I love this place, but be prepared to wait a good 20mins for the delicious pi :) Just place your order and go to a near by hookah place and wait.

my wife is staying in the central west end for the summer and I was visiting for the weekend. We decided to walk around the neighborhood until we found something that caught our eye… and noses. Admittedly, it wasn’t our first choice and with every other place nearby absolutely packed, we were a little worried that it was slow and had plenty of open tables. I think everyone else was just missing out. As soon as we walked in the door, i noticed on the huge board behind the bar that they serve my favorite rum, 10 Cane. Double excited because this rum isn’t produced anymore and it’s near impossible to find. We were seated within a few minutes and the staff was great. Our server was training a new employee and for the most part, did a great job. As i mentioned already, i was pumped the had 10 Cane, so I ordered one. He told me he wasn’t sure if they had it and I had to point it out behind the bar to him… this was pretty much the only thing that didn’t go right all night. Wife ordered hummus, which i’m not a fan of anyway, but the bread that came out with it… Holy. Cow. Order it just to get some of that. It’s AMAZING. We ordered a thin and a pan pizza, pepperoni, meatballs… nothing crazy. Their cornmeal thin crust was phenomenal… the pan pizza is Chicago style. I’m not a huge fan because it tends to be sauce heavy, but both were really good and the leftover thin crust was great for breakfast on Sunday morning. I will be back for sure on future visits to town!

The pizza is mediocre especially considering how expensive it is. The staff and atmosphere remind me of an appleby’s. With all the amazing pizza in St. Louis, this place can’t compete.

After a long day of traveling and having not seen my coworkers in months, a reunion at Pi Pizza was an excellent way to wind down the day. Despite it being Pi Week they had a table ready to go for our large group. Our server nice and, most importantly, tolerant of our gregarious group’s out-of-towners’ indecision. We ended up passing on pizza-ordering duties for the group to the St. Louisans and just concentrated on getting what drinks we wanted. I opted for the Shook Up, Shook Down — bourbon, ginger, lime, bitters, and their house-made ginger beer. As with pretty much any combination of ginger and bourbon, it was delicious and refreshing. At $ 10 it was a little steep for a pizza place, but I’m also blessed to live in the land of cheap liquor and craft cocktails around every corner, so my view might be a little skewed. While waiting for our pizza we started with the Pi Squares appetizer — mushrooms and kale on a base of fontina that was breaded and served with tomato sauce. I’m not a fan of mushrooms but I honestly didn’t notice them and had to restrain myself from eating multiple gooey squares. One of the benefits of Pi is that you can order specialty pizzas in halves, so we had two deep dish pies but four varieties to choose from. I went for the Kirkwood, a simple combo of mozzarella, meatballs, basil, and red pepper. It was delicious and just the right amount of filling. I was on the border of being able to eat another half a slice of something, but knowing that the next couple of days were going to be food-filled I opted to take it easy. If I find myself near a Pi again, I’ll happily head back.

I’ve been to Pi in Kirkwood, I’ve been to Pi in The Loop, and now I can say I’ve been to Pi in the Central West End! Aesthetically speaking, this location might be my favorite. It’s eclectic and fun plus it has a great patio with a great view of the CWE. If you know me at all, I’m a glutton for Pi Pizza… some might say, «he’s a glutten.» I always eat too much and never regret it. I always get the deep dish. The cornmeal crust will change your life. While I was here I tried vegan pizza for the first time. Wasn’t my thing but the vegan in the group loved it! They have a signature appetizer called Pi Squares that are little baked balls of veggies. I recommend avoiding them. They’re flavorless and are just a worse version of pizza. My only other complaint is the cocktail and beer game is a little weak. They don’t really carry many local brews and their cocktails sway to the too sweet side. If you’re wanting pizza and thinking of Pi, the answer is «DOIT!

Good service. Our waiter was super polite. Fairly good pizza. Not the best I’ve ever had, but I enjoyed it. I strongly encourage getting the garlic bread.

Went here with work buds on my first night in town! I dug the modern layout of the place and we sat down got to order some drinks and our pizza selections were made! I think I was the only Vegan at the table but my crew was nice enough to order a large vegan pie! We asked the waiter for recommendations and he totally killed it! I dug the super crispy crust, and the toppings were fresh and unique. It would not have been a pizza I would normally order but they knocked it out of the park! Topped with Vegan cheese too! I dug this place a lot! Super clean, great server, great pizza, good beer selection! Top notch!

Great pizza in St. Louis! Deep dishes of all sorts seem to be their jam, but it’s not their only offering — thin crust, vegan ‘za, great salads… something for everyone on this menu, no doubt. I rocked a Greek salad and really loved it, but of course I couldn’t leave without trying some pi. BBQ chicken = pretty dang good! Fun/eclectic décor — think funky, repurposed light fixtures, chalkboards, etc. — and thoughtful service rounded out my experience. Well done, Pi!

Holy wow such good food!!! We went on Pi day(3⁄14) and it was so good, and an amazing deal! I was really impressed with our waiter, he was very kind and knew a lot about the food. We went with the Delmar and the Central West End and they were very different but very yummy! I really enjoyed the vibe and the food.

I just wrote a super long 5 star review and I somehow lost it all. Long story short, best deep dish pizza I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. The cornmeal crust is perfection, the tomato sauce is so rich, and the cheese was not too overbearing and in just the right amount. you won’t regret it.

I have to give Pi Pizzeria four stars for last night’s appetizers. We stopped in to get a quick bite and I have fallen in love with their… chicken wings. That’s right, chicken wings. We decided to split them and I’ll know next time to get some just for me. To me, they were delicious. Dry rubbed and oven baked. They were crispy and did not have any stupid flavoring or hot buffalo sauce on them. Large and meaty. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. After the wings, we split an order of the meatballs which were very good but the wings stole this show. Would I come back here? Chicken wings here I come.

By far, my favorite place to dine when visiting STL. Can’t beat the atmosphere of the central west end itself, and Pi is so accommodating, friendly, and clean. Spacious indoors or out. Cocktails are delicious — try the Pi squared. The central west end pizza is one of my favorites… All worth a taste.

I love the deep dish. You should know that for true Chicago pizza it takes a long time to make — it’s worth it. I can taste the flavors and quality. Also had a sangria and it was great. Service was wonderful.

True to their word, we waited about 30 – 40 minutes on a crowded Saturday night, but it was worth it. What we ordered was delicious — I got the thin crust pizza with olives, mushrooms, artichokes and vegan cheese on one half. Started with warm olives and segued with a simple salad. The olives were so tasty and not too strong. The warmth felt like a massage in my mouth. The salad tasted happy and healthy though I would have liked to have a little more dressing. The pizza was outstanding. The entire meal represented the freshest ingredients. The adult beverage was original and so yummy. Too bad we were too full for dessert because I’m sure we missed out, especially with the vegan cookies. I highly recommend this place. Superb food. Superb atmosphere. Superb service. Two thumbs up!

Dinner at Pi was okay but nothing special. Mike and I don’t care for deep dish pizza(too saucy) so we always order a thin crust. We had a bacon, red onion and ground beef pizza. It was good but nothing to write home about. Of course I would go back there. I love pizza.

My husband and I have tried almost every deep dish pizza in Chicago, but this is the by far the best tasting deep dish we’ve had. The sauce is perfectly tart and the cornbread crust(which I disliked at Gino’s) actually stands up to the rest of the pizza and retains its crispiness. Also: Pi makes for delicious leftovers, so don’t be scared — size up! It’ll be worth it. Get the Not-So-Cinis as an appetizer and the Pi Squared to drink for the perfect combo with your pizza.

Great food but not worth the hype. There are several good pizza places around St. Louis. If you do choose to eat here, get one of their deep dish pizzas. Also, i suggest the one in the CWE instead of the one on Washington Ave. Last time I went to WashAve PI my group waited almost an hour and a half for food.

My most favorite pizza ever. I’m addicted to the cornmeal crust, the thick, fresh tomatoes and the perfectly cooked pizzas. Bucktown is my go-to. Understand why President Obama said it’s his favorite pizza.

0.8 miles from the med campus is a pretty well recommended pizza place. We arrived on a Saturday evening. The décor inside was party-like and pretty typical. The music was a bit too loud. They offer deep dish cornbread pizza and thin crust pizzas. They let you split the pizzas in half, with different toppings on each half. I ordered a ½ Delmar and ½ Bucktown cornmeal deep dish pizza and a friend of mine ordered a ½ Grove and ½ Hill. The Delmar was a roast chicken pizza with Pappy’s BBQ sauce, and bucktown was roast chicken and artichoke. The Grove was sopressata and oregano, and the hill was pepperoni and salami. The deep dish pizza was definitely better. The thin crust ends up soggy, and the small thin crust is a bit too small. The deep dish pizza crust is great! Crunchy throughout and the crust s the bet part. Our favorites were the Delmar and the grove. I would’ve preferred the grove on deep dish, because the sopressata was delicious and could’ve used the extra body that the cornbread texture would’ve provided, but oh well — now we know. The prices here a bit too steep for my taste. 9″ small deep dish was $ 18, and the 12′ small thin crust was also around there. It would take over $ 25 to fill my tummy here :[ The topping selection is pretty nice. There’s fresh mozzarella, sopressata, goat cheese, anchovy, and artichoke that you can add to your pizzas! Happy Eating!

There were great outdoor seating options, but it was a little warm so we sat inside. The garlic bread was a standout with an actual freshly roasted head of garlic to spread on top, as well as the butter that had a nuance of garlic. The spicy pickles did not live up to their«spicy» name but were decent. The Greek goddess salad had so much potential, but there was a flavor missing. It needed more toppings in general to take it to the next level. We also ordered the Maplewood thin crust pizza. Great combo of flavors and the cornmeal(which seems to be their signature move) was good on the thin crust, which is all we can speak to.

Pi is one of the best, if not the best restaurant in town where you can get a Chicago-style deep dish pizza. I’ve been to this location twice, the most recent time being a few nights ago. I always get the South SIde Classico and it’s always good! They have thin crust pizzas as well. Although I’ve never tried it, my friend liked his thin crust pepperoni pizza. The service here is good and the ambiance makes for a good date spot. The prices aren’t cheap. My small deep dish ssc pizza is $ 18, however both times I’ve been here I was only able to eat half of it there at the restaurants. So for the price, you get more than one meal which is good.(It’s all about the value, right). Because I’ve only been to the CWE location, i can’t really compare my experience to any of the other locations. One day I’ll go to one of the other locations but I’m sure the quality of the food and service will be on point at those locations as it is with this location. I think a lot can be said though for a STL-based Chicago-style pizza place to be the favorite pizzaria of President Obama, who had lived in Chicago for years. Mad props to Pi for that!

Very bad service especially the greeter at the door. The Assistant Manager tried to smooth things over but the fact that the restaurant was empty and they would not sit 3 of a party of 5 until the party is complete was unfortunate. We even explained that the three of us were the only ones eating as our friends were joining us for drinks but NO we were shut down. We ended up at PW where we truly enjoyed our dining experience. Just go to PW Pizza.

My wife and I recently moved to St. Louis from NYC and have been on the lookout for a decent slice of pizza since we arrived almost 5 months ago. Sadly our search for New York style pizza(i.e. good pizza) continues. However, we really enjoyed our deep dish pizza from Pi Pizzeria. We ordered a pepperoni and sausage pie and we both really enjoyed it. We ordered it via Food Peddler which is a delivery option here in St. Louis which is pretty cool. Thus, I can’t comment on the restaurant experience itself. We enjoy the pizza enough we will order from here again. Still miss New York style pizza though…

I haven’t been here for awhile. However, I have no major desire to go back. The servers were always nice and thoughtful. I like the serves and it is consistant. My issue it the food. It doesn’t seem to be that great. It seems like it’s lacking for the price of the food.

This update is for a recent evening experience at Pi, not for the great coffee bar in the morning. I’d say it’s like night and day between the two, but, of course, it is. I’ve never flown first class, but Pi in the morning is like what I envision first class to be: luxurious, smooth, and stylish. A few nights ago, Pi was more like a bumpy ride on a school bus that I unsmilingly recall. My friend and I went to Pi to conclude our first and only annual Central West End Weeknight Shopping Trip. The trip was sub-par, and Pi was no exception. Drinks: We’d eaten separately before and stopped in for a drink. There weren’t many hot drinks, alcoholic or non-, from which to select something. Friend went with a cocktail that cost $ 9. When it arrived, she was disappointed because it was really small. In her words, they were stingy about the size of their drinks. I asked about hot chocolate, as the weather had just turned cold and we’d probably walked some two miles in the windiness, but the bartender described the bitter hot chocolate in such a manner that I took her to be recommending I not purchase it. So I had water. This didn’t help me warm up. Neither did the cold chairs. Food: My friend ordered chips and dip. When she got a bill for around $ 17 for the drink and appetizer, she deemed them overpriced. I ordered the bada bing salad, but asked for romaine lettuce rather than field greens and to hold the gorgonzola and almonds. This was done and the salad was delicious with its bing cherries and raspberry vinaigrette, but I was charged an extra $ 0.75 for adding romaine, even though it was a sub. I don’t know how much romaine costs. Maybe it’s really expensive, but I didn’t like being charged for it. If I order it again, I’ll check on the charging, but I don’t know when I’ll have dinner — even a light supper — at Pi again.

We ordered a deep dish to-go. Unfortunately, by the time we got home the pizza was cold but Pi was not at fault for that… they actually even called us to let us know when the pizza was ready, which I appreciated. The cornmeal crust and the large amount of sauce made me a huge fan! I’m a sauce freak, and I love how they pile it on. For all you non-saucers, the great thing is that you can take it off. Also loved the big chunks of tomato in the sauce. The cornmeal crust gives the pizza a nice twist on texture, although I admit it doesn’t fare as well as a non-cornmeal dough base when its not warm. The sausage was also delicious. Cold or warm, we still enjoyed our pizza and now I am really intrigued and curious about their thin crust. Maybe I’ll find out on my next STL visit.

Pi is one of my favorite parts of visiting STL. What a great restaurant! Their deep dish is certainly the best you can get within a half hour drive of down town. Their thin crust is good as well, but getting thin crust here is like going to a steak place and ordering a salad — sure it’s probably fine but why would you do that? Pi can have a sizable wait time — so be warned or arrive early. Speaking of wait times — they’re pretty fast at making deep dish pizzas — something like 35 – 40 minutes. I’d love to know how they do that — whenever I make deep dish it cooks for closer to an hour! The CWE location is definitely the most hip of the Pi locations. As hip places tend to be — it can get very loud. Lighting is kept dim, but not so dim that you can’t appreciate various funky paintings on the wall. Service is great. The deep dish is amazingly tasty — every combination I’ve gotten has been good. Interesting trivia about Pi: they got at least some of their recipes(with permission, as far as I understand) from Little Star/Blue Line in the San Francisco area. All in all — awesome restaurant. Among the best STL has to offer.

That’s right, over my last trip I did visit two different Pi Pizzeria’s. And this experience clued me in to one thing I really like about this small chain of restaurants: while the menus seem the same, the interiors each reflect the neighborhood in which they’re located. Case in point, the CWE Pi is decidedly more fancy than their Delmar Loop location, but both serve the same delicious pizza! To accommodate my step-mother, we opted for two different pies on their gluten free crust. Both were excellent! We did both a Bucktown(mozzarella, roasted hormone-free chicken, artichoke hearts, red bell peppers, green olives, red onions, feta, sun-dried tomatoes) and a Central West End(mozzarella, volpi prosciutto, goat cheese, grape tomatoes, red onions, arugula), and both were winners! Our server was excellent and right on top of our needs. He was great at helping us navigate the menu and my drinks never ran empty. Not much else to say beyond that. Great food? Great service? What more do you need? 5 stars!

Granted — I’ve never eaten Chicago style pizza in Chicago, so I can’t personally verify the authenticity of the pizza here, but my Detroit-born and Chicago-raised boyfriend gives Pi his stamp of approval so it must stack up pretty well against the competitors! I personally love the pizza here. Of course, I’m talking about the deep dish. It’s so insanely delicious. So much cheese, so much delicious sauce, and so much perfectly delectable — crunchy — incredible crust. If I could afford a meal here every day for the rest of my life, I might well consider it. The boys that own Pi know what they’re doing when it comes to pizza. This becomes overwhelmingly obvious once you branch out from the standard pepperoni or meat pizzas, and try one of their neighborhood specials, or even the special of the day, when they’re offering one. My favorite of their regular selections so far is the Delmar. Normally I prefer the sauce on top variety, but there’s something about her that has me coming back for more. The atmosphere here is exceedingly cozy. Funky lighting and quirky décor really give this place a great vibe for a date or bringing any visiting guests to. Sure, parking is a hassle, but that’s expected. It’s the CWE. This place is dressed to impress, no matter if you’re looking at the delicious combinations of toppings that might adorn their pies, or at the restaurant itself. Only the most stuffy and closed-minded of foodies will be disappointed here. For everyone else, this place is a guaranteed hit.

I absolutely LOVE Pi. The atmosphere and the food are wonderful! On Friday night my boyfriend and I went to Pi for a date night. The hostess was extremely welcoming and sat us where we wanted to be seated outside. We ordered Pi bites –so yummy– and a glass of Pinot noir! Our waitress was extremely nice and very patient. We then ordered a small, deep dish pizza –half kirkwood/half pepperoni. When it came out the waitress told us that they screwed up the order and did the whole thing kirkwood with pepperoni. She then told us she could make us a new one and we could keep the one they brought out. The manager brought us the new pizza along with two more glasses of wine, both of which were on the house. The manager and our waitress were very apologetic! I absolutely love a business that takes care of it’s customers. Pi took great care of us and because of this, we will definitely be back!
