Wow what a gem! Great service, even better food. Hands down the best Chile Verde burrito ever. Huge chunks of meat, tender and so much flavor. Huge too! Sope al Pastor was the bomb an my taco suave carnitas was excellent. Try this place, have your car washed while you eat. You won’t regret it.

Es sabroso… nom nom… first time here… dining al fresco… the street is noisy, but cute festive tile and colors, as all fun mex places should be… bean and cheese burrito wet has a lovely creamy red sauce, not bitter, just subtle, perfecto. My cousin and his 80 yr old mom loved the menudo… portion was generous and didn’t have that certain telltale odor… menudo to go and make your mom happy. Giveaway of free 2016 calendars with recipes of 12 alcoholic drinks so u can be the most popular person at your next party. Service is muy friendly… u order at counter and sit in small 10 table room… or on the sweet curbside patio… clean…attentive tablesside service for drink refills… Muy bueno… if i am in area, definately will be back . Pro: Surprise in the coffee… cinnamon, nice touch Tia. Friendly place. Festive al fresco dining… A rating. Also car wash next door.

Came for breakfast and had chilaquiles, they are green and came with rice and beans. They were not spicy so it was ok. Service is friendly but they were backed up so it took a while to get food.

Stopped here while I was in the neighbor hood. This place caught my eye because of the authentic look of this restaurant. I ordered the carne asada nachos which was really good. The beans were real authentic Mexican breans, could tell they were homemade. They give chips and salsa with every order which were homemade as well. My over all experience was great. the service was good the food was good the bathrooms were clean.

Used to frequent this place when I worked and lived in the area, service was good but my plate looked put together. Ordered the taquitos combination plate and there was hardly any guacamole… Nachos looked decent but lacked flavor… Really disappointed

This spot is definitely hit or miss. Over-priced, sub-par burritos all the way. Best thing I’ve tried is their flautas, but they are not mind blowing or anything. Tip: Marinate your meat better and cut out all the fat before selling it to your customers.

I love going here for Mexican food. The enchiladas are the best. I usually get green chicken enchiladas with the combo of rice and beans. Also they have huge tostadas for only $ 7 I love this place food quality is way better than the Macho Café.

Customer service sucks. Cashier was rude and Automatically assumed my husband spoke Spanish because he is Latino. Waitress was rude because I am Asian. She did not attend to our table And that is why we did not tip her.

Food here is ok. I came and got their nachos, and the chips weren’t that fresh. Had a bit of a stale taste to it. Also got their lunch combo burrito. Portions were huge, but it wasn’t anything that wowed me. It’s just convenient because I can grab something to eat here while I get my car washed next door.

There’s no doubt I needed a car wash, carrying around dirt and grime from a recent trip to the outskirts of Sacramento and back, including a dusty detour of I-5 along two lesser Central California valley roads. However, the car wash next door would have to take a back seat. Bound by a tight evening schedule, Tia Gladys was the destination, a restaurant brought to my attention by a Website friend(yo, Annette). Colorful curtains in front of the windows facing the car wash feature toucans and macaws in a rain forest, but you might prefer displacing them for the entertainment value of watching the workers, especially if it’s your car’s turn. The festivities began with a stainless-steel bowl of blah tortilla chips and a sampling from the self-serve salsa bar, the highlight of which was the fresh, pickled jalapeño, carrot and onion slices. Alongside were bowls containing two red salsas, fresh pico de gallo heavy on the onions, and salsa verde, all resting in a bed of ice. Steak picado burrito was featured for $ 4.99 on a Tuesday special, but carnitas is how I test most Mexican restaurants, so I got the burrito a la carte wet-style with red sauce($ 6.99). Despite being folded with the beans on one side and the meat on the other, it was a smash hit once each forkful covered the burrito’s entire width. I managed to do justice to about 60 per cent of the wet, hulking, tortilla-wrapped monster(TWSS) on-site. The remainder tasted even better reheated for breakfast – that’s right, you heard me – two days later. I’m unfamiliar with San Gabriel, so I wonder if the restaurant(est. 1979) was named after the street. Must’ve been, but the city should rename it Tia Gladys Avenue.

I get my car washed next door so I come here often. I recommend the steak omelet! The red sauce(which they say they make in-house) is truly a delight. I told the waitress I want to drink that sauce like a beverage but there might of been a language barrier there lol! Spanish rice is pretty decent.(this is one of the hardest Mexican foods to make correctly IMO) The beans are ok too. Maybe I’ll ask for a cup of red sauce next time and drink it at home when nobody;s looking. tee he! I’d recommend to my friends and use the words.“pretty good“ Oh yea, they have wine cooler margaritas here for all you lushes out there in Unilocal-land.

This place sucks! If you’re a white person good luck trying to get your food and then the chef talks shit in Spanish about let that white person wait last. Just walked out and got my money back after waiting 15 min. I am an Italian on a Mexicans diet I love the Mexican culture and food. Last time I will ever step foot back here!

I come to the car wash next door all the time, and today I was hungry. The place is So cozy inside, I just wanted to stop by to grab a few tacos to go, and I ended up having a meal. Tacos are quite decent, and the beans and rice are so tasty, I thought it took the spot light from the carne and the pastor. Their salsa is definitely homemade since the diced tomato is of very uneven sizes with big chunk of green onions. Presentation of the salsa bar could use some womanly touch, but the whole place is vined with plenty of the feminine touch already.

Decent Mexican food option in San Gabriel. They have a nice selection tacos, burritos, and all of your favorite and traditional dishes. I had the Carne asada plate for like $ 9 something. The meat was solid and appreciate the marination talent. The rice was also on point. The beans were a bit salty and the salsa bar and service could have been a little better. Might be back again.
