Should have reviewed this sooner… absolutely the best! I have been bringing jewelry back and forth here for a few years and have complete trust in these lovely people who run the shop. This place is down the street from the older one and is much larger and has a vast selection of gold, precious stones, and silver jewelry in addition to various other items, many of them musical instruments, etc, at far better prices than in a regular jewelry or department store. Forget a bank loan… if you need cash, can highly recommend the owners, who are extremely honest.

I purchased few of my guitars there(plus some pedals) at different times. Guy is really nice and he definitely knows guitars. So far the prices I got there are unmatched by any other local store(I did get similar price on my other guitar from private purchase, but I really think I got lucky). Great place with great prices, and mostly great equipment(as any second hand store what they have varies). I am a regular there and would recommend this store to anyone looking for musical instrument(they have pretty much anything from trumpets and flutes to violins and guitars).

Just came from here and was interested in buying a guitar. I looked at a few and waited for someone to ask if I needed help. I made eye contact with a person there and they just looked the other way. So i left.

I stopped in before last Christmas. It was pretty small, and I agree with the other reviews that it was dark and cramped… But, I like these places, you can dig around(well, look around) and find really cool stuff. I bought some nice necklaces for someone, and they gave me a good deal, and the guy was pretty nice. I expected someone grumpy. Not so. I can’t wait to see their new place, they moved 2 doors down from the original location.

This was the second pawn shop I have ever been to, and when I first walked in, I must admit that it seemed kinda dark and creepy(just like the movies) because the first one I went to visit(Numis) was so bright and sunny. Even though I didn’t end up pawning my ring here, it was a really good experience. The man was kind of soft spoken so you have to really concentrate in order to understand what he’s saying, but he was super nice. He was very honest and said that the way for us to get the best buck for our bang(haha does that work) is through sites like Craigslist or eBay because then we won’t be going through a third party or middleman. He also said that his shop is more of a place where you would take broken jewelry or gold but not whole pieces. Despite all that, he still gave me the best deal for my ring — about double what Numis was offering! I don’t think I’ll be pawning the ring after all since I’m not getting very good offers(not even 1⁄3 of the original price) but if I do, then I think I might be back to Alfa Pawn.
