We had a Beef & Potato pie and a Spinach & Feta cheese pie. They were hood. Warm and cheap. The beef and potato was hearty. The gentleman behind the counter was pleasant. They have free water, and a variety of drinks to choose from. I would very much like to come bash and try a sweet pie. This place makes me want to break my diet! …even more than I already have!

My brother and i took our cousin from switzerland as for a fun snack to eat. When you come inside, its not very big… few tables to your left… then when you walk toward the cashier, you get to see the small hand size pies. At first it didnt look very appetizing since the pies look very plain. Anyways, when you look at their menu, there are 3 options of pies: savory, vegetarian, and sweets. And they also have soups and salad as well. I decided to get the beef and potatoes pie which costs $ 3.65. Decent price for a small size pie. If you decide to dine in, they’ll warm your pie in the oven. Flavor inside of the pie was cool. But I felt that there was way more potatoes than the beef. I can finally unbookmark this place of my Unilocal list.

A nice place to stop if you are looking for a snack. The pies here are the perfect size to tide you over between meals. Or you could eat several all at once. I like both the savory and sweet pies.

Pies, pies, PIES! There are like 15 types of savory pies and 6 – 7 sweet pies. There are always a couple of seasonal flavors as well. I tried the pumpkin and sweet potato(what can I say, I like fall). Both were good, but the sweet potato was my favorite. It had a hint of ginger and that made it awesome. Definitely want to come back and try the savory pies.

Cute little shop! Came here for a snack while waiting to be seated at San Tung. You could make a meal of the pies but I would need 2. If you’re really hungry, maybe 3. We tried: –Beef and Potato: mmm… like a little pouch of comfort food. Almost like a thick beef stew. –Spinach and Feta: Good, but could use just a tad more flavor. Maybe a hint of garlic or some spices and it’d be perfect. The only con is that they heat them in a little toaster oven which gets the crust nice and crispy, but the very middle of the filling doesn’t get warm. I was at Whole Foods in Daly City and saw some in a display case near the coffee bar, which is nice if you live in that area and don’t want to come into the city.

This place is pretty good. I would say the chicken and potato pie is super delicious! Though I love spinach I felt the spinach and feta needed something. maybe more feta. Though it was delicious I think the pie should have been warmed up just a minute more and it would have been perfect.(I perfer the insides to be hotter than most) I think i’ll come by again and try some more pies. The lady at the counter is pretty nice, But that wouldnt stop me from giving a honest review on the food.

All savory pies $ 3.65, I’d say that price isn’t bad, in my comparison against certain food truck prices. Beef & Potato(4.5÷5): The employee there recommended this one. Nice and hot, little hint of spice, moderate amount of meat. Very tasty. I would also recommend Spinach & Feta(4⁄5): Also an employee recommendation, I highly advise you to eat this one hot, as the cheese must be melty for one to enjoy fully. Chicken & Potato(4⁄5): Tastes good, no spice like the Beef & Potato. I would definitely go again to try all of the pies and also the dessert choices!

I walk by this place every morning on my way to school and I finally decided to give it a try. Bought a box home of four pies to share with the family but, not going to lie, was pretty disappointed. Rating Breakdown: ½ Stars for Taste – I got the ham, egg, and cheese; spinach and feta; and two pear crumble pies. All I can say is… meh. The crust of the pie wasn’t great, it didn’t really contribute anything except a leak-proof barrier for my hand. The spinach and feta was really plain, no flavor at all. The pear crumble pies were too sweet and had no pear flavor. In fact, the whole experience was so forgettable that I can’t even recall the flavors on my tongue. This would usually warrant this place 0 stars in the taste category, but I’m giving it one with the benefit of the doubt that the pies would have tasted better if I had feasted on them immediately in the store instead of after a 1 hour commute home. 0⁄1 Stars for Value – These handheld pies are almost $ 4 each and they are TINY. You can definitely eat two by yourself, especially the dessert pies. If the pies were phenomenal, I would shut up and fork my money over, but they are mediocre pies that taste like something I could get at a gas station for $ 1.99. 1⁄1 Stars for Customer Service – The guy behind the counter was super helpful. He helped me choose four pies and even wrapped them individually before placing them in the box. No bonus star because this peasant is not going back to Peasant Pies.

This place is a great place for a snack! They have different types of savory pies from meat and poultry, vegetarian, or vegan. The pies are kind of like an empanadas! I think it’s much bigger than an empanadas! My personal favorite is the Beef and Potato Pie and the Spinach and Feta. Both so flavorful and delicious! If you like the crunch in your food, this is the place to get the perfect snack. I wouldn’t have known about this place if they didn’t serve it at the US Half Marathon a couple years back. They gave all the runners one of their pies to try after they completed the 13.1 half marathon. That was definitely a nice treat!

In the inner sunset and need a quick bite to eat? Look no further! Peasant Pies has a bunch of different savory and dessert mini pies that are made fresh daily. I had the ham, egg, and cheese pie. It was really good. I would definitely get it again. The crust was soft and crunchy at the same time and the filling was the perfect amount of each ingredient. The staff is really friendly too! Oh! Also, if you get a dessert pie, get a cup of coffee. It is just delightful, playas!

— 5 stars for the sausage, egg, and potato pie. There was more than enough sausage and just the right amont of egg and potatoes. Yummo! — 5 stars for the spinach and feta cheese. My daughter loves it so much, she always orders 2. — 5 stars for the rhubarb pie. Didn’t try it but my daughter says its«delicious». — 4 stars for the ham, egg, and cheese… please add potato in that one and I’ll give you and extra star. ***dough is dense and a little on the thick side… but you want it like that especially when you riding on muni so it won’t fall apart on you*** Please make a flaky dough for future… I will be coming back to try the others…

I stopped by here while waiting in line for San Tung to satiate my appetite with a small appetizer. My friend and I shared the spinach with feta cheese, and we thought that it was very savory and well balanced:(1) the pie crust was not too thick,(2) there was a good ratio of spinach to cheese. I can’t speak for the other pies, but I would go back for the spinach with feta cheese.

I love the concept. pies you can hold and eat on the go. pies you can pop in the oven to eat tomorrow. but the experience was… meh…the strawberry rhubarb was too tart… i’ve MADE better which is sad. i love rhubarb but the taste of it did not come through here. the tart tasted boring. the chicken and vegetable was dry and boring too! the pastry iteslf was dry and chewy. it did not taste buttery and flaky as pie should be. the meat and veggies were surely frozen. 4 bucks a pie seemed fine and cheap before… but in retrospect my nearly 10 dollar meal left me… going to starbucks for a sweet treat =(

When there’s a wait at San Tung how can you not wander into Peasant Pies next door? I’m a big fan of savory pies, but sweet ones, not so much. I picked up a sausage, egg and cheese breakfast pie to have the following morning. While I thought the flavor of the pie was pretty good, I felt let down by the crust. It really was more like a hot pocket than the flaky, buttery pie crust I was expecting. I believe all the pies are the same price(about $ 3.50), but the fruit pies looked a lot smaller. And why no chicken pot pie?

I just got back from a trip to Seattle and happened to notice that pie is a big deal there! I’m so sad that pie is not a mainstream dessert in the Bay Area. Pies can be so unique, so what’s not to love? Especially when the pies can be hand held and easy to eat such as at Peasant Pies. Peasant Pies might be one of the only places in SF/Bay Area that focuses primarily on pies, both savory and sweet. I decided to visit for the latter reason. I ordered the Pear Crumble Pie and the Strawberry Rhubarb Pie. The Pear Crumble tasted exactly like what you would expect from a pie. Rhubarb is an ingredient that not too many people are familiar with in the Bay Area. I honestly don’t know if it’s veggie or a fruit but regardless, it is a very flavorful ingredient to add to most baked goods. The pie was more like a fruit tart since it did not have a top or crumble on it, but was still worth getting. I can’t speak for the savory pies, but the sweet pies are definitely a good dessert for after a meal.

I was hungry and well… peasant pies seemed perfect for me because hey, I’m broke! This place is kinda opposite of «peasant» pies. The place is extremely clean with a somewhat«classy» atmosphere and it costs around $ 3-$ 4 for a pie the size of your palm(that is without the fingers.) I only brought one dessert pie as a snack, but if I wanted to get full I would need around 2 pies. I decided on the strawberry rhubarb pie and it pretty much tasted like a cookie with strawberry jam on it. The jam had a slight sour to it and the pie crust was okay. In my opinion, there wasn’t anything special about these pies but that might be my fault since I didn’t try any of the savory pies(which is very good according to the reviews).

Like the fatty that I am, I stopped in for some dessert while I waited for my table at San Tung. I probably would not have found this place if it weren’t for my sweet tooth. The pie itself was pretty good but it seemed a bit pricey for what it was. This place is a great place to grab a sweet or savory snack. The cashier was really nice enough to suggest the Blueberry and Vanilla Tart which was about 2.5″ in diameter which was decently delicious for around $ 4. I won’t drop in to exclusively eat here but I’ll be back next time to try a savory pie when I head to San Tung again.

To be honest, I wasn’t very impressed. I have had one of their chicken meat pies as well as two of their sweet pies. The meat pie I had was pretty tasty the first bite, but the taste was overwhelming after the next couple bites, not with good flavor but with salt and dryness. The sweet pies looked amazing. However, I tried the sweet potato and the blueberry. Both were very bland. Not sweet, dry, and there wasn’t much filling within the crust(which was very dry itself.) For both of them they had a weird film on top that looked gelatinous, I think it’s just to make it shiny but theres no flavor and it takes up space from the actual pie filling. Only good thing was the FRESH blueberries. crunchy and tart. that was great. Another thumbs up for VEGAN pies :) I might go back just to try those.
