As a transplanted east coaster from Phila and New Jersey, I must attest to the quality of their pizzas! They are absolutely delicious and there are surely many choices for pizza, but not like this one! The sauce, ingredients, the crust and the freshness all come through to make your mouth water with every bite! I have eaten pizza at Joanies many times, and other great places, but this is my favorite and I am quite discriminating. After 13 years in St Louis, it is wonderful to have a great pizza that reminds me of home!

*****CLOSED***** Per their website, I learned this location is officially closed down. At first I thought it was sad, until I read on to learn that they will be delivering out of their newer Ivy Street location to the STL metro area. That means I don’t even have to get off my arse to go pick up delicious pizza anymore! From their website: «Effective 12÷25÷13 we have closed our Soulard Feraro’s Location to focus on our new location at 7704 Ivory Ave. We would like to thank all of our great Soulard patrons who helped us feel so welcome over the years. We will still be delivering to the Soulard area. As a matter of fact, we will now be delivering to almost the entire Saint Louis metro area! So keep calling in those deliveries, and come check out our expanded location in South City — Bigger and better than ever! And we are only just 8 minutes further South! Our new South City location features a full bar, music venue and a much increased seating capacity!»

A bit pricey in my opinion, and what’s with the $ 10 minimum on a card business, seems shady to do that these days. Expect to wait.

Yeah, it’s true, no more dine-in. You can eat your slice on the curb if you wish. Nope, not even a bench outside on the patio. Feraro’s has a great patio but they can’t see the forest for the trees. The pizza is really good here but their delivery service flat out sucks, mostly due to incompetence at the telephone IME. If you have ever been inside on a Friday or Saturday night you know what I mean: more drama than a Best of Jerry Springer show. Come on Joanie’s, it’s time to serve slices.

Love this place, but they took all the seating away. Carry out only. I feel kind of weird eating my pizza on the curb. Please put some outdoor seating back. I didn’t even know if you all were open without any outdoor searing. Just weird. Very weird.

Damn that was good. I got tired of all of the pizza options around St. Louis and the chain restaurants, so I decided to give this place a try. I’ll be coming back here whenever I feel like getting a pizza from take-out.

Good pizza, not exactly Jersey pizza, but good.

I am from Chicago and husband is from New York so we are not the biggest STL style pizza fans to say the least. It took us a while to find our go-to pizza joint but this is it. The garlic knots, pizza and zeppoles are scrumptious. It reminds my husband of pizza out east, which is the biggest compliment you can get. Highly recommend this for those non-Imo’s believers out there.

I couldn’t help but notice Feraro’s had some mixed reviews, so after my 6th free beer here at the hotel I decided to roll the dice and try some«Jersey style» pizza. We started with the Garlic knots & they were perfect! Soft doughy knots brushed with butter, garlic & grated cheese. The Stromboli was good, with just the right amount of grease from the pepperoni & sausage with a spongy yet crisp outside. The homemade tomato dipping sauce was sweet, cutting the acidity of the tomatoes. The pizza was so Jersey, cut all uneven with big chunks of ham & fresh mushrooms, it didn’t stand a chance. The crust had a nice char, so we didn’t have to tell the kids to finish the crust once. We ordered delivery to the hotel & it was steaming hot as if we picked it up. Delivery was quoted an hour but showed up in less then 45 minutes. The pizza so hit the spot! If one person staying at this hotel decides to order from her based on my review it was worth it. 2 thumbs up from this dude!

I love this pizza so much. As a non-STL style pizza person I generally get really grumpy by what other people recommend as a good pie. I want hot, huge slices of mozzarella covered dough that rose & have a crust. When I found Feraro’s it was as if the heavens opened up and the angels sung out their pizza-loving glory. It’s that good. I never drive straight there. I always call it in, even if I’m gonna eat it with a beer on their patio. There’s nothing worse than the smell of delicious pizza and having to wait. ***BONUSPTS**** go eat some delicious pizza at the Soulard location and grab a shuttle from one of the bars(Great Grizzly Bear) to the Birds game during the summer months.

Awful experience. Friday night, Friend 1, Friend 2 and myself go to Feraro’s. Takes a couple minutes for the waiter to come over and ask for our drinks. Friend 1 also indicates we would like garlic knots as an appetizer while we browse the menu. 10 minutes later, waiter comes back. Friend 2 asks about their Strombolies. The waiter replies«Well, they’re Italian and they end with an i». When we ask for a little more information, he just says«They’re rolled up pizza.» WOWWHAT A SALE! So we ask about the meatball sliders and he says there are 3, two of us should only order one order. The menu clearly says there are 2, but hey maybe he knows something we don’t. We place our orders and begin the wait. And we wait. And we wait some more. 20 minutes later and now 30 minutes past the time we ordered our appetizer, we have nothing but water. Finally waiter dude comes out and apologizes and says«our over is really really hot right now so that’s the delay.» Alright, couldn’t tell us this before I see…10 minutes after that I get my order of mozzarella sticks.(No garlic knots still). 5 minutes later Friend 1 gets her personal pan, 5 minutes after that I get my meatball sliders, then Friend 2 gets her personal pan, 5 minutes later I finally get my ONE slice with mushrooms, and after asking 4 times we FINALLY after an hour get our appetizer AFTER all the food came out.(oh and the meatball sliders definitely only had two, and they are small). Food was overall good, plenty of mozzarella sticks. Here comes bad part number two. A) We see waiter dude sneeze on his bare arm, and then wipe it DOWNTOHISHAND. B) Time to pay, we say we need our check split after he hands it to us. 10 minutes later he returns it, we pay etc. After 15 minutes we’re wondering what the heck is going on? We see him at the register double fisting our money and card with both receipts looking befuddled. He clears our order then reputs it in. Friend 1 goes up and asks what the deal is and he says one minute. Drops change everywhere, twice. We FINALLY get out receipts and money back, and one is entirely crumpled beyond reading. Friend 2 gets around $ 20 back but for some reason she gets $ 1.25 entirely in quarters. There were other ones in the amount she got back so we are befuddled as well. Another couple comes in and seats themselves. After 15 minutes they angrily get up and ask when someone is going to wait on them. Welcome to the club dudes, hope you like waiting. FINALLY, after over 2 hours we got to leave this experience. Never again. The place is filthy and crowded, and the food does not justify a two hour wait with an incompetent, rude, and disgusting waiter.

Stopped in to Feraro’s after the brewery tour for a quick lunch, I had been wanting to try their pizza for some time but it never seemed to work out. Now Feraro’s prides itself on its Jersey Style pizza, which I cannot comment on since I only ordered personal pizza, and it seemed like almost every other personal pizza, however I will say that the pizza had a great taste and was fairly reasonable. I plan on returning, I would like to try ordering a full pizza sometime so I can give a better review. Be advised that Feraro’s is more for carry out, inside seating is limited here during the winter. During the summer there are several tables setup outside.

Feraro’s is GOOD. Like I thought maybe it was good, however, anything would have been good after drinking in Soulard all night, but I recently had a sober meal here. This place is legit. I can vouch for both the pizza and the stromboli. The restaurant itself is pretty small and looks like a divey pizza joint, but they do have a pretty nice little patio out front. It’s kind of pricey, but all of our great pizza places are, so suck it up and think about how much better the pizza is than some crappy chain with each and every bite. It’s totally worth it.

Fat Friday usually consists of me ordering pizza. Who doesn’t love pizza? Since I am not a fan of provel I needed to find a pizza spot that made a real pizza with real cheese. Feraro’s was a great choice! This is by far my my favorite pizza in the area. It is a real Jersey style pizza; I was so happy I was able to fold my pizza and take a bite like I used to do when I lived up north. It was such a walk down memory lane. Folding pizza is the best way to eat a slice! I called in an order for pick up; a giant(yes, giant) Garden State. It had spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, and onions. Everything I could ever want on a pizza. I made it to Soulard in record time and they had my pizza waiting for me. It smelled so fresh and delicious. The service was great and the price was just about what I expected for a Giant pizza topped with deliciousness. Thank you for your perfectly crisp and gooey pizza!

After 8 years in St. Louis, this has become our favorite pizza place(well, maybe tied with Louie’s deep dish!). It’s fantastic… great example of New York style pizza. Everything about it is excellent. We’ve only had two other things here: fries(just ok) and stromboli(excellent). It still gets 5 stars for the amazing pizza.

Nice out door seating, decent pizza slices. Never have I had a meatball and mushroom pizza before. The biggest and HUGEST negative is that everyone working there was more pre-occupied with something on TV, smoking and complaining about the day. Beer was crappy.

It’s really not a sit down place, they even say on their website«limited seating». Most people seem to get carryout or delivery anyway. But we ate there nonetheless because the restaurant we planned on had a long wait and we were hungry and it worked out alright… our server doubled as the cashier but he never seemed to skip a beat with us. Apparently we were so hungry we thought we could conquer a large house salad and an 18″ boss sized Garden State, HA! The salad was great, the house dressing(balsamic and oil) comes on the side. The pizza was good, I have never seen a pizza so big in my entire life. The slices were huge, the pizza was only cut into 8 pieces. I like my pizza to be somewhat interesting, with something special about it… whether it’s a unique topping, crust or sauce. Overall, the ingredients in Feraro’s pizza were pretty mild. The sauce lacked flavor or spice or both. I thought the spinach would be a good topping but it didn’t really add anything. The rest of the toppings were pretty traditional, nothing excited here. They have a nice crust, but it was such a big pizza that it couldn’t stand up on it’s own and required a fork for eating most of it. I was a little nervous our doggy-bag pizza box wouldn’t fit in the fridge. It was a big pizza!

My fiancé is from New Jersey and complains that he’s not had«real» pizza since he moved to Arkansas a decade ago. Feraro’s changed that for us– it is definitely authentic and god, is it delicious… After reading some of the other reviews I was a little nervous about trying it but anyone who says this pizza isn’t mindblowing just obviously has no idea what outstanding food is, and for that… I feel truly bad for them. My motto for vacation is 1) great food, and lots of it. 2) booze, and lots of it. 3) no dieting 4) try something new every time and 5) tip well. This place became our favorite the first time we visited STL, and we’ll never be able to make a trip without stuffing ourselves on 2 of those giant slices and that delightful cannoli. We always get some half-bakes to take home, because as soon as we leave we start craving it again! The only problem with that is, smelling Feraro’s on the way home will make you NUTS if the pizza is half-baked, so I’d suggest getting a pepperoni for the road also. As a true Southern girl, the thought of folding a slice of pizza in half was a new one to me, but shootfire its a good bet. This time I got a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage + fresh tomato. I was pizzadrunk in no time flat! Watching the game with Nancy, the owner, who is such a damn character, was again the highlight of our entire trip. This woman knows her pizza, her football, and she’s a hoot– I want to stick her in my suitcase and bring her home with me! My recommendations: a slice of pepperoni + a slice of whatever else seems interesting to you. The pepperoni is ALWAYS a great bet, though. Paired with a pitcher of Schafly’s pale ale and followed with their cherry-covered cannoli, you’ll leave with a happy belly and a true understanding of what pizza is all about. With that, I’m gonna go stick one of those half-bakes in the oven. YUM.

Definitely an upgrade from the last time I had Feraro’s pizza! Dined here last night and had a really nice time… I had no idea Feraro’s was so close to Benton Park and in such a cute little pocket in Soulard. Is Feraro’s especially fancy? Not at all! But it’s cute, clean and has a nice outdoor patio. Our server was pretty casual but did a great job of taking care of us without being annoying. Mike T wanted wings and I wanted pizza, so this was a good choice. Their wings were surprisingly good, too. Not that I expected them to be bad, but you never know what wings from a pizza joint will taste like. Feraro’s are lean and not too spicy. And they’re not dripping with sauce, which is a plus in my book. The pizza is WAY better when it’s dropped off at your table(vs. delivery), too. Feraro’s also serves Shock Top on tap, which I really like. I know it’s an A-B product but it’s a thirst quenching alternative in the warmer months. I had a ton of work to do last night, so I only had one. But I’d love to come back to drink many more on a summer afternoon. Overall, great dinner and service close to home. I’ll be back for sure!
