Just an average phở place, but for us who’s around this area. Thank goodness we have this phở place that we don’t have to drive all the way to the other side of san jo just eat phở and over rice platter. I ordered my phở ga, which is pretty good and an guyabano or soursop smoothie, overly sweetened:(one sip, i cringe of the sweetness. Anyways, i also ordered boneless bbq pork with shrimp cake which my husband said its good. Over all, i will come back if I am craving for some vietnamese food, besides its the nearest in our house.

This has been one of the best phở I have had in a while. Although the service was slow and they forgot our soda, but the food is delicious. Order: veggie spring rolls, Phở Dac Biet Bo Vien, and coconut juice. The veggie spring rolls is the best! It was like homemade and soft tofu with crispy veggie. The soup was clean and flavorful. A regular size is huge! I’ll definitely come back and recommend this phở place.

I thought I’d give this place a try today. It still kinda feels like the old restaurant, just because the décor is not very different from before. They still have the round Mongolian style grill behind the counter. Besides that it is a totally different restaurant than before. I think it runs in the top two Phở places on the south side of San Jose. The broth is very flavorful and darker in color than most soup broths. The bowls were good size. I had a large #2 which was the combo with meatballs. There were plenty of ingredients in the soup. I was satisfied. We ordered some goi cuon as well. They were very good. Fresh made to order. My wife also had the Vietnamese iced coffee. She aid it was good. Overall it was a very good dining experience. Service wan’t bad but also not great. Then again, there are not too many Phở places were you get GREAT service anyways. It’s nice to know that we have a go to Phở place in our neighborhood now. We will be back !!! Happy eating !

Super friendly service! Tried the chicken and vegetarian phở here. Both were excellent! Tasty cà phê sa đá too. Looks like they have a full café or juice bar set up. The vegetarian broth had a nice mushroom flavor to it. Only small minuses. On the to-go, they didn’t label the broth, kind of a deal if one is vegetarian. Also, on to-go, they combine the Sriracha with the hoisin into one to-go cup.(only like it a little hot) I would easily come back! If ordering to-go, be sure to check your order before leaving.

Would have given them 4 stars if it weren’t for the extremely slow service and the server’s forgetfulness. He didn’t get our appetizer right and had completely forgotten about our beverages — we had already finished our food at this point. The tables in the restaurant weren’t clean as well, they took forever to wipe them down. So don’t be surprised if you walk into the restaurant and see dirty tables. Food wise — phở’s broth was a little too dark for my taste but the shrimp cake was amazing!

Corner Phở took over the old«President Restaurant» Mongolian/Chinese buffet and as much I miss my old spot, Corner Phở is a decent spot for Vietnamese food! I don’t live that far from here, so it’s nice to be able to just drive down the street rather then go over to Eastside for some phở(especially if it’s rainy out). Most of the employees were younger and friendly. The phở itself was SOILD! I enjoyed the broth and the noodles, but they could have more generous with the amount of meat in the bowl and other stuff(like bean sprouts/herbs). The broth is tasty and I didn’t get thirsty after eating it which probably means it wasn’t spiked with MSG lol…1 large bowl came out to about $ 11 after everything! Final piece of Dirty Donovan Life Advice: THEPHOCHALLENGE! Ask the staff to show you how big the bowl is, I’m up for any challenge but this thing looked ridiculous!

Was a big disappointment. We came in the evening and they were really slow so you think we would get even ok service? Nope. Our server drops of the menus and 40 seconds later comes«ready?» We said no. My wife dint even open the menu. Then he came again 1 min later then just stood there while we were looking at the menu, so awkward. So I ordered a large Hu tieu and my wife ordered regular phở with 3 options of meat. She pointed to the pictures literally 5 times. I thought it was a little ridiculous. Guess what happened? My large Hu tieu was a regular and it really looked just like a bowl of chicken broth. Chicken broth! Isn’t Hu tieu made with pork broth? It did not taste like Hu tieu and was so skimp. The 1 shrimp was tiny, 2 piece of fish cake that was really soft, 2 small fish ball, 2 piece of chicken breast slice that was sliced in half(really small) I think there was a piece of pork sliced deli thin and no ground pork(which said on the menu, ground pork). My wife’s phở was dark and oily and hahaha her order came out with the wrong meat. I guess 5 times want enough. Why do they even have pictures? I tasted it and it didn’t taste like phở. How are they getting 5 and 4 stars when we are in San jose with lots of phở restaurants in the area? My wife if full vietnamese and I am half so we are well experienced in this area. Hope this review helps out. I’m not telling to not come but make your own judgement. We left and went to get tacos down the street to get our good phood fix.

This phở place is new on the block. Stopped in here after playing tennis. Since it was pretty cold, my friend and I decided to try this place and have some phở. My friend and I had the beef phở and spring rolls. She also ordered the Tri-colored drink. She said the drink wasn’t as sweet as other places. The broth of the beef phở wasn’t as fatty… ot was just right. Good to know that this new phở place is here. It has also a huge flat screen tv, so sports and phở is hear to stay!

Best phở broth I’ve had in awhile. Incredibly flavorful and had a lot of depth, albeit was a tad oily. It was so good, condiments weren’t even really necessary! The noodles were well cooked and there was a good ratio of meat to noodles. Spring rolls were very fresh and didn’t have sprouts(yay). I thought they were pricy for $ 6.50 but it came out with three rolls instead of the standard two. My only qualm? The restaurant was just as cold as it was outside in late December. Otherwise, I am looking forward to trying other dishes and their drinks. Solid phở – best option in the area by far. Just a bit difficult to navigate the Capitol/Almaden Expy area.

Love that there is a Vietnamese restaurant in this neighborhood! My bf and I came in on a cold night not too long before closing, so the restaurant was pretty empty. Loved that the restaurant was so brightly lit and clean. We ordered spring rolls, regular bowl of combination phở and a beef stew with noodles. Everything was delicious and came out in a timely order. We also got a strawberry smoothie in a to go cup and it was great! The Warriors game was on that night and we asked if they were playing it. Our server didn’t know what channel it would be on for direct tv. Props to our server for being willing to change the channel for us! Now you know you can watch the game there while enjoying some delicious Vietnamese food. Can’t wait to come back and try other dishes as well!

So happy another phở restaurant opened up in my area! Closer to home, and tastes way better than the other local phở in the area. It was quiet and slow, but the perfect remedy for a cold night. Prices range from $ 8-$ 9.50 for a regular or large. I ordered my usual wonton phở with rice noodles with a side of white onions. It was a generous portion and piping hot. The wontons were tasty, shrimp and pork, and noodles weren’t clumped up like other places. The soup was delicious, not MSG like other places. My brother also really enjoyed his beef phở. Service was good, restaurant was clean, and I will be a frequent customer here!

Only been here once, and I’ve already fallen in love with this place. Customer service here is great… everyone is super friendly and helpful. Came here with friends after work just b/c they wanted to get their phở fix… I on the other hand, was craving a rice plate. Lol. Our orders: Appetizers: spring rolls… luckily, it was ordered WITHOUT mint… man was it good… so was the sauce The phở here is good, but I like the fact that you can change out the noodles for egg noodles if you want… and I do love me some egg. I tried some of my friend’s phở and sure enough it was delish… I love the idea of simplicity and deliciousness mixed together in a bowl haha… I ordered the beef rice plate that comes with shrimp cake. Omg, I’d order this again and again and not get tired of it… again, so simple yet delicious… tasted fresh and flavorful… I killed that plate like a G haha… Our drinks were pretty good too… I got the coconut drink, my friend got the soursop with pearls and the other avocado with pearls… Check this place out! It’s literally phở around the corner lol…

Had to come here the morning after an eventful, drunken night! Surprisingly, there weren’t many phở restaurants open early morning, except for this place. We decided to check it out. I ordered phở with meatballs, my friend got the special phở and substituted with egg noodles(pretty much has all the meat, tripe, all the goods in it). Their broth was very rich and flavorful! Def didn’t need to add any hoisin sauce in it. My friend said he’d had better phở before, located near his place, but I thought it was good! We got an order of the eggrolls to share, not bad. The place is fairly large– doesn’t look like it would be that huge from the outside, new, and clean. The staff is friendly and attentive. Very very fast, quick service! Parking is easy to find within the lot. The place is easy to find. off Hillsdale near the Capitol Automall. Reasonably priced, can’t complain.

After celebrating Wurstfest with friends, I was looking for something to cure the mini-hangover and Phở is always a good solution for that, IMO. So we came here to grab something to eat before we head home. This place use to be a Chinese restaurant, so I know the place quit well. The new ownership cleaned the place up, the additional lights and TV are awesome, I was able to catch up on the game updates. As for the food, I got the won-ton noodles, the broth is light yet flavorful, the won-ton is good. It hit the right spot. As for service, it was good, my only complain is that they didn’t refill my water, but that’s no big deal Overall, good phở place to cure mini-hangover.

Not sure what the hype is all about, but I will say it’s probably the best vietnamese spot in that area. I ordered the Hu tieu with seafood and the broth was bland. It was missing something. My grandpa did enjoy his bowl of phở though. The utensils were dirty, had old clumps of hoisin sauce on the spoons and the chopsticks had food on it. Other than that price was decent, service was good. I did over hear a convo a waitress was having with a customer, that was asking if the noodles will get soggy if they reheat it for dinner if they took it to-go. The waitress said I don’t know, our noodles probably won’t. Like all noodles are the same. So to the review response, not all noodles are the same there are different type of noodles obviously lol, I am vietnamese myself. I was simply stating that all noodles will get soggy if you stick it into the microwave to re cook it. In my mom’s & I opinion.(Once again it’s an opinion) This restaurant seems and will continue to get hyped, because its the best vietnamese restaurant in THAT area props to you… But anyways, parking was easy to get, the place was easy to find. After reading her response to my review, I took down a star, and I will not be coming back, nor will my family members. Just remember this review was based on MYPERSONAL experience, I am not bashing on the restaurant. So don’t assume :) #vietnameseStruggles«when the owner argues with a reviewer over NOODLES» quoted by a friend of mine after sharing my review.

Everybody loves a good Phở, it don’t matter what time of day it is, morning, night, nooners… o wait what are we talking about… wait what are you thinking about… Get yr mind out of the gutter playas, I’m talking about Corner Phở the new hot spot for Vietnamese food in South San Jose. First off, great customer service here, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. This place is fairly large and very welcoming for even large parties of 8 – 12. The menu is vast from Phở, to Vermicelli noodles, and they even have Korean Short Ribs along with a variety of other meat plates. Here’s what we ordered yo: Korean BBQ Plate — this was damn good, also comes with an egg, side of rice, and cucumber salad. Veggie Phở — large chucks of Tofu and they are very generous with the serving size even though we ordered a regular. Coconut Milk w/Mong Bean & Green Jelly — coconuty goodness and very sweet, can’t wait to order again. I can’t tell you the lack of Phở places in South San Jose, so glad this place opened up and is only 4 mins away from my place. Not only do they have good phở but if I am craving some Korean short ribs, I know I can count on Corner Phở. So stop hanging at the corner with the scrubs and get yr @ss over to Corner Phở yo!?!

10÷18÷15: Just got back, driving from LA and phở was looking real good to us. Glad we stopped by. Solid food near our home. I was going to give a 4, but thinking about it they weren’t consistently great, so I supposed«average» is more accurate. But there were certainly good things I thought were worth mentioning… 1. #61 Salted Plum Soda $ 3.75: This is definitely one of the greats here. Heck, I think this is the best plum soda I’ve ever had at any Vietnamese place. It’s my favorite Vietnamese phở house drink and almost always get it, so I’ve tried quite a few. Theirs is more flavorful than any I’ve tried. And the glass is pretty big too – many places use tiny glasses with barely ½ a cup worth to drink. 10⁄10 2. A2 Meat & Shredded Pork Skin Rolls $ 6.50: Pretty disappointing. The rolls were a little loose and small, and had very little meat in them, if any. In fact, I couldn’t really taste any of the pork skin. My gf thought they were vegetarian even! – and looking back at the pics I can’t see the meat either. Did they give us the wrong one? – the receipt shows the right item though. Well, anyway, assuming they gave us the right one, it’s pretty bad. 2⁄10 3. #28 Beef Stew w/Rice Noodles — Regular $ 8.25: The soup base itself was really flavorful. Great rich brown color. And the noodles were absolutely perfect – more on this below. And I took one of the stewed beef pieces(kinda like the Chinese stewed fatty/tendon beef) and it was super good, soft and perfect texture, so I was quite impressed at that point. Then my gf started to spit stuff out and I was like oh oh… and sure enough, all the other pieces were not stewed long enough and just couldn’t be chewed down and swallowed. So, great potential, but unfortunately there’s some bad pieces in there. If all the meat was like my first bite I’d give this a 9/10, but as is… 5⁄10. 4. #1 Special Combo — Regular $ 8.75: So, had to get The Dish to calibrate my ratings. First off, I must note how perfect the noodles are. I think the majority of places here give you clumped up phở, probably already having the phở placed in the bowl and sitting there for a while before you order. This phở was absolutely perfect – no strands were sticking, as as you dig in with your chopsticks the phở easily separates. So that was awesome. But I would say the broth is about average, and maybe needs a little more flavor. The meat is pretty average too, well, maybe a tad on the stingy side, but it’s fine. Well, noodles were great, but overall not too different from what you’d normally get elsewhere. 6⁄10. So, I think this place is convenient and good enough, but not that different from the norm. 3⁄5 #phở #vietnamese

**Phở Quest: Hu Tieu Side Quest #8** Corner Phở is a welcome addition to the Willow Glen area just a quick jaunt from the relatively barren(food wise) Capitol Expressway Auto Mall. It’s similar to fellow newcomer Phở Spot in that it’s a very clean, more mainstream Vietnamese restaurant than any of the more hole in the wall places you’d find in Little Saigon. The clean interior is more spacious than you’d expect on the inside and it indeed occupies the large corner spot of the small strip mall it’s a part of. While the menu has phở, it’s notable for a rather broad range of items including rice plates, Hu Tieu noodles, and seafood soups. While I’m a phở lover, I was in the mood for my next favorite noodle dish so I perused their Hu Tieu selection. Three options are available: wide rice noodles, thin rice noodles, and clear noodles. Each option is also available with soup on the side. Service was prompt and efficient and my order was brought out fairly quickly. Presentation is solid and I was soon digging in. Hu Tieu Nam Vang — $ 8.25. Two sides are available and I opted for the regular. A generous bowl with soup on the side was brought to my table with fresh and clean condiments of bean sprouts and lime. The Hu Tieu consisted of thin rice noodles, fish balls, fish cake, dark meat chicken, several cooked small shrimp, and some pork. It’s a more mainstream version from the absence of a large pork bone in the relatively clear broth and from the ingredients that focused less on pork or liver and prepared seafood items. Despite this, preparation was on point and it was a tasty and delicious bowl. I found myself enjoying it quite a bit and, again, the generous portion ensured I was quite full. Overall, I had a solid meal at Corner Phở and I’d have to give it a nod for their broad selection of dishes which may be more mainstream versions but are still done well and may even be better for the area. I look forward to coming back and I’ll try the phở dac biet… they may even have thick rice noodles given its availability in the Hu Tieu. Corner Phở accepts credit cards but not American Express.

Came here last night with the family and sister in law which meant we had 7 of us and 4 of those were kids. We walked right in and they greeted with a super warm greeting luckily it was like 5:30 and the place was empty. We sat down and we ordered and once the food came the staff was right there asking if we needed anything else they even brought scissors and cut the kids noodles in half so they could handle them easier, so helpful. The food was quite good, I had the #1 which had steak, brisket, tripe, tendon and other goodies. The large was pretty large indeed, I struggled to finish the whole thing. The broth was actually a little under salted but I prefer that so I can add salt if I choose. Often broth is too salty and as my momma says, «you can’t take it out once it’s in there.» The condiments were plentiful and they asked if we even wanted more for the kids food that we were taking home. Overall the food was really good and the environment with the employees was top notch. When the check came the 10% discount was on there as promised, yes!!! Come check them out, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the food and the service.
