Shady business practices!
Came in today to buy flowers and two HK milk teas. First of all the lady helping us super pushy. She was trying to up sell and deliberately overcharged us.
Double check your receipts and make sure you get exactly what you order!

Great cakes, very accommodating, and extremely friendly people there. Cakes can be designed specifically for your needs too so you don’t have to be just stuck with a plain cake.

Their cakes are amazing! It so good that I’m willing to just drive here to get birthday cakes even if i have to go through traffic and drive that 2 hr from sacramento but it is so worth it because the cake is really yummy and looks amazing. their cakes are moist with lots of fresh fruits and the quality of the cake is superb. the designs are amazing because their unique and not just about the looks!!! I’ve tried lots of asian bakery cakes but none as good as the ones here. Its not your typical asian fruit cake with the red writing its much more then that because the cakes are shaped in letters or numbers but still have that traditional chinese fruit cake feel and taste too it. This is place to go if you want a light and fresh cake filled with lots of fruits or just something sweet!

Wow… total fail! I called in a cake order the day before father’s day, and told them I was coming by at 9:30 am to pick it up. When I went to pick up my cake, they were not open! We waited an hour and no one had come by, and calling them went to voicemail. .. I ended up having to walk around to find another bakery to get a cake for father’s day. When we walked back, we saw they were open and I came in and she said they don’t open until the afternoon. If I was told that, I wouldn’t have order and just gone to my usual bakery! Never again. This place looks dingy and old and they keep old cakes in there to re-​sell. I would not recommend at all :(

I was looking for a birthday cake for my soon to be sister-​in-​law and wanted to make sure she liked it. I searched Unilocal for a few recommendations but ended up passing in front of J&J and decided I would check it out. The cakes looked gorgeous and were reasonably priced. They had a good variety and multiple sizes. They even put a birthday message on it for free. They also have a beautiful arrangement of flowers to look at which sadly I had already bought her a bouquet so I was all set. The cake ended up being delicious– had the strawberry cake which was full of strawberries, vanilla layers of cake and cream.

Great place for some HK Milk Tea and pastries. I snack here because it’s nice and quiet and they also sell fresh flowers so it always smells welcoming. Love coming in with friends after a early dinner to buy a small cake to share.

Great bakery ! $ 20 for an 8 inch mango cake? Can’t beat that ! The cake is scrumptious… it’s chiffon cake made with layers of mangos and fresh cream topped off with mangoes and strawberries. I’d come again and get some more!

Beautiful pastries that looked delicious & I was interested & had questions but was asked to leave by the lady behind the counter cos of my SERVICE animal. We felt insulted & they lost a customer which is a shame really considering I live by 4th & Judah. DISSAPOINTED on Wednesday 20 Nov 2013!

My mom and I love getting birthday cakes from J&J Bakery. They offer great variety of Asian-​style cakes, from mango, to taro, to chestnut, to chocolate and to a lighter version of Tiramisu, etc. I never had their chocolate cakes before, but I really like the mango, taro and tiramisu. The mango one was so fresh and fragrant and the taro one was different and flavorful. The tiramisu was filled with chocolate and coffee flavors but minus the guilt since it was pretty light.
I usually pre-​order, but they also have cakes in display for last minutes. I went to get a last minute cakes for mother’s day and was surprised that they still have many different ones decorated in the display for anyone who was last minute like me that day.
They also do flowers there. The lady who helped me with the cakes was showing me pictures of bouquet they did, and they all look pretty awesome!

I went here the other day because I was in the area and I wanted to pick up a pastry for breakfast the next day. I was surprised to find that it was pretty empty when I went in around 2 pm on Sunday afternoon. I ended up getting the ham and egg bun. The service was great since the girl behind the counter was nice and the bun ended up being less than $ 2. When I heated up the bun to eat for breakfast it was still very tasty and the egg and ham was a perfect combination in the morning. If I am in the area and I want an egg and ham bun I would come back here.

J & J has mostly cakes, pieces of cakes, pastries, buns on display
they all look deliz. unfortunately mine’s was not.
eats: lychee mousse conecake (section, 1.75)
–piece of lychee fruit mixed in with frosting cream on top.
–cream not sweet, not the usual whipped cream
–the base was pound cake or something like it. WTF?
–where’s the mousse?

–not my ideal of mousse
–cheerful, friendly, prompt service.
