4 ½ stars n that says a lot for me to give to a buffet! I really like this place. Great authentic Vietnamese food n very fresh. For those who thought the food was either too bland or too salty, well that because some of the dishes are meant to be salty to be eaten with rice. Other dishes are not seasoned because it’s meant to be wrapped with vegetables n dip in its pairing of dipping sauce. People who aren’t familiar with Vietnamese food may not understand why something is overly salty or bland. There are lot of food where you see a dipping sauce for it, each sauce is different to be pair with that particular dish. Please ask the waitress if there is a sauce for the dish you taste is bland because most likely you forgot the dipping sauce. Also i saw two dish, one chicken curry and another its beef soupy thing with beef tendon n km eat. There are small cut up bread nearby. use the bread to dip in the broth, please omg dont drink those like soup cuz it will be salty cuz its not a freakin soup! I like just about everything I ate. Fried extra crispy fish, so yummy. Pair it with their sweet ginger fish sauce and eat it with their savory sticky rice that has sweet Chinese sausage in it. So freaking good. Their banh Xeo aka Vietnamese crêpe is made to order next to the noodle soup area. It’s crispy and so yummy. Break small portion of it, wrap it in lettuce and dip it in fish sauce. Yummy! They also make that crispy half yellow looking cup thingy with shrimp inside. My Japanese husband calls it a half moon takoyaki lol. It taste similar just with different stuffing than the Japanese n more crispy. You have to dip that with fish sauce though like how takoyaki is drizzle with okonomiyaki n mayo sauce. Their crab is very well seasoned. I love Vietnamese food because it’s light and everything balance out with each other. It’s fresh, healthy n not oily or heavy or fill with cornstarch. I don’t feel sick after eating here. I’m so happy they provide good family real Vietnamese food. For a buffet I think the quality is comparable to a restaurant. Though they can remodel inside to give it a more modern hip look, a bit outdated old school look. Also, get more station for the crêpe cuz the line was long n they make one crêpe at a time which isn’t efficient for a buffet since a lot of people like that crêpe. Also note they have hot pot but it’s only for dinner so I didn’t get to try it since we came lunch. Price is round up $ 14 for weekend lunch. Service is really nice n quick. Waitress made sure drinks were refilled n plates cleared. Really nice girl. Everybody was professional. I’m coming back for sure if they continue with their quality of food. New places especially buffet tends to slack on quality after awhile from opening so hope that won’t be the case. Anyways longest review I ever wrote but that cuz I’m really happy with this buffet. And I love Vietnamese food if it’s done right. Recommend! No need to thank me for the short lesson on how to eat some of the Vietnamese dish lol. Just eat it the right way so you can experience the true flavor n balance of Vietnamese cuisine. Freakin darn I just remember I didn’t took any photos! Ugh the food was too much my focus, next time Unilocalers.

This place is not good. I hate the hotpots and the food just doesn’t taste good! The only thing I liked was the clams. I will never come here again.

Former Ha Long Bay. Even the same location. For the price, its hard to beat. I love their seafood selection and their dessert bar. Basically what I live for!

A buffet that has mostly vietnamese food and desserts. Knowing my mom, she can’t eat much food outside the vietnamese cultural food so this place was the best for her. The xoi was really good along with the che desserts! Our server was Ngoc and she got us everything we needed. Refilled our drinks without us having to ask! :) took away our empty plates and left us with a smile. Definitely taking my mom and her friend back!

Absolutely excellent. Great choices in all categories. The place has a clean presentation, and each item tasted very good. I am white and my wife is Vietnamese. We are both picky. Buffets can often be marginal. Not this one. If you are new to Vietnamese food, this buffet offers a chance to sample many of the classic dishes.

Excellent choices of hot pot, bánh xèo, desserts and many more! We were surprised by the variety of food as well as the quality here. The hotpot is fresh and delicious. For the price, it’s very reasonable. We will be frequent customers from now on!

I stopped here after work with family thinking it was another Buffet. When we walked in we were confused looking for Japanese and Chinese food. I never really had anything outside of Phở before as far a Vietnamese food goes but I was very pleased. The kids didn’t mind either… I absolutely loved the hotpot too. I will definitely be back soon.

Welcome back my favorite Vietnamese buffet! So happy when seeing this place be back serving a variety of Southern Vietnamese dishes. The new name, Mekong Buffet, is more suitable, since most dishes are characterized with Southern taste and flavors, sweetish and spicy. My favorites include the excellent sweet and sour soup with stewed pork and boil egg(thit kho trung). The zesty chicken wings are the best, especially when pared with sticky rice. The bitter melon soup is always fresh. The boiled fresh vegetable with tangy fish sauce dip is never boring. In addition you can choose«banh xeo»(creep), banh khot, Phở and other noodles drom the kitchen bar. The«che»(sweet desserts selection is so tatsty. In short, this place is a great place for lunch due to it rich food selection and reasonable price. Highly recommended!

big variety of foods, six varieties of cat fish, soups were tasty not your canonical«chinese buffet» most of the clients were oriental people, which speaks for the place, but if you don’t like fish & sea food, remember that the place reeks of it. staff does not speak much English, and the used plates were not cleared off our table often enough.

I felt really frustrated because I couldn’t find their phone number nor their business hours so I have taken pictures of them. Anyway, this was my first time eating at a Vietnamese buffet! There are Chinese food too but I primarily came to try the Vietnamese food. In terms of pricing, it’s cheaper than this other buffet I went to back in Daly City. It was a half hour wait since my family and I got there at around 12. My expectations weren’t high since it was a buffet, though I was really full by the end of the meal. Also, they charge you for ice tea but I’m not sure about water(they probably don’t). The taste isn’t bad for a buffet and they offer a variety of food. Since I’m shy, I was waiting for quite some time for the banh khot, which I thought was really good. The banh xeo was also good. The ladies who were serving these fried eggs also had to double in making phở, bun bo hue, canh chua, and other soups. They serve different types of seafood, meat, and che. Some dishes were too flavorful for my taste. Service is ok but not terrible. The waitresses are kind. I wouldn’t go again unless it was for a special family event. Go and try it out for yourself but don’t have high expectations.

Ton of people here. Not sure why. Food is average. But then again I don’t see many Vietnamese buffets before. In the future I probably rather order ala cart. If you order the phở the seafood soup tastes better in my opinion. Also they have some yellow Fried things at the phở station. Everybody lines up for it. You can get small size(like a little dome) or big size like an omelette. Either way put it like a sandwich with lettuce and dip it in fish sauce which is near the peanut sauce. It looks like clear yellow oil. Otherwise it’s tasteless.

So disappointed. First buffet place that does not have an ice cream machine. My 8 year old niece could not believe it! I do like the hot pots offered here, it just didn’t fit for a buffet. This is more a Vietnamese style buffet. There are endless Vietnamese food here and normally I love Vietnamese food, but I don’t think it works well at a buffet. Vietnamese food are large portions that is meant to be a separate meal, even if you make the portion sizes smaller, it doesn’t work! Sorry for the low rating, but I totally thought this place would be good.

Our family came to this restaurant yesterday for dinner and surprisingly that foods were excellent and super fresh. Shrimps are large and a lot of seafoods. Salmon was fresh and tender. Overall, foods are great, fresh, a lot and much better than their predecessors. Love the Vietnamese desserts here. BTW, service is also great. We definitely will come back soon.

Better than Fusion Buffet(in my opinion as I know others might feel differently). Food was more fresh and the preparations seemed more sanitary than previous attempts of a buffet restaurant at this address. Workers wore gloves when refilling food stations. Hot pot was pretty good as the raw head-on shrimps cooked in the hotpot tasted better(and more fresh) than the cooked ones they served. Props for having more ethnic/diverse foods such as chicken feet. Service was pretty decent as the used plates were removed from our tables quite often. Intact, I’d say the workers were a bit too anxious removing plates. Even with many uneaten foods on a plate, they would often just remove them without asking if you were done. I suppose they’re used to many non-asians not liking their food picks so workers just constantly remove all dishes all the time as if there was a contest to see which worker can collect the most used plates or something. Overall, I was satisfied. Manager/owner seemed nice and friendly as well. Also the price isn’t bad. Only a $ 1 difference between weekday and weekend prices, not too shabby. I’ll bet this restaurant will last longer than Fusion.

My dad still loves this buffet even though they changed the name. Tip: This buffet serves a mix of Chinese & Vietnamese food Hotpot comes with buffet. Broth is good and flavorful. I think it was lau do bien(seafood hotpot) or could be a Thai flavored broth. Idk whatever it was, get it spicy for extra flavor. Not much variety with the add-ons, but there was a decent selection(nothing special though). Of the seafood, I liked how they had blue raw crab, clams, tripe, and baby octopus. Oh and can’t forget the veggies and 3 different kinds of noodles. Service is good. Manager is attentive and seems to actually care about the place by welcoming customers and checking up on them. Garlic salt&pepper crab was one of the best items here. It even better than some restaurants. They also have phở, bun mam, banh xeo, and much more that I haven’t tried. Banh khot tasted dry & floury to me though. Maybe cause I got the last 3 that were sitting too long. Overall, it has potential! The food selection needs abit more variety though. But I’m not complaining =)

Review from White American Guy that loves Asian cuisine, and eats Vietnamese almost weekly. My wife and I came in, I tried 7 items, and my wife tried 4 items. We didn’t finish our plates, or go back to try more. Everything was either lacking flavor, or so salty that it was hard to eat, and I’m a salt freak! I met the first chicken wing that I couldn’t eat… and I love chicken wings. The last operators here knew what they were doing. They offered a wide profile of different cuisines, and had staples that chubby guys like me look for, like fried chicken wings instead of marinated slimy ones. They had more noodle options. They didn’t cook their food to death either. The service WAS rad. It was very overpriced though, at $ 34+tip for lunch for 2… at a buffet, we wont be back. On the way out, the woman we paid on exit asked if we liked everything, and I said, honestly most everything was too salty or didn’t have much flavor, to which she very quickly responded, «maybe you expect Chinese and not know Vietnamese food like.» I do though. If you’re dragged here by family members, I suggest a hot pot… the ingredients looked fresh. Miss the old place, their traditional Vietnamese dishes were better IMO.

We really enjoyed this facility when it was Fusion Buffet. We decided for our family to eat there for Thanksgiving. We were sadly disappointed. There were many odd foods which for a native Vietnamese might be exciting. However, for the rest of us it would have been good to have a larger variety. Upon entering the restaurant, we asked the man at the front the price and were told $ 11.75. Apparently we missed the paper sign that read $ 18.75 holiday price. For a holiday and that type of pricing we expected much more than what was offered. We will definitely not be returning. I must say the service was great. We had a couple of employees who stayed nearby to answer any question about how to eat many of the foods including the soup pot on the table.

I came over to look at the sign which said remodeling. A guy who was very nice came up said they would be open tomorrow as a Vietnamese buffet. I liked the food at the previous ownership, but at the same time I’m excited to see a return of our unique Vietnamese items, including the great Vietnamese desserts and drinks. I really like the location, which is a nice-looking building with the parking being kind of private. Lots of room in the parking lot. Some of the seating seems re-arranged inside. I can’t wait to try it! Now it is Sunday and they are open, and I am first in, mainly owing to the sign that said«Now open» because they don’t have a sign with the regular hours yet. Inside, you will find many of your favorites from Halong Bay, including the make to order station and the Vietnamese desserts, including grass jelly, basil seed drink and Thai fruit dessert, as well as the cakes. Spring rolls are back, too. One of the vegetable dishes has a really good sauce that goes with it, with peppercorns that aren’t completely ground, or maybe it’s coarsely ground pepper. Salmon, stews and salads are also available. The food here is not very spicy, which is typical of buffets. There is sriracha sauce to use. The workers here are very nice, and if they have time they might even show you how some foods go together. Lots of different things for the whole family.
