask for the Fried Plantains, vegan-style and he’ll cook it up without the butter and serve it without the homemade whipped cream. Dip it in a bit of raspberry coulis and you’ll devour it up faster than you can thank Pancho for customizing a dessert for you! Unfortunately, at the end of the meal you still reek of garlic. Don’t fight it. Just accept that you won’t be making out with anyone for the duration on the night. …unless your kissing partner is into that. Hey, who am I to judge? ;P
