The only good thing about this place is their customer service. Nice folks and food came out quick. I can not say this about their food. Their burgers and fries are just horrible! I ordered the BBQ and bacon cheddar burger and it was dull and dry. I did not enjoy it and I will have to say the same to fries. How can you go wrong with fries! It was thin and barley had any flavors. This was my first visit to Smashburger and it will be my last.

Nothing special! Priced high and food is mediocre. Ordered a salad and when I got it it was half a bowl of salad instead of what their picture shows. My son says the burger was just ok. For $ 7.99 this burger should’ve been better. And they forgot his fries so he had to go back in line to let them know. Should’ve stuck with my first instinct and gone next door to Chipotle. Ended up there after my half bowl of lettuce to buy chips and guacamole.

Usually don’t have any problems here, but today it was just horrible. The customer service is pathetic one of the worst I’ve seen in my life. The manager had poor management skills and did know how to approach costumes what’s so ever. Had my order wrong twice and in either of them the manager said anything an employee had to come and solve the situation for HER. The manager is a joke here. I give this place a 0!

If I could give this place a 0 I would. terrible customer service. Even worse burger. This place should really consider a name switch to TrashBurger. Stood in line for 10 minutes. Waited 15 minutes. Finally got it and went home. Went to put it in the toaster oven to warm it up a bit and when I opened up my burger I was very disappointed. they decided to leave out my aged Swiss, my spinach, grilled onions, extra pickles… They decided to put in tomatoes but I guess they felt like being hssaoles and putting two butt ends of a tomato in my burger. TWONASTYENDOF A TOMATO. This is not how you run a business. Update: went back in today and I spoke to Richie(the manager) he asked me to email him the picture so he could show his workers what NOTTODO. he was really nice and curious from the start. Very pleasant guy. He took me and my friends that was with me to the kitchen and showed us how it was set up and what the ingredients are supposed to look like. He even remade my order and doubled it… gave me two chicken sandwiches properly made. I told him it wasn’t about that free food but the aspect of doing proper business and he still insisted I take the food. These sandwhiches were much better. Uped the rating from 1 to 2 simply because Richie was a good guy. THANKSRICHIE!

Great Burgers! I highly recommend the Avocado Club! So yummy! I also got Smash fries. Unique flavor, yummy garlic, Rosemary flavor. Also had a Oreo shake with Peanut Butter in it! The staff was friendly and accommodating, considering everything is made fresh to order, and it was so busy on a Holiday weekend.

I go to smashburger even when Im not at the mall shopping. I always order Smashfries and the classic burger. The customer service here is absolutely excellent! Prior to placing an online order, I called in to ask if the fries were fresh, mentioning that last time i came in they tasted stale. The manager said he would give me free sides for that inconvenience! When I went into the store every employee treated me with the upmost respect and were extremely kind! I live supporting businesses like that!!! Each reciept also has a survey that takes 5 minutes and provides you with a code upon completion for a free order of smashfries!!! YUM

I get it that it’s the holidays and maybe Amy here at smashburger was having a bad day or taking her frustration of the holidays out on my the customer but attitude towards the customer is very low I will not be giving my business to this place ever again

If you want bad costumer service, this young lady will give you one. I asked her questions about making the burger and she had a very negative response, and opted to roll her eyes. After telling her what I wanted, I opened the sandwich and found something completely different. I don’t get upset easily but this put me in a mood. I ended up throwing it away, it was too greasy. Please do not work with people if you can’t help or put a damn smile on!

For mushroom lovers like myself, the Truffle Mushroom Swiss immediately called out to me. The 15 minute wait and $ 7 price will surely be justified by your mushroominess! All I got was a small, boring burger that didn’t scream«Mushroom!» Patience… Smashed. Wallet… Smashed. … bye bye SmashBurger.

The burger tasted Ok but not worth waiting for 20 minutes. The line is insane and only one not very smart cashier(name angle) she eff’d up my order and took forever to prepare. The smash fries were not made fresh and tasted horrible and my order came missing the bbq sauce.

There’s one reason above all that I keep coming back to Smashburger. It’s an awesome burger! They have some fancy varieties that I’ve tried, like the Chicago and the Mushroom Swiss, but I keep going for the Classic Smash. It’s such a well-made burger with the perfect bite. No single flavor overwhelms and the burger itself is amazingly flavorful. Yum.

Ordered food for our family tonight and noticed it was a very long wait for our order to come up. I went to the counter to inquire and apparently our food had been given to another guest. They had looked at the food(and commented that my son’s grilled chicken meal looked«disgusting») and brought it back to the counter to get their food. This bag was then handed to us with no apology nor any offer to make fresh food. This was utterly disgusting but we had waited a long time and my son needed to eat. I should’ve refused the food, now that I’ve had time to think about it, but we were all very hungry and settled for the rejected and not fresh items(fries were cold by this point). I have to wonder if this even violated some food safety code to re-serve food that someone else had left the counter with and then returned. Update: their GM called me the next morning to get more info and apologized profusely– the food should have been remade and we should not have been given food that had left the counter.

I had heard good things about this place so I was looking forward to trying it, but I was so disappointed. I had a burger, garlic fries, and a milkshake and it came out to around $ 15. For the price, I expected a lot more. The burger had no flavor whatsoever. I don’t think there was any garlic in my garlic fries. They were also too thin and should’ve probably been cooked a little longer. The milkshake was alright but I’ve had better. I thought it was too sweet. It also felt like I waited ages for my food. Service is super slow. It was a mistake even trying this place. I should’ve just gone to In N Out or Chipotle, which is right next to Smashburger in the food court.

Love Smashburger, and this is the closest location to home. Located in the food court of Oakridge mall, it would be great if they had menus that weren’t plastered way up high. Got my usual, the Bay with smash fries, and it was ready pretty quickly. The truffle mayo was super overwhelming this time, and I would say this was the least tastiest burger I’ve had from the 3 locations I’ve been to. Smash fries were good, but needed more rosemary like the other locations. Tried a fried pickle and it was salty as hell. Decent, but would rather go to another location since it tastes fresher and better.

So disappointed with this place! I was really looking forward to trying it out too :( This is a new burger joint located in oakridge mall. I’m only giving a 2 star because the employee at the register was super nice, helpful and was also very descriptive with the menu items. He seemed to really know his stuff. I got an club burger with a side of fries. I was not impressed with my burger at all! The actual patty was bland and was not cooked right. Some spots were mushy, others were way to hard. The burger patty itself literally had zero flavor. The quality of meat seemed ok, they just need to add some natural flavorful ingredients to it and hire a new cook! My second complaint is about the bacon that was on the burger, it literally tasted like card board! There’s no their way to describe it. Texture of card board and had absolutely no flavor either! — at that point I was starting to see a pattern with this joint. The fries were ok, nothing great. They were not fresh, kinda cold. The produce on my burger was pathetic!!! Like seriously horrible quality! And this isn’t a cheap burger place so I would expect more from them! And more for your money’s worth. I would not recommend this restaurant/fast food place to anyone.

After the«Grand Opening» debacle(see my previous review) at this new Smashburger(SB) location, I was not in a hurry to come back. However, I did promise to return one day and give them a review on their actual food and service. I just happened to be in the ‘hood for lunch with a burger-loving co-worker, and we thought we’d give it a shot – plus I had a coupon for a free side! Avocado Club Big Smash*- This is my standard SB burger that’s simple, yet perfect: Beef, Bacon and Avocado – the holy triumvirate, IMO. The first thing I noticed(see my pic) was the awful presentation of the burger itself. All the orders here come wrapped up to-go, and when I opened it up the burger looked like an elephant had just sat on it, and there was a giant slab of Avocado protruding out. I had to pop the top and readjust everything to make it look semi-palatable. Other than that, the burger was OK except the beef was overcooked and not the usual«greasy» deliciousness I’ve come to expect from SB. 2.5* Sweet Potato Fries– Sides have always been SB’s weak spot, as far as I’m concerned, but these tasted slightly better than what I’m used to; mostly because they were piping hot, which is a must for fries. I also had a minor qualm about them giving out ketchup packets and not having a dispenser which is a pain, especially if you’re dining-in. My co-worker’s Smash Fries(Garlic, Olive Oil & Rosemary) were served to him cold and old. I had a pretty decent view of the kitchen and I could see a row of Fries sitting under the warming lamps. I think the reason mine came out hot was because they’re less popular, and they’re probably made to order – or I just got lucky. 3* Sweet Potato/1* Smash Fries PB&J Shake– Still my all-time favorite fast food shake; it’s Häagen-Dazs strawberry ice cream with chunks of Nutter Butter cookies mixed in. Yes, it’s even better than it sounds. 5* Service & Ambiance– I was served by Jared(shift leader) who was super-friendly, nice and let me get the Large fries for free with the coupon. He also hooked me up with an additional«Free Side» coupon before I left. This SB location is in the Oakridge Mall Food Court; normally I avoid eating in food courts like a fat kid shuns broccoli. I honestly thought they were going to have their own inside seating area; I guess their outdoor seating arrangement had me fooled into thinking otherwise. Oakridge is a pretty busy mall, which makes this a lousy location if you’re just coming craving a burger, as the hassle of finding parking and dealing with the mall crowds is a giant pain. Service 4* Ambiance 1* Value– SB is by no means cheap. Expect to spend an average of $ 12 – 15 per person(depending if you want a soda or shake), so when you’re asking people to shell out that kind of cash for fast food you better be putting out an exceptional product – and this SB was a fail. 2* I don’t know what it is about this location, but the cold fries and awful burger presentation shows a lack of caring and maybe bad training. I’ve read the numerous other reports of screwed up orders, and had a different co-worker tell me about them botching his as well. More than anything, I think it’s this location that’ll keep me from coming back; I’m not a mall guy and the lackluster food at this location is not enough to draw me in. I still love SB, but just not this SB. I’ll stick to the Coleman Ave location for SB, and to In-N-Out and Juicy Burger for my South SJ burger fix. I might be back for a shake, but that’s only if I’m at the mall – which is next-to-never. *For your edification, the«Regular Smash» is ¼ lb. and the«Big Smash» is ½ lb. They don’t list this info on the menu, but I found it on the website. You’re welcome.

Noelle’s Unilocal Notebook 2015 While waiting for my iPhone 6+ to be repaired at the Apple store, we wandered over to the food court and decided to give Smashburger a try((what a HUGE mistake)). — - — - — - — - — - — - our order — - — - — - — - — - — - Big Bacon Cheeseburger Large Smashfries Haystack Onion Rings Oreo Milkshake Regular Soda Organic Horizon Milk My hubs and son waited at a table while I placed the order. There was a line but it moved at a decent pace considering it was during the holiday season and the mall was packed. Customer service was friendly and fast. It took a while to get our food nearly 30 minutes, which didn’t bother me because I knew they were busy. When the food finally arrived(my hubs picked up the food), the burger looked like a grease bomb and it was room temperature, the fries and haystack onion rings were room temperature as well. One bite of the burger and I was disgusted and disappointed– it was oozing with grease. The haystack onion rings were so salty, I asked my hubs to kindly take our room temperature food and overly salted onion rings back for a replacement of hot food and less salty onion rings. The manager took the food back and assured my hubs that we would be delivered a hot and fresh meal. It took 30 minutes to recreate the entire meal. My hubs was refunded for the burger and they replaced our haystack onion rings with fried veggies because they said the over salted batch came from their food distributor and couldn’t adjust the mistake because they are pre-seasoned. I generally have a distaste for crowded malls and mediocre food. Granted this was a late mid afternoon snack 3:15 p.m. Customer service was good, hence my $ 5 tip before the snafu occurred. Nearly $ 30 spent for one burger, milkshake, fries, onion rings — and for it to be so horribly tasting leaves me with the feeling that I will not return. There are so many better places to grab a burger and Smashburger should be ashamed of the burgers they are serving. Just as a side note my hubs who is from Illinois said the burgers look similar to that of a Steak and Shake. Noelle’s Notes Skip It! Overpriced and underwhelming((you’ve been warned)).

Really disappointed in this location and it is not off to a good start. We got invited to their grand opening VIP event. We printed out the tickets, left work early to make it down here, and only to see the doors locked!?! WTF!!! Here’s some quick business tips for you Smashburger!!! If you are going to cancel an event? — At least send out an e-mail the night before or even the day of the event!?! If there is a last minute technical difficulties? — Post a sign on the restaurant door so we are not wondering around like the pets from Homeward Bound! Wasting everybody’s time and still no response from this Smash Burger location at the end of the day?!? — The manager needs to step in and reward everybody a free meal or something for today’s hiccup and wasting everybody’s time/gas/lunch break. Smashburger at Oakridge mall is off to a real bad start, I can just imagine how the official opening day is going to be… quite possible a $hit Show!?!

The Southbay Slumdog invited us to attend the«VIP» event today at Smashburger along with dozens of people here today. Since the reserved time was at 11:00am, I had to cut out of work at 10:30 because I work in north SJ and had to give myself ample time to find a parking spot in the cramped parking lot at Oakridge. What we walked up to was appalling. No one was around other than contractors still working on the electrical of this barn. Not one single red shirted representative to greet customers to apologize and explain how they miscalculated the opening date. In fact, they went so far as sending an email reminder the night before to make sure you didn’t forget about this invitation-only event. One of the contractors estimated that they were about a week out before they would be ready. Who was the mastermind behind this scheduling fiasco? As more and more confused people showed up, they would make sure the temp wooden door was shut which made us feel even more unwelcomed. This was just a very poorly executed event and all of us wasted our time and gas coming here today. I wish I knew that VIP stood for Very Indiscriminately Punked.
