Vanity Medical Aesthetics

I was expecting the same quality and service from Vanity that I receive from its sister company (Better Health Medical Group and Day Spa in Monrovia; owned/​managed by same person).
I came in for a cortisone shot for my cystic acne and was immediately turned off by the front desk receptionist and Alice (who administered the shot). I had a bad feeling right when I walked in — the two girls were acting immature/​ditsy and chatting with each other while asking me to fill out a form. Not the type of person you want to inject steroids into your face.
So Alice and I go into a room and she asks me to point out where my cyst is. She confirms where it is and injects the shot. I looked in a mirror to dab away the blood and see that she injected the cortisone a few centimeters from my actual cyst.
I asked her why she didn’t inject the shot right into the cyst, and she told me that if the pimple doesn’t go away in a few days, I can come back for another injection. Uh, I would never go back to her: 1) I’m wasting my time and money if she’s not injecting the cyst correctly, and 2) I’m increasing my chance of dimpling.
It took me 5 minutes to check out because the front desk receptionist was talking on the phone and also trying to ring up my credit card. Multi-​tasking is not her strong suit.
I had to go to Better Health to get another cortisone shot two days later (surprise surprise, Alice’s injection didn’t do anything for my skin).
Never going to Vanity again. Still love Better Health, though.

Vanity contacted me several times after I wrote my review and left messages offering a free IPL treatment. The offer is nice on their part, but all I wanted was a consultation. I never called them back since my interest has waned since I first started researching this procedure.

Nice office and very friendly staff. They do try to sell you products and services while you’re here for appointments, but that’s their job. They are at least polite about it and it’s not a hard sell.
I found this place because I followed Julie from another clinic that was temporarily closed. Julie’s great. Always does the best job with my Botox. She explains what she’s doing and gives directions on follow up. She also accepts that I only need/​want a very little and does’t try to convince me to buy more. I’ve always had great results here too, unlike another place I tried recently and reviewed. That was a mistake. I’ll try to stick with Julie now, even though cheaper deals offered on various voucher sites.
The office at Vanity is nice and comfortable. The only strange thing is that the procedure rooms I’ve seen have partitions rather than solid walls between them, making one feel that their conversations are not private. Also the needles don’t seem to enter as smoothly. Not sure what this is about, but I don’t like it. However, this clinic is closer, nicer, and the staff is friendlier than the clinic that I went to previously, so I’ll deal with the needles that make a crunch sound: O

I’ve been an avid customer at this place for over a year and my skin is amazing. They do a variety of treatments such as IPL, silkpeel facials, masks, etc. What I love about this place is that the staff is friendly and personable. They really try to cater to your every facial need and do what is best for your skin. They’re not pushy on selling products or pushing you to do treatments you don’t need.
I heard that they’re really good at doing laser hair removal treatments as well. Its their «specialty,» but I haven’t tried to personally.
Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the treatments and facials. They also have package deals that they offer :)
