Great atmosphere and food! Had brunch here with my girl friend, we liked it. The interior design is simple and modern, But there’s limited space between each table. We came with a baby, which little bit hard to fit in. The open kitchen definitely is a good idea, you can see how they prepare you meal inside. The girl who took the order had great smile and very welcoming. Food tasted fresh, we ordered pork belly hash and egg sandwich with bacon. I love my winter pork belly hash so much, it came with sautéed kale and rainbow potato, you don’t feel guilt for this healthy option. Don’t expect too much service, as its more likely a café style restaurant, people are chilled.

Horrible experience overall: Terrible service, I don’t understand why they expect the same amount of tips(preprinted: 15/18/20% on credit card slip) while all they do is merely taking your plates away. i had to clean our own table with baby wipes and when I asked the waitress for water, she just pointed at the water dispenser right next to her by the register and said go get yourself. The worst thing was the orange juice I ordered was expired! I had a sip and it was bubbly with probably a long fermentation process time! My first reaction was: did they give me Kombucha by mistake? So I asked the waitress and her reply was«Oh really, did you tasted it? Need a new one? No sympathy nor apology. My stomach was achy for a while afterward. Food was way too bland and not well prepared. We ordered a waffle/pork belly with poached eggs. The eggs were nearly raw with egg white being transparent sitting on soggy waffles. We also ordered a butternut squash frittata, we suspected that they either forgot to put salt or ran out it. It has a lot of good ingredients in there but very poor execution. In conclusion, I will not recommend anyone i know or care about to go there until they have improved their food and service.

Nothing we ate here was good. I don’t understand the good reviews. Perhaps I went on an off night – in fact, I hope I did. I came here after a workout, so I was ready to EAT. –Burger: The burger itself was juicy, but there wasn’t much else in it other than the beef patty and cheese. There was a little mayo, and a little bit of tomato. But the ratio of other ingredients was… sad. The side salad was even more depressing. It looked like they took arugula and stuck it on a plate. No olive oil, no salt, no dressing. Nada. Just dry arugula. –Jalapeño-Honey Chicken: My friend ordered this. She said it tasted overly sweet – like they poured a cup of honey on the chicken. So, you could barely taste the Jalapeño. And just like me, this girl likes to eat. So I was surprised when she left over half of it. –Grilled cheese: I was still hungry after my burger, and my friend didn’t finish her chicken sandwich, so we split a grilled cheese. Now, I saw pictures of this grilled cheese and ours looked NOTHING like theirs. I must ask: WHERETHECHEESEAT??? It was good bread(seemed like a ciabatta), and good cheese. But to me, a grilled cheese isn’t 90% bread and 10% cheese. So sadly, this didn’t hit the mark, either. The tomato soup was awesome – probably the only delicious thing worth noting I had that night. I don’t see a reason to come back here unless I only wanted a cup of tomato soup.

Delicious quaint little place. Small selection of food but the food tastes good! The restaurant gets hot in the sun. Good thing they have free water at the counter. It’s not a family friendly spot as there are only a few tables. Overall it was a good find on short notice for a pretty good small $ 11 burger and $ 9 grilled cheese.

Had a salad here today — oh dear! The salad is delicious. It is $ 10 a bowl. Honey lemon vinaigrette, shaved parmesan cheese and finely minced apples add so much freshness to the mixed arugula — outstanding! I would love to be back on the weekend to try egg benedict!

I think it’s safe to call this place my go to brunch spot! I absolutely LOVE how they change up the menu weekly! They always surprise me with something new! If you ever wander into this place you need to try the Pork Belly Hash or the Hot Mess!

Breakfast sandwich blew my mind! And the rest of the menu seemed innovative yet homey. Perfectly constructed breakfast sandwich from the curry-spicy aioli, light bed of greens, smokey thick cut bacon, lovely pickled onions, beautiful sunny side up eggs, to melted fontina on a flour dusted roll. So good – I know I will be back. Friends got the waffle-eggs Benedict with pork belly – every bite gone and another friend the breakfast tacos– high praise although not as dramatic/sinful. Great music choices and really a fantastic place to help you get back on track on a Sunday morning.

This is a casual comfort food spot from the people behind Sons & Daughters. The staff there are all very relaxed, friendly, and down-to-earth. I usually stick to my favorites of the grilled cheese with egg and bacon or the burger, but just about anything you order will be tasty. While they have a few staples that they always offer, the menu changes daily. I’ve never had anything here that I didn’t enjoy. They used to post their menus daily to their Instagram account, but unfortunately the updates aren’t as frequent anymore. I usually order to go, so I do miss that option, but eating at the restaurant is also a pleasant experience: it is a very relaxed unassuming environment.

Pretty great for brunch! Pretty awesome menu, and all are reasonably priced. This restaurant is owned by the same people as Sons & Daughters which may help explain why it’s pretty solid. Interesting menu pretty decent pricing. The breakfast tacos here are pretty solid, and the eggs benedict that a friend ordered looked great.

Breakfast is popular here so I decided to stop by one morning. I love the pork and egg breakfast rice bowl as it was so flavorful and satisfying! I want to come back soon and have this again.

Came here with a friend after work. We sat down instead of ordering first, which was a faux pas. But, not a huge deal. The staff was still happy to help us out. They have a small menu, and I really wanted the pork torta. However, they had sold out of the tortas for the day. Bummer. I ordered the Spicy Cowboy instead. It had some good flavors. I would go with the side salad instead of the chips next time because the sandwich itself was pretty heavy. My friend ordered a burger with an added fried egg and arugula side salad. She loved it! The restaurant is small, with half of it being the kitchen/food prep area and the other half seating for diners. It’s a tight squeeze if you are dining in. Overall food is solid. I would probably do take out next time.

This place is legit. I had a sandwich which came with some greens, and then ordered a beer. Pretty cool they have rotating cans and cocktails and sandwiches. Woodruff is bringing awesome favors to sandwiches.

Found this cute little corner place for brunch. It’s a tight squeeze and they have very limited seats, but someone is bound to leave as it’s pretty obvious that it’s not a place where you sit around forever. I ordered the Egg Sandwich with bacon and a cup of coffee while my husband ordered the Farmer’s Scramble with bacon and oj. The coffee was in a nice big cup and I don’t recall what brand coffee they pour, but it was good. The Egg Sandwich was pretty big and messy once the egg burst, but I couldn’t get enough of it! I especially liked the ciabatta bun. Also came with a side of arugula salad. The Farmer’s Scramble was really good as well. I’m usually not a huge fan of scrambles, but this one, I could have probably eaten the whole bowl! I’ll have to order this next time. Hope to visit again when I’m in the area.

Their egg and arugula breakfast sandwich sounds like a boring breakfast, but they do it perfectly and elevate it to the heights of extreme taste-gasms. My two-egg monstrosity of a sandwich was cooked perfectly and when paired with their quick pickled onions and(I think) their secret ingredient curry, you can’t stop eating it to the last bite! Don’t underestimate the side arugula salad, it has a great lemon zest and 6 bites in I am still at a guess what herbs or spices they’re putting in the damn dressing. But seriously at $ 7(or was it $ 8?) you can’t go wrong on this.

Great atmosphere — very ‘cute’. We had high hopes going in for a solid breakfast. The food looked good, the vibe was solid — and the wheels fell off. They were turning a hopping business that morning, and the three people working simply couldn’t keep up. The only customer facing employee seemed nice and polite — she was just oversubscribed! Wait times were significant which resulted in an over-packed seating area for what should have been a more ‘turn-n-burn’ restaurant. The food looked great, but simply didn’t live up to expectation. The corned beef, in particular, was tough and underwhelming in flavor. The chilaquiles were shockingly bland with salsa that seemed straight out of Smart & Final’s taste-free section. As much as we wanted to like it, we wouldn’t go back.

GLOVESPEOPLE!!! Thought this placed look alright and the food was ok, but once I saw this sweaty hipster touching all the food with no gloves I lost my appetite. Small portions were not worth the price. If you are wiping your forehead and checking your phone then touching my sandwich with your dirty hands, you should pay me to eat your food!

One of my favorite eateries I visited in San Francisco. The atmosphere was open and small. you can see straight over the counter into the kitchen area. They really now how to organize a lot of stuff into a small space and still make it look and feel stylish. Their mimosas were so on point. They filled the cup 94% with champagne and then added the other 6% orange juice and it only cost $ 6! It was quite the deal. We also got a free one for posting a photo of our food on Instagram. I got the simple breakfast. It was simply delicious. Two eggs over easy, bacon, and their special potato cakes. The bacon was the best bacon I have had since I can remember. It was thick and flavorful. I loved the feel of this small space and would return weekly if I lived here. They were really good at getting peoples to go orders to them fast.

I accidentally and serendipitously stopped by this restaurant by mistake and had a great, although brief, experience. I thought I was supposed to meet my friends here, but they went to another location. As I erroneously waited for my friends to show up I had a well prepared french press coffee and had an awesome conversation with some hipsters about Star Wars. When I discovered my friends were at another location the manager didn’t charge me for the coffee. Layout — The floor space is completely open, including the kitchen. It can seat maybe 20 or so people. Beverage — French Press Coffee — Good(4⁄5) Experience(5⁄5) — How could I not want to return?

I ended up here with friends during Sunday brunch primetime. Just about every place had an hour wait so we ended up eating here due to our time crunch… this turned out to be a mistake. Sweet Woodruff reminds me of the many hipster cafes that are crammed in SF with limited menus. I personally didn’t care for most of the items on their brunch menu that day(8÷2÷15). Their limited menu consisted of a breakfast burger, breakfast sandwich, pancakes, and some sort of scramble. I think egg benedict is a crucial part of any brunch menu so that was an automatic let down… As for the service, this place is kind of mediocre. I settled for ordering the breakfast sandwich but they told me I wouldn’t be able to have it with egg whites(instead of a fried egg) because«it would take too long»…seeing as there was nobody behind me in line, I thought this was ridiculous. I ended up ordering a plate of pancakes with berries instead. After my friends and I finished ordering, we barely found a table because this place is so small. The seating area is smaller than the actual kitchen and I didn’t see any of the workers bussing the dirty tables. When the food was served, it was mediocre at best. My paltry pancakes stack of pancakes came with a side of syrup, walnuts, and apples. It would have been nice if they had said the pancakes were going to be substituted with apples. The pancakes were ok but not worth $ 14. My friend’s side salad that came with her breakfast burger was decent– arugula dressed with a lemon vinaigrette. Overall, I ate here out of convenience and regretted it. I would try checking out some other places for brunch if you don’t mind waiting for a table.

Sweet Woodruff has been my friend’s reliable go-to spot for a bit and after finally stopping by for brunch with her, I can see why. The brunch burger is very satisfying and hits all the right notes. A juicy, well seasoned burger patty accentuated by perfectly melted cheese, a sweet and tart tomato jam, and a fried egg with a runny yoke. Sandwich all this between buttery bread and served with a simple arugula salad that works as a bitter and bright counterpoint to the rich burger. A seemingly classic brunch staple but executed so well. Not too much seating relative to the size of the big open kitchen which I assume they use to aid in some prep work for Son’s & Daughters. The guys behind the counter are really friendly and funny to boot. Instagram a pic to their account and you can get a PBR or mini-mimosa on the house. All in, brunch at Sweet Woodruff is really solid. Looking forward to trying dinner.
