They do a great job at commercial catering! If stopping in, call ahead for pickup if it’s lunch hour during the week. The shrimp burrito is my favorite. Anything seafood they do really well! Never over cooked and plump seafood. Seafood burritos are $ 11 – 14 regular burritos around $ 10 The mango salsa is the best from the salsa bar.

If you are looking for the best tacos in San Francisco, then come here. Do not come here at noon because it is too crowded and you have to stand in a long line — although it moves fast. Come at 10:30 a.m. and order a crispy chorizo taco. No, order two crispy tacos because once you finish the first one you will wish you had another. They are reasonably priced at $ 4.50. They also make their own chorizo and the ingredients across the board are organic and personally grown. That makes all the difference. Plus the tacos are put together beautifully, are with beautifully seasoned chorizo, and with guacamole and a healthy dab of sour cream. I normally would not give this place five stars because it is a stand up and order at the counter place but they bring the food to your table promptly and so it is close to a sit down experience. But, the food and friendly staff are so exceptional, I have to give it five stars. Do not try just the tacos, everything they make here is outstanding and authentic. Each day they have a special that is tantalizing. Do not miss this place!

Great lunch spot! Love their salads and burritos. We order our lunches here for the office often and they’ve never gotten the order wrong even for 15+ people at times. Their guacamole is the best and their salsas are awesome but if it says spicy, it is spicy so don’t trick your colleagues who can’t eat spicy. Tlaloc has very good options for vegetarians, vegans and those on low carb diets. Plus they use organic and local produce. Try their Ensalada de Nopales or Tilapia, Mar y Tiera Burrito, Low Carb Meat Burrito, Nopales Mole Burrito and Quesadillas. Call ahead or fax in your order and jump to the front of the line to pick up. They always have a long line.

Sorry everyone, but I have to differ and say that I think that Tlaloc is a bit overrated. A couple of criticisms: 1) I generally find the burritos here to doughy. Yeah, it is just tortillas right? But however they do it, it comes on as too much tortilla for me. That is a non-starter. And I have this place two chances on this, and it was way too much tortilla each time. 2) The salas are completely underwhelming. I just find them generally too watery and lacking in flavor. Yes, again I have tried it twice and came to the same conclusion. 3) Everyone talks about the frescas here. Way too sweet for me. Sorry Tlaloc — Many say you are the best Mexican place in town. Just not for me.

This is a great lunch spot in the Financial District. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 based on the prices($ 14 for a salad is a bit much), but hey, sometimes it’s important to treat yourself. I love the salsa bar(who doesn’t?) and the fact that your entrée comes with chips. I’ve had the tilapia, shrimp and chicken and all 3 are very high quality. It’s also a cute spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Get here early(11:30 — 11:45) or you’ll wait in a long line.

Just tried it for lunch. Lunch line but it moves fast. The menu has lots of items, tacos and burritos galore. Tried the soft shrimp tacos and ate upstairs. They were delish, served with tortilla chips which I dipped in various salsa. If you can take spicy the inferno rated salsa is a mean kick to your tongue. Highly recommend it.

Service — Probably the worst, everyone here seems to be disgruntled maybe due to the crowd they deal with on a daily basis. When we asked for for here they gave us a takeaway bag. Anytime you asked and employee for something(like a container for salsa) they would either not answer or give an excuse why they couldn’t help you at the moment. This was strange considering we were there at 10:30 and were the only ones. Food — had the nopales and mole burrito. The mole was good, tortilla was unimpressive. Overall I expect a lot more, especially for $ 10. Space — Everything is very disorganized, it’s not really clear where you order. The space is not setup in a very thought out way. Needs more signage.

My favorite lunch option I’ve found so far in SF. Here’s why: –Excellent lunch menu with a pretty diverse selection. The Chicken Taco Salad is incredible and the perfect amount of food. Although, I respect the aggressive folks who don’t subscribe to the«light lunch» way of life and attack the various seafood burritos/tacos. –You’ll pay anywhere from $ 9 – 15 and leave happy. –They have a salsa bar, and you can actually just sample as many of their salsa offerings as you like. I hadn’t seen this before and I think it’s awesome.

3.5 stars Tlaloc has good Mexican food, but what really stood out to me was the salsa! I’m not usually the type to rave about sauce(I’m more the type to be wolfing down the burrito) but the avocado salsa in particular was very unique and tasty. As many other Unilocal reviews have mentioned, there’s a salsa bar that offers 5 – 6 choices so you are bound to find something you like! I would recommend the burritos or tacos over the salads, which are pretty plain.

Tlaloc is my favorite Mexican in the Financial District. The service is quick, and the staff is friendly. They close off Commercial st. And setup a bunch of tables with nice Mexican style chairs. When it’s rainy or cold, they have 3 floors of seating. The food is more expensive than your average burrito or taco, but The meat os cooked to order, not just sitting there in a warming vat all morning. They also have good spices on their shrimp and pablano dishes. Not the BEST mexican You’ll ever have, but still very good There really arent any major negatives to Tlaloc unless you are on a tight budget. It does get very crowded around 12:30, but plan your visit accordingly! However, They are able to handle the crowds well.

SO overpriced. $ 13 for an uneventful salad. That said, I could DRINK the salsa, it’s that good. The garlic salsa and the pumpkin seed salsas are SABROSO! Nice outside seating.(The woman at the register was RUDE too btdubs.)

Organic. Sustainable. Locally grown. Vegetarian options(many). Fun seating upstairs. Outside eating. Line at lunch but it moves fast.

Fresh, not overly salty, salsa that taste authentic even a tad bitter(which I love) and prompt service. Had the grilled veggie burrito and they held the guac just like I asked. Perfect. Exactly what I look for in a close to work lunch spot.

A hidden gem indeed! Tlaloc is a place where you would have never expect to have found in the Financial District. Here, the walls are painted with symmetrical designs contain exposed brick that makes you feel at ease. The atmosphere is bombarded with activity from the other Financial District workers. It is funny to see people wearing suits in such a fun joint. I also enjoy how they use the large warehouse wisely by not crowding each floor with chairs and tables. The three floors contain just the right amount of seating to hold big and small parties. It also has large windows that a lot of natural light to come in even if you’re sitting in the corner furthest away from them. I was very happy! The service was really nice and quick as well! I had a regular steak burrito that came with a side of crispy chips. The chips were salted perfectly which I enjoyed. They also give you little containers to hold their large selection of salsa. I really enjoyed their mild avocado, mild mango and their mild garlic salsa! All were a very delicious addition to my burrito. As for my burrito, I feel like it’s a little overpriced for what it was. I felt that the salsa sogged up the burrito really quickly but I was happy that we ate in house with a fork and a knife. The pinto beans and salsa were amazing and the steak was pretty juicy. I feel like this is a nice escape from a bumbling place like the Financial District. I enjoy the festive atmosphere and their food is pretty amazing as well!

A hidden gem in the financial district, though if you love mexican food, chances are you already know about this place. The pollo adobada burritos are the absolute truth, and their carnitas burritos are also very good. While not the best burritos in town, in downtown where your primary burrito alternatives are the Chipotle across the street… and the other Chipotle four blocks away… Tlaloc is a saving grace. Their much hyped salsa bar is also really clutch, and offers a nice selection of different types of flavors from mild all the way to caliente. In particular, I was a big fan of the avocado salsa, especially as my burrito didn’t come with guacamole, so it completed things perfectly. The mango salsa is also excellent. The upstairs seating is nice, as is the fact that they bring your food up to your table and provide large glass cups for water. Just be mentally prepared to drop over $ 10, because that’s just what things cost around here and I just don’t know why.

Tlaloc is a pretty weird place. It’s more like a fun house with its weird structure than a restaurant. == Food == The steak quesadilla here is really weird. It’s not your traditional quesadilla… it had a weird pocket like structure to it. It tasted alright overall, but I kind of wished I went with a burrito. The salsa bar has a variety of different sauces. There’s a spicy one that has a really good kick to it. Be careful with the salsa bar… some of the sauce dishes were really clean. They had some sauce strains still on the inside. == Service == Since this place is structured weirdly, you’ll order at the entrance for«here» or «to go». If you get it for«here», you’ll receive a number, which you find a table on one of the floors. The kicker is that the waiter doesn’t know which floor you’re on so said waiter will go through a bunch of floors to search for your number. Slow service in other words and your food may be lukewarm. == Overall == Maybe a good place for«to go» food, but a really weird place for dining in. The quesadilla I got wasn’t what I was expecting. The burrito may be the item to get.

Hidden spot for breakfast burritos and platters in the Fidi. The chilaquiles breakfast burrito is my favorite and at $ 5, one of the more affordable ones close to my office. Breakfast burritos all come with chips and salsa too. The salsa bar is one of the most varied ones around — pumpkin, garlic, mango, cucumber, tomatillo, etc. Lunch is tasty enough, but not as rave worthy. Avoid the bland salads with dry chicken. Seafood and steak burritos or tacos are the way to go. However, spending over $ 10 on a burrito/taco at lunch, even if it’s the going price for lunch in the Fidi, is much less appealing.

Fidi eye candy. Are you in heat?(from their hot red salsa, maybe?) Kidding! #notreally This place is humongous. Three floors of noisy conversation between stocks guy on his iphone6, to the handsome boys on table 42, to the two cute girls digging into their taco bowls. Like I said, Fidi eye candy. Once you’re done drooling after the buffet, I mean, SALSABAR, sit down and take a sip of your watermelon agua fresca. Smack your lips and proclaim, «so deliciously refreshing!» Chow down on your taco bowl chock full of lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, black beans, cucumber and prawns! It took awhile to finish this large enselada because I took my time eyeing the buffet, I mean, going back and forth the salsa bar!(ay carumba!) Either that salsa bar is really, really great or I just need more saborrr in my life.

I kind of love this place! TOSTADACOSTENA($ 13) Grilled prawns, calamari and fish marinated with adobo salsa served with lettuce, guacamole and queso fresco. *droooool. And it comes with chips! The only sad thing is that the tostada gets a bit soggy from everything that sits on top of it. It’s quite a hefty meal too — I was starving when I got this and I have maybe 5 bites and almost all of my chips leftover. ATMOSPHERE When you first enter, it looks like it’s Chipotle-style but it really isn’t. There’s huge menus on the wall and you order at the end of the counter. After ordering, they hand you two small containers for you to fill with your choice of salsa at the bar in the back. There’s standing room between the cashier and the salsa bar for those who order to go. If you’re eating in, there are tables upstairs. My second time here, it was a rainy day so I wanted something close by work. Tlaloc it is! I was happily greeted by a live band singing and playing Mexican music. At first, I was beh because it was so loud and it was a struggle to order. But as I waited for my food, I started to smile. They were really good and livened up the atmosphere!

Must get in words about Cancun’s close relative restaurant, Tlaloc Sabor Mexicano. Me gusta este restaurante tambien! This was one of the go-to places when I used to work in the FiDi. When it was Fridays, this one of the places we would get take-out to eat back at the office. Of course, I got to go pick up the order. I would call in the order first. The burritos were what we would order. One of the bosses would order chicken, another would order steak. I would always order carnitas. What we really appreciated where the frequent buyer cards. There were some days there would be the cost of only paying for two burritos instead of three. And like their relative, salsa bar! I will have to come for a sentimental visit. Hope they still do frequent burrito cards. Viva Tlaloc!
