Found a worm, what else is there to say. Never going back, had to call the City Inspector as I feel it was my duty as a consumer. So sad, cause my son really loves sushi, but I just won’t take the risk anymore anywhere else. Thanks a lot, you’ve ruined me for the rest of the sushi out there!!!

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I went here with my cousins in hopes of eating the all you can eat $ 16.95 lunch buffet. We got here around 1pm(buffet closes at 2pm). The sushi was limited to 3 kinds of rolls. The boats were NEVER full and the service is SLOW. Around 140pm we asked if we could get more sushi on the boats. They said that they were closing and that they were not going to make anymore food. Bad service, terrible food, and false advertisement. All in all, I don’t suggest you come here.

The best deal they have is their lunch and dinner special. Chicken teriyaki, six pieces California Roll, rice, soup and salad for $ 6.95 or $ 7.95. Their all you can eat sushi; $ 16.95 for lunch or $ 19.95 for dinner is the worst. They don’t offer much variety, mostly rolls stuffed with rice and fake crab… you won’t see the good stuff on those little boats floating in the water. The worst part is you can’t ask the chef to make you anything. What ever is in the ‘water’ is what you get. So the deal really sucks in my humble opinion. The sushi qualify is below average. If you like the specialty rolls which are best suited for the American pallet, then you may like what they have to offer since the raw fish is mixed in with other flavors that will taste less fishy if it’s not fresh. For the true sushi/sashimi connoisseur, this isn’t the place for you.

What’s the point in having«All you can eat» when there’s nothing to eat. Even then, sushi was subpar at best.

Looks like this place has changed ownership. Yesterday I noticed the place was closed and the sign outside was changed to Super TGI Sushi. Could this place now be connected with TGI Sushi on Hamilton Ave? I hope the place improves with the changes. It could hardly get worse.

I’ve stopped going to this place as often since they got rid of their bento specials. The california rolls started to take a dive in quality and the avocado in there looked old. Overall the place seems to running downwards and they’re never open. Anyways, its just your average sushi place with somewhat expensive pricing.

Not good at all. Men’s urinal overflow when flushing and place was not very clean overall. Poor selection… fairly pricey. Server was very nice and polite but overall, not very enjoyable. Normally, this would be one star, but since the server really tried and was nice, I will give it two stars. I should note that this restaurant has been closed for remodeling the last few weeks. If they reopen, perhaps with a new owner, I may try it again.

Probably should’ve paid more attention to the reviews… The place was near empty on a night where all the other local sushi joints were packed. The sushi bar had 1 person at it. Not surprising seeing that the boats were about 20% filled(with stale offerings I’m sure). FYI — not a single dish was added to any boats during my time here. The food? Well it was just okay. The cuts of fish seemed fresh enough, but the actual cutting of the fish was horrible. I think I could’ve sliced them better… seriously. Also the complaints about this place being pricey for lesser portions is true. Service was okay. Kinda slow. One thing this place has going for it is a lot of parking spots. Though it probably just felt like that because the place was empty. Never again.

The sushi chefs did not greet me when I came in. No fun! The rice on the nigiri was so small it was like a practical joke. Like a half a tablespoon. It was so small you had to pick up the fish. Rice was a bit undercooked. They did not put wasabi on the nigiri, which is strange because they serve spicy tuna with a jalepeno slice and red pepper sauce, so you think they would be more into hot. They did not offer green tea or miso soup or edamame. It’s a carousel sushi place, but there was almost nothing going around. The fish cuts were large and the taste was good, but again the rice was small, so the balance was way off. The waitress let my water cup go empty. Had to walk around to try and pay. Wasn’t cheap, either. It wasn’t cheap for the offering.

In order to get the biggest bang for your buck, I would recommend ordering the lunch/dinner special; it is a bento box which includes: teriyaki, rice, salad, pickled vegetables, california rolls and slices of oranges(yumyum so much food)! Otherwise, if you compare the quantity of food and the price to all the other items on the menu, then your meal might become too expensive. However, Totoro Sushi Boat is still a lot more affordable than the Sushi Boat in Westgate and you get the same quality of food.

Rolled in here thinking it was part of the Sushi Boat chain, but says«Totoro» in small letters. I’m a HUGE fan of the Sushi Boat in westgate mall, so I had high hopes. I duno what kind of salad dressing they’re using on their salad, but they really need to get rid of it and nab up whatever Sushi Boat is using, cause the salad dressing here was nass-ty. Miso soup is cheap, but it tasted really watered down. Chicken? Dry. California rolls? mushy crab meat. Lion king roll? Actually that was pretty decent. Service was painfully slow even though there were only like 4 parties dining at the time. I saw my dish of Lion king rolls sitting at the bar for the longest time with nobody bringing it over and I was pretty much salivating since I was so hungry and it was sitting like 6 feet away. I got up, asked if it was mine, and took it myself. Twas very awkward for the sushi chef. He was looking around for a waiter and was like«uhh okay.» And we had to ask for the little soy sauce dishes! What sushi place makes you request those? Needless to say… Sushi Boat, I’ll never mistaken you for an unintentional fake ever again!

Have been coming here for 6+ years now, and I can definitely say this place has slipped way below subpar. When this place first opened you could expect the freshest of the fish at prices that few other places could beat. I have started going to alternative local places about 2 years ago when this place no longer served the kind of quality they used to. Yet even so I occasionally go to this place to give it another… and another shot and I can honestly say I am not sure if I will be going back. The fish is not fresh, the boats circle around and around for quite a long time. The prices are now quite high as well. I am saddened to be writing such a review for a place I used to visit weekly but I honestly believe that outside of the service and the people this place does not have much going for them.

My review is based on a weekday dinner experience. So after a long day’s work, I decided I wanted to get some sushi. Passed by the totoro sushi boat sign and decided to pull in. We wanted to sit in and have the choice of various types of sushi, and then… 1) Handful of people = AWESOME customer service 2) Roles were basic, nothing to go WOWZERS over 3) Sushi/Sashimi on the boats were OLD! We sat there for a good 20 minutes to see if they would remove the old ones and replace it with new ones. NOPE! 4)Place your order and request for a new one. 5) We ordered a bunch of fried specialty rolls, DON’T get it unless you want marinated oily rice. Overall, it was«okay» but not to die for. If you are on a sushi crave and you must eat it, come here. Other then that, find someplace else.

Sat at the boat. The dishes at the boat were cold and not freah, as expected. They were still good though. Ordered a spicy tuna roll, little bomb, and hot night. All pretty good. Spiciest for me was spicy tuna. I thought the little bomb/hot night wouldve been spicier. Disappointed but enjoyed eating them. I also love the presentation of the little bomb. Next time I come back, i’ll sit at the table. The chefs at the boat were pretty nice too.

Just wanted to give this place a brief update. Ever since I wrote my review, I have yet to step foot in this place. Why come here when you can get better sushi and service at Barracuda???

My family always comes here when my parents don’t feel like cooking for lunch on weekends. Totoro has a really good lunch bento box deal. The portions are big but it’s pretty much just a standard bento — teriyaki, mediocre CA rolls, rice, salad, and bowl of miso soup. It’s still more than worth the money though. I don’t think I’d come here for anything besides the bento box — the sushi isn’t that amazing for the price.

Great sushi! The stuff on the sushi boats isn’t the best, though — it seems whenever I go there to eat at the sushi bar and get sushi off the boats, I find it’s been sitting there for a while. I can tell by the oxidation of the avocados. Otherwise, they have an awesome selection of great«non-traditional» rolls to choose from — I highly recommend the Double Unagi and Crispy Dragon rolls.

Service was eh, I felt rushed on ordering and returning the menu. Variety of the sushi boat on a Saturday afternoon was tiny. They had only 4 dishes out there(which no one touched), and the sushi chief wasn’t pumping any out. The 5.99 lunch special advertised consisted of teriaki chicken, rice, salad, 6pc Ca roll and miso soup. The rest of the lunch boxes are about $ 7+. Given the price of the 5.99 special, it’s a pretty good deal. Other than that, since there wasn’t any decent sushi on the sushi boats, I’m just going to give it a 2 star.

Another Korean owned sushi joint in the South Bay. Lots of ajushis. We didn’t eat off the sushi boat. Instead we got 4 rolls: one with hamachi, spicy tuna and unagi with jalapenos, one with spicy tuna and tempura shrimp, a caterpillar and a philly. I’m not a huge raw salmon fan so I didn’t try the philly but I heard it was good. The other 3 were large, rolled well and tasted fresh. Prices were reasonable and the service was good. I’d have no objection to coming here again.

*** update *** It’s called Sushi Boat now. Went back again and will have to deduct 1 star. Service was slow, the one waiter seated us and started us out and another gal just came over and stole us from the other waiter. He was pissed. Then I asked for the 49er roll without tobiko and as they are bringing the other stuff I asked her to make sure they dont put tobiko on the 49er roll. She says ‘Oh it doesnt come with it’. Oh christ, yes it does, I just had one here a week or so ago! You better go tell them! How can you work here and not even know what comes on the rolls, whatever. Anyway the roll wasnt as good this time, the cheese was kind of burnt so it made it hard. I wonder if I went to the same place as everyone else? Sushi Totoro has been remodeled since I last went. Now they have the boats that float round and you just grab whtat you want off of them. I like this because you can get small dishes with just a couple of rolls if you wnat to try something and not have to order an huge roll. However, there is the fresh issue with the sushi that floats around on the boats, like how long has it been sitting there? However they have TONS of specialty rolls, particularly the 49er roll was a favorite with us. I believe it was spicy tuna, crab meat, cream cheese, topped with mozzarela cheese and special sauce. It was seriously yummy. Price wasnt bad either. Give it another chance!
