Nicest and cleanest Starbucks I have been to in a long time. Friendly staff and good service. I am so used to going to my home town Starbucks in San Clemente that I had been totally disillusioned because it is usually way below par.

The service at this location has always been great. I have found the baristas to be good people who make it enjoyable to come here for coffee and are deserving of 5 stars and I have no complaints about the coffee it’s good too. BUT every time I come here there is a stinky, sour old coffee smell that hits you in the face as soon as you walk in… not exactly my brand of hospitality. Plus the bathroom is always gross because it’s dirty and unkempt. Dear management: please give this location a deep cleaning, a little clean freak makeover would make it shine like the jewel it was meant to be in one of the best locations you will ever find in a Starbucks. Thank you!

The following review is for the design, ambiance and layout of the store itself. I wish I lived in the area so I could visit this location more often! Stopped here en route to a work conference when I needed a little pick me up. Been to dozens and dozens of Starbucks over the years, but I’d have to say this is probably one the swankiest ones I’ve been to. Bright, roomy and inviting, this behemoth coffee shop is located in the heart of downtown San Juan Capistrano. Got lucky and found a meter in the front of the store. The staff was kind and the store was sparkly clean. Would love to just sit and roost and ponder the universe for an hour or so while reading Kafka and sipping my grande red eye. :) If you’re passing through the area, I’d make it a point to stop here to take a break from the road or whatever you happen to be doing. As far as the coffee, pretty standard taste.

It’s a nice spot but the crowd is mixed from adults-kids and the weekends are crowded and I seen some people there dressed inappropriate and want people to notice them when really they looked desperate for attention requested.

Located in a really swanky part of town, I certainly did not fit in there– especially on a Saturday night dressed in workout clothes! HA! This starbucks is sandwiched between a few upscale restaurants and boutiques. Parking is the the back and it’s tight. My ‘caramel brulee latte’ was ready fairly quickly. Tons of seating, people were readying, working, chatting… seemed to have a nice vibe. If I was in the area, I would stop in again.

This is a better than average Starbucks — so far, they haven’t burnt the espresso in any of my visits. Score! Very nice staff as well. Parking is dicey(but if you can’t find any, drive up the hill and park above — the stairway comes down right by the Starbucks).

Hit or miss? Miss on this one. Just an another Starbucks. I ordered a cup of tall pumpkin spice latte, the cup was dripping down with the orange goo. I didn’t notice that and my skirt got dirty. :/

I go to the SJC location 3 days week. I have had a satisfactory experiences. I would love to score higher however, service is basically just that. Perhaps it might be the air temp, bc it is so cold so if I don’t have a sweater or wrap in my car I will not go in! I called tonight(it’s labor day) to check and see what time they close I thought it would be earlier since it was the holiday, A girl answered the phone told me they closed at 9:00 and to make sure I was not going to be late.(Sometimes, it’s best to Think before you speak,)

They had some nice comfy chairs that we worked in for a while. Plus it has a great view of the mission and really cool old windows and a nice vibe. Only reason for not five because it’s a Starbucks and I’m that sense not that unique. Also had adequate parking on the streets when I came

This used to be my favorite Starbucks… Staff changes have caused it to go waaay downhill. They are slow, unfriendly and incompetent… Bring back the A TEAM!

The staff has always been helpful and pleasant. Can be a bit crowded before and after the nearby schools start and finish though. Many regulars(of course) but I have never felt they were possessive of a certain spot.

THEBESTSTARBUCKS ever. Not only because it is close to my work but because everyone who works there is amazing! Not only do they remember my order but also most of my coworkers coffee drinks too. There have even been times where I only have about 5 mins to grab my coffee and go because I’m a hairdresser and have to get back to my salon and sometimes yes I even forget I order food! They are nice enough to remind me the next time I come in to place an order and comp me for what I didn’t take with me the last time which is always my fault for forgetting. I always thought that was such a great gesture from them! Even at times when they are super busy due to events happening all the time in San Juan they are are always efficient. Starbucks pricing can keep going up but I will always love my coffee with people who provide great customer service

Thankfully I don’t live in the area so there’s no need to return to this starbucks. The service was not good at all. The barista taking orders wrote my drink wrong so my latte was unsweetened and the barista handing out drinks never called mine out. I was standing right by the hand off area so I noticed her place my drink there, but she never said anything, just finished the drink and turned around.

I am truly disappointed. I stand in line to be served by Taylor. She was not pleasant at all. She clearly was not happy about having to be at work. Which again, I understand because we all have off days. I complete my coffee order and I ask for a ice water. She informs me that they don’t give out ice waters. So I accept that answer. It’s not the first time I have been told that and I understand that the cups cost money and they might not want to give them out except for coffee. So I gather my things and go wait for my coffee. The very next guy in line behind me orders a coffee… and get this, he gets a freaking water. Are you kidding me!!! Why am I not good enough for water but he is? Well that rubbed me the wrong way needless to say. I am disappointed in this Starbucks.

Service was terribly slow… and when my order was finally up(nonfat latte) it tasted awful!(Burnt) I wanted to get back in line and have my order replaced, but they were SOSLOW! I didn’t have another 15 min to waste. I guess I just wasted a latte because it went right in the trash. One thing I love about Starbucks is the consistency. But this location truly sucked.

I’ve never been a big fan of Starbucks just because Starbucks is responsible for many small businesses to go out of business and because Starbucks is part of the«evil» food industry in the USA, but I must say that this particular Starbucks location is very nice in terms of location and building. I also enjoy the view onto San Juans Capistrano beautiful area here from inside this Starbucks. Yes, Starbucks is pricier than it should be, specially considering how poisonous and filled with sugar many of its items are, but every now and then in moderation is fine I guess. As far as the service goes at this location: The employees are very friendly, accurate, and fast. I’ve been here to this location a long time ago too, and it was good back then too. I would never rate Starbucks 5 Stars since it’s really unhealthy, but… 4 Stars for a great San Juan Capistrano Starbucks in a pretty and convenient location!

Hey. Accessible luxury in a cup! Orange mocha Frappuccino! But really. The barristas here are trained well and there pretty quick! In, coffee, out!

I like this place, *even though* it is a Starbucks. Don’t get me wrong, I like Starbucks and here in Hawaii(I’m an OC transplant in Honolulu) I go to Starbucks several times a week. But the one across the street from Mission San Juan Capistrano used to be a Diedrich’s Coffee before Starbucks bought them out. It was a smallish home-grown coffee chain of 40 shops, headquartered in Orange County by an immigrant family from Germany that grew their own beans in Costa Rica and then Guatemala. The family patriarch would drive tons of the beans himself in a VW van from Central America to Southern California. Much of that history was lost when Diedrich Coffee’s forty shops were all bought up by Starbucks in 2006, as the red-and-yellow logo switched to green and white. Diedrich built local coffee houses, not chain stores, and that’s why the SJC Starbucks looks so unique. It’s a credit to Starbucks that they maintained the look of the interior and exterior on this one. That said, it’s a Starbucks, with all there is to love and all there is to get annoyed by a corporate behemoth. But this one is smallish and doesn’t feel rushed. It’s a comfortable place to sit and read or work or chat.

Ryan. Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino. This Starbucks location was empty on a Saturday afternoon. While trying to decide between a frap and the peppermint mocha, Ryan offered to give me the best of both worlds! A whirl of the blender later and I am sipping on the best peppermint mocha frap I have ever tasted! This location also happens to be walking distance from the Mission. An added bonus as I just came from a wedding and have a long day ahead of me. There is plenty of seating inside with barstools, tables, and a combination of wooden and comfy chairs. They also have the usual menu of food and drinks. What I really love is the amount of sunlight they get here. It is also calming to eatch traffic cruise by while staring out the windows. This location is also buzzing with activity from little children. Its certainly a great store to pop in for a drink between adventures! :-)
