Has this place closed down? Tried visiting a few times over the past couple of weeks but it was shut.

I ordered a paneer bhurji. What I got was shredded paneer in butter chicken sauce? What in the world is that? Did they really think that they could pass it off as paneer bhurji? Extremely bad!

It should be called a raw food restaurant. Got a pick up done today and realized the food was almost raw after I opened up the to-go food. Wish they can make the food with better quality and if not then offer some customer service.

Hungry, looking for Indian food? Don’t go to Tandoori Bites — very disappointing food quality. I feel Food Inspector need to visit this place. Food looks cold and old. once it comes, taste horrible — after eating once, your idea about Indian food change for ever and feel sorry to stop by.

Ordered a Chicken biryani and Chicken 65. The biryani was decent, but i am very upset with the chicken 65, it was taken out of the freezer and over microwaved as i was waiting. I have ordered the food 20 minutes ago and all i got was a microwaved and over cooked 65 that i could not bite into, since it was so rubbery. I pretty much had to throw the whole thing out, not pleased!

Not even 1.5 stars. One of the worst food we ever had. Try only if everything else is closed.

Why 4 stars: Excellent food. Specially very very good real Biryani. I have tried chicken biryani and its really good. I will definitely recommend to try it once. Why 1 star less: The food is salty. Even delicious chicken biryani is salty. Now on before I order I am going to always ask for less salt in food.

This place is close to work which is probably the best thing going for it. the lunch buffet isn’t exactly cheap and depending on what day you go the choices vary. I have tried most of the stuff they have here(veggi stuff only since I don’t eat meat) and on most occasions it was just passable. the flavor was not that obvious or evident… it’s edible without being mouthwatering. I’d recommend it only if you’re in a hurry and craving Indian food, but otherwise I’d recommend a place further down on n 1st street called sangam that is overall a much better choice for pretty much the same price.

Decent buffet but definitely expensive for 10.99 $. This place is more of a fast Indian food like Rajjjot.

Despite the low reviews, I went against my better judgement and came here for lunch. First off, PARKINGIS A PAIN! I got lucky and pulled into a spot as someone was leaving, but the lunch rush is crazy and even at 1:15pm, I had to do a lap around the parking lot. Walking inside, I first noticed the simple décor — the buffet table is actually right next to the register, so it makes serving yourself food on the farther side slightly awkward since you can’t go behind the register. I inquired about the lunch box advertised on the sign outside($ 5) and they said they didn’t have it but recommended the combo option to go — two entrees(meat and veggie), naan, rice, salad and yogurt for $ 7.49. They didn’t have my fav(butter chicken /makhani) so I chose the tikka masala and aloo gobi which looked pretty good. The cashier proceeds to scoop the tikka masala, and she is literally just scooping sauce from the top into the take-out bowl — WTF. When I hand over my debit card, she also proceeds to ask if I have cash, since they don’t take credit cards even though there is a card reader right in front and on the website it has logos for all the major CCs. *SMH* I don’t have cash on me, so she asks someone to help her run the debit card. Back at the office, I opened the bowl and just as I had suspected, there were 4 tiny pieces of chicken and just sauce. The aloo gobi was decent, the yogurt was too watery and the salad had old carrots with brown lettuce leaves. *Sigh*. Avoid the take out at all costs, you are better off going to the cafeteria at your office. At least with buffet option you can self-serve and avoid picking the brown lettuce. With a plethora of Indian restaurant options around Milipitas, I’m sad to say that I won’t be coming back.

I really like the spices I tasted that normally only come with more expensive places. The inclusion of goat curry got my turbo’s going! stewed in a dark curry sauce, the goat curry was yummy. Their rice dish was covered with saffron and many different kinds of scents rose and tickled my tongue. Indian restaurants always have a green salad with tomatoes; few are of their fresh quality; kudos for not serving stale lettuce. $ 11.95 for AYCE for this kind of quality is not outrageous and worth it once in a while. Parking: very tight at 12 noon to 1 pm. Customer service: indifferent. Décor: low rent. But the freshness, spices and scents of their food you will enjoy!

If food poisoning is your thing, come on down. Probably the worst Indian food that I have had. First of all, I came here in the winter and it was freezing, but sat us next to the open door with the cold wind blasting on us! Hello! Nope, they didn’t even get the hint when we put our jackets on, hmmm maybe you should close that door. We were the only ones there, I wonder why. The waitress was nice and smiled, but the jolliness ended there. The naan was too thin(should be slightly leavened), dry and supposedly«onion naan», but hey maybe they used invisible onions with no flavor. Naan should come out freshly baked and warm, especially if you’re going to have«tandoori» in your restaurant’s name. The vegetarian biryani looked and tasted like it was scooped out of the Ganges river. It was clearly old and microwaved probably more than once. It was mostly stale, dry rice, burned grey peas, some bits of carrot and a beautiful garnish of burnt onions. It seriously was a disaster on a plate. I have a bad habit of overlooking questionable food if I am very hungry(I was) and also not complaining at restaurants. Well this experience really made me get overcome that. So with much regret, we ate some of it. Negaive 1 kafrickin trillion out of 5 for this dish. They should rename this dish Chernobyl Biryani or Fukushima rice plate or Basmati rice aged in raw Bangladeshi sewage and then nuked to death as even that will save you from toxicity. Really though, change it so people know what to expect. The lamb curry also did not taste very fresh, but at least if it was spoiled like the«biryani»(what a stretch) then at least it was spiced enough to disguise it. The sauce tasted way too much like tomato paste though. 3⁄5 for this dish. Within 10 minutes after leaving the place, my date and I began to feel pretty sick. The food there seriously made me feel dirtier and yuckier than that one time when I ate Burger King and watched dinosaur porn alone last Christmas(not true). Seriously though, I have eaten some sketchy stuff and I rarely ever get any digestive complaints, but this food made me feel terrible for the rest of the night, I was ready to go on a fasting cleanse after this. PLEASESTAYAWAY! You can probably get safer street food in India.

new management! I ate here once after the change and I am surprised and pleased at the improvements. I heard there is a new cook as well, which is probably why the curry does NOT taste bland anymore! yes! i really enjoyed my meal. i still love the naan with the sauce. im sorry i forgot what it was called! but it is so good. the lunch buffet is actually a good deal, too. since I am walking distance away, I can get there anytime if I feel like eating it! glad the management and cook changed, I think things will get better for tandoori bites. they are very courteous, kind, and welcoming!

This place is awesome. The food, especially the chicken is delicious. Its so good that one day I bought food and I couldn’t wait to eat it so while I went to pick up my sisters, I took the food out from the bag, laid the food out on the trunk and had a delicious food. I don’t know whats wrong with the idiots that commented before me saying they don’t know how to cook. Their business is doing pretty well so I believe they are doing something right. Not only that, the staff is kind and fun to talk to too. I’ll be going there soon once I get my check.

Wow… They are bad and they are not sporting enough to accept feedback and improve themselves. I got a message from the owner Navi K : «Thank you for your review on Unilocal. I am sorry for your experience here at Tandoori Bites, I am sorry you got stale paneer. We cook our paneer in the tandoor. p.s If you need a job we are looking for cooks. So come and give a interview and we’ll hire you. Thank you for your rude comment.» Dear Navi… Not everyone who cooks good has to be a professional cook however every professional cook MUST cook good. LOL. Its obvious that you need cooks.

I was excited to go here for lunch. I used to live near this area and just bought Chicken Biryani to-go all the time. My last visit was around 2009. When I read that they do lunch buffets daily, I thought of re-visiting the place again to try it. I was totally disappointed when I arrived. Parking was terrible so I had to park at the side street(Nicholson Lane). Not too many diners inside so I said to myself that it was cool coz I’d easily get a table. I got frustrated upon learning that they recently eliminated lunch buffet. Instead, they did combo menus like one curry item + naan or rice; 2 curry items + naan or rice; 3 curry items + naan or rice. It turned out to be more expensive than a lunch buffet because you only get a tiny portion of the food you want to eat. They even suggest on your receipt how much tip to give! What?! I got their two tiny pieces of Chicken Tandoori(I think they used cornish hens seriously… so small!), Chicken Mikhani(that looked like Chicken Tikka Masala) and their aloo veggie stuff which I forgot the name of… and bismati rice. I should’ve gotten the naan but they only served a couple of thin pieces of triangular cut bread per order. Anyway, the bad part was what’s written on the table under the glass. I took a photo of it and uploaded it here. It says, «This table is for 3 or 4 people only…» Seriously? It’s a very tiny place. I normally eat lunch alone because that’s how I get my peace from work. That sign kind of made me feel unwelcome for being alone. Geez, I can pay for my food and not feel like I shouldn’t sit inside their diner. So with all those negative experience dining inside, I ended up with one star. Now, if I was rating the take out experience I’ve had before, I’d give it 3.5. But without their lunch buffet, I think my money goes better to New Indian Chaat Café on Flickinger Avenue. I’m sorry, but I will never come back.

Given the number of good Indian lunch buffets in the area, a three star«A-OK» rating is far from an endorsement. The woman running the place was very friendly and did her best to make sure our experience was as good as it could be. However, the number of buffet options is more limited than most of their competition, and their entrees aren’t as good as their competition(I even checked with my Indian friends to find out which was the correct way to do certain dishes so that I wasn’t commenting from a position of ignorance.)
