Very small neighborhood bar. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a nice lady sitting at the bar. Even though it is all regulars, we felt very comfortable. This is in my daughter’s new neighborhood and she’s excited about being able to walk here and watch cardinals games and just hang out. You won’t see any ashtrays, but smoking is allowed and is very prevalent. We had 2 beers and a whiskey and Coke and it cost $ 8. Definitely a great value!

Once Upon a Time, there was a teeny tiny dive bar in south Saint Louis and this teeny tiny bar was called, The Silverleaf Lounge. The bar is full of smoke, serves cheap drinks and is full of characters that would be perfect for a reality show. CHEAPDRINKS! Seriously, the only way you can enjoy a cheaper drink is to drink at home. We ordered 3 Michelob Ultra’s and the bill was only $ 6. Don’t make the same mistake that I did and that would be asking, «What Schlafly’s beer do you have.» When I did ask, the response from the bartender was classic. Her eyes bugged out, she pulled her back like a diva and responded, «No, we have AB products.» She put me in my place and had me feeling like a snob for requesting a craft beer… LOL When drinking in a dive bar, you never know who you will run in to. One of my drinking buddies ran in to one his co-workers from a previous job. Both were surprised to see each other in a dive bar. No need to worry. What happens in a local dive bar is like what happens in Las Vegas, it stays there. If you are not claustrophobic, go have a drink at The Sileverleaf Lounge. It is an experience everyone in STL should experience.

Locally known as the Firefighters Bar, this tiny dive was fantastic! Super cheap drinks, great bartenders and patrons that are full of South City flavor, this is truly a neighborhood bar, you can’t pass up. Don’t forget to take a peek(don’t get stuck) in South City’s smallest bathroom!

I’m really hesitant to write this review as I don’t want the word t get out. This is a great little dive bar, a couple high top table and about five bar stools. We dropped in on a pub crawl in South City a while back and found this gem. The co-owners are a pair of characters and this bar has some quirky charm that you have to love. Settled up to the bar and ordered two daft beers and it cost $ 4. Can’t beat that. It’s not fancy, but it’s the place that your dad or grandpa would be a regular at. They are welcoming to outsiders unlike some dive bars which was nice. I’m not sure when we will be back, but I know we will.

I have been going to the leaf on and off for 4 years. It is a tiny little bar with about 8 bar stools and three tables. I got together with about 15 friends and we filled the place. It has a ton of cool firefighter memorabilia on the walls, homemade beef jerky, and cheap draft beer. This place has to have the cheapest drinks in the city. I can get totaled in their with a $ 20. The definitely have a set of regulars and the staff is great. It is the kind of joint you could go in there alone and make a few friends by the end of the night. They do allow smoking in there and your clothes will smell terrible if you spend any amount of time in there, other than that… CHEERS!

The Silverleaf is a teeny low key neighborhood bar planted in the middle of a residential neighborhood on Hereford(a few blocks north of Chippewa, 2 blocks west of Kingshighway). Aside from being small, the bar is divey, smoky, lined with panel walls, has limited liquor choices, old fashioned juke box, etc. That said, the staff is a hoot, drinks are dirt cheap and the place is always choc full of local characters — young and old, foreign and local, oddball and clean cut. In other words, this is a bar you will probably laugh in and stumble out of.
