I got some lovely earrings from a local designer at this store. The proprietress was very friendly and gave me some helpful tips on how to prevent my silver earrings from tarnishing.

Just a neighborhood boutique, with some cute things and mid-range prices. Most of the items aren’t really my style, especially the jewelry, which is mostly very petite and delicate-looking. The clothing doesn’t come in plus sizes, even though a few of the items are cute. The owner is a little over-aggressive at micro-managing your experience at her store… I prefer to be left alone while I shop, rather than have someone constantly talking to me and asking me personal questions. But I understand that this is her baby, and since this store has been in the neighborhood for a long time, I can only assume that there are countless others who are charmed by her hands-on approach to their shopping experience. I’m glad this store is here, and I think that the average Mission-dwelling, just-slightly-hipster 20-something girl would thoroughly enjoy what this unquestionably feminine and colorful shop has to offer. It’s not my style, but I can understand its appeal!

Was here a few times, during a couple of my visits to SF. A definite favourite store — cute, casual clothes. I picked up a jersey hoodie with an octopus print on it. Mostly or all locally produced. Jewellery is fun and unique, too. I’m hoping their site is updated soon, since it’s currently under construction. Would love to see what they have in stock now. Love that the owner’s dog is still around; it’s one of the ways that I could pinpoint this clothing boutique as being indeed the right store that I was searching for…

I just got an absolutely beautiful pair of earrings. The customer support here is fantastic, as well.

This store has a lot of cute clothes! I came away with a skirt on the sale rack and a slouchy burgundy sweater. I kind of wish they carried an XS of the sweater that I could have tried on, though. When I visited, the mirror was very dirty, though. I loved my purchases so it was okay in the end, but it detracted from the experience a bit.

Incredible jewelry selection!!! If you’re looking for reasonably priced, unique pieces, this is the place for you. I walked in their doors for the first time about a year ago and I’ve been back at least a dozen times since then. The owner has great taste, and I usually end up buying at least two things every time I go. I literally have to remove myself from the store before I’m tempted to buy everything in sight.

I adore this store. I stop once in a while on the weekends as it’s near my apt. The selection of gifts is great, and the owner is so cool in helping you find something special for a friend’s birthday, or whatever. She took a bunch of time with me to help me find something owl-themed for my pal — a gorgeous necklace. Great wrapping too, and reasonable prices. Thank you!

Seriously wonderful prices for clothing that is unique, well made and just a tiny bit different than most anything else you’ll see in the city. Jewelry, baby items, random little odds and ends… fun, fun store right off the main drag of Valencia Street.

This was my third or fourth visit to Ruby. Last year I bought a small cross body purple purse for my daughter that was the perfect size for a wallet and passport to take on her semester abroad. This time we were looking for a larger cross body purse for every day use at college and beyond. Also a wallet to replace her rapidly disintegrating one. It was after 6 pm on Saturday, and sadly, Ruby the pug had called it a day, and was no longer available for petting/admiring. However, the owner spent approximately 30 minutes with my daughter showing her purses, wallets and jewelry. Even though we made no purchases this visit, I could not have been happier with the service and experience, and will definitely return to shop for myself, my daughter, and special gifts for friends.

I came in here looking for something to accessorize my date outfit with and found just the thing – a cute little silver bracelet with a ruby on it. It is one of those deals where it slims out and then it just has a couple of links that hold the stone. Really pretty and I would totally have gotten it but my friend reminded me she had one just like it and would let me borrow it for my little date, so I saved the money instead. I would totally have gotten it otherwise. I love their accessories here. One of the many great Mission stores. Oh yeah and the pug they have here is just adorable. You want to stick him in your shopping bag and take him home too.

I walk into this tiny place and the first thing I see is a dress I love, some earrings that are super cute. And then a mostly-blind, mostly-deaf dog scuttles over to me to greet me. Already, this is my kinda place. The owner is so helpful and friendly. I described what I was looking for(a simple silver ring, not much ornamentation, but not too boring either) and after a few moments thinking it over, she brought me over to a jewellery case. And damn if she just happened to have the right thing I was looking for at a price I was comfortable with. Girl knows what’s in her shop and where it is. Nice. Plus, the shop is open until 7pm, so I can easily get there after work(huge bonus cos waiting for the weekend is for chumps).

Well. .. I walked in here to buy a birthday gift for a friend. And I found the perfect pair of delicate silver earrings in the shape of leaves to accommodate her more conservative sense of style. Of course, having a complete and utter lack of will power, I could not resist buying myself something — a delicate ring with a big moonstone. Which I subsequently scratched, but that’s my own damned fault. The woman working there was helpful and friendly, and I thought prices were pretty reasonable. Earrings were around $ 30 and ring was $ 48.

I(heart) Ruby. Several pieces of my wardrobe are from Ruby. They have great taste in what they stock. Sometimes a little rich for my blood – but don’t get me wrong, I think it’s totally worth it, I’m just a cheapskate due to the fact that I’ll be looking for work again in a month or so :( Come to Ruby for the cute resident pug of the same name, then stay for the jewelry, cute cards, candles, clothes, purses, baby clothes… I guess that’s about everything!

I got a very awesome wallet here that I get compliments on to this day. I think the accessories are really good. If I have babies to buy for, I will stop by. I have never been able to find clothes here. I go in very hopefully but they are just not my style — a little rough-hewn.

I’m all about accessories lately for myself and those who I am supposed to be a personal shopper for. Spending other people’s money? I’m doing my part to help the economy. I don’t even care that I don’t end up with anything in the end. So, I came in to this store and immediately saw earrings, bracelets and necklaces I thought could work. Unfortunately, I was jewelry-blocked because the one salesperson was helping someone else. Any other time, I might have been able to wait around but it was about 80 degrees in the store and I had to be somewhere. Also, I could tell from the conversation that the other customer was in no hurry to make a selection and get moving. Even though they prevented me from spending money, I give them 4 stars because the selection looked good and there was a cool pug that needed my affection. I’ll try again sometime.

Before I walk in here, I chant to myself, «I will only buy ONE item. I will only buy ONE item.» I must do this or else I’d purchase nearly everything in the store each time I came in. The clothes are beautiful and most are made in the U.S.A. The jewelry and other accessories are unique, made by local designers. The baby stuff is so adorable. Most recent purchase: Funkie Baby Go Mat with skull design. «Skulls for a baby?» you say. Well, it’s really colorful and cute, and not scary looking at all. The prices are surprisingly reasonable. You get great, quality items without feeling like you need to sacrifice eating out for a whole month. Laura, the owner, is so nice and strikes up a conversation with Steven and I each time we’re here. Ruby, the dog, is super cute and friendly. On our last visit, we played with her more than we shopped. Best part: Support local!

A block or so from my house, Ruby is an ideal spot for selecting a gift for one of your loved ones. Almost everything is locally made and hand-crafted. It’s the kind of place you walk into and feel the love. Their gift boxes are wire-handled to-go boxes, which you can wrap to perfection, and they also have cards. I recently got a vintage silverspoon bracelet with a magnet attachment made by a local artist as a gift for my wife. It’s super cute. And it’s cool to know that you’re supporting the local economy of artists.

I always ride my bike past Ruby on the way home from work and am usually distracted by their window display. I really like the clothing(baby and women’s) and jewelry they offer. However, every time I go into the store I feel very uncomfortable being there. Usually the owner is there chatting with the sales clerk in a way that makes me feel like I’m interrupting them by coming in to look around. Typically they ignore me and keep talking to each other. Sometimes other people they know stop by and they all start talking in a convivial way while still completely ignoring me. This would be okay except the store is tiny. I can only browse half of it since the other half is being blocked. Should I really have to ask«excuse me» to an employee that works there so that I can shop when they are just gabbing away? This is not a place where they make you feel welcome or appear even superficially happy to see you. It’s really too bad because I do like this store.
