Huge thank you to the staff for dealing with my picky boyfriend’s request to make another steak that was a little rarer on the«medium rare» spectrum. You did it right and we appreciated how kind you were about it, even offering a complimentary glass of wine for the inconvenience. That is above and beyond your call of duty, and did not go unnoticed! The filet mignon that I had was great, but not the best ever. We would come back again, but the prices are a little steep to justify steaks that aren’t to die for. The prosciutto motzarella appetizer is absolutely delicious, and so is the crème brûlée. Thanks for a fantastic date night! See you next time!

Ok, so i came here for dinner last night with my boyfriend. I had the lobster bisque… It was ok. My bf had the wedge salad. According to him, steakhouses are known for their wedge salads, and his was nothing special. I had the shrimp scampi as my main dish, it was good. He had the filet with peppercorn sauce on the side. He liked the filet bit the peppercorn sauce was terrible. For sides, the creamed spinach was blah. We also had jumbo asparagus which wouldve been really good if it wasnt for this balsamic glaze they put on it. I dont think ill be going back. Ill stick with osso steakhouse

I am lucky enough to be treated to Morton’s in San Diego for my birthday every year. The lamb chops with the mint sauce and the truffle butter shoestring fries. No words could possibly express what it means to me when those things are in my mouth. Pure joy maybe? Or foodgasm? I will say that I am sad that they changed the décor recently. They used to have pictures of customers from over the years all over the walls; it was very beautiful and unique. The smiling faces seated in Morton’s booths young and old added to the experience. Of course, it’s still a beautiful and classy place, but I was sad to walk in this year and see the plain walls. What really matters is the food and the top notch service, and that hasn’t changed a bit.

We got a reservation right away which was nice. The waiters were pleasant, but forgot to bring us bread and a sauce we requested. The asparagus was warm, bordering on cold. The steak was very good. Overall, I would have liked to have given this dining experience a 3.5.

First time at Morton’s…ever. This was part of the Wounded Warrior Project event that I had signed up for. Brought a friend that was a carnivore and the experience was amazing. We had the event downstairs where it’s all exclusive and had our own bar, tv, and just felt nice to be with veterans, my fellow comrades. There to meet new veterans, share stories, whatever! The waiters were on point with everything and was very attentive to us. We’ve already have a set menu to choose from, but they started out with appetizers of little lamp chops(a little dried in my opinion, YET it wasn’t gamey! so kudos on that!), then comes the seared scallops with an apricot marmalade(delish!), tuna tartare on a wonton crisp(droooooools), and some carb-a-licious bread. That was just the start! We were all just enjoying ourselves and the food, and the company. We all had a salad, I got casear salad — my fav — but I think the dressing had a little too much anchovies IMO, so I couldn’t really finish it. Most of us ordered the filet mignon(com’on, it’s Morton’s steakhouse!!) and it was absolutely PERFECT! You want medium rare, you’ll get medium rare — every single bite! It was paired with steamed asparagus and hollandaise sauce. Our sides was a baked potato. It was like a little buffet for that. Got the potato on a plate, the server comes and gives it a little mush and a little mash so it’s ready for all the toppings! The toppings were on the table and you just put whatever you want on there(the typical baked potato sprinkles). I cannot express how well they prepared my filet… every bite was mmmm mmmm MMMMMM! As for dessert, I got the berries and cream. I don’t know where they got them or what they did to it, but my strawberries were like infused with sweetness! I loved it and it was light and healthy… sort of. The cream didn’t help, but it was a cheat night! To end the night, I had some darjeeling tea with muddle mint leaves and honey. I muddle it myself, but it’s the best way to have darjeeling. Overall, great event with great people with a great restaurant. Would love to come back for more experiences. Bön a petit!

Five star price, one star services and food… This was possibly the worst steak I’ve ever eaten, mine came burn on outside and raw inside. My 3 other companion’s Chicago porterhouse, didn’t come out too appetizing either. Sometime during our meal around 8:30pm, on a Saturday night they started to strip the linens off the table then proceed to remove all the tables and chairs around us. Half of the dining room was completely bare afterward, we were sitting all by ourself in an half empty room. We almost expected them to bring out the vacuum cleaner… When asked if they were closing she said no and walked away.(Your operation hours are 2PM — 11PM, correct)? Stupidly we order dessert, New York cheesecake. It came out frozen in the middle, we would had complain if we were able to find our waitress. One of the worst dining experience ever, we felt like we were being punk!

The food was great! We got steak, creamed corn(to die for) and oysters! Had to take back the au gratin potatoes they were super cold! The waitress was very sweet and nice seemed extremely busy with a lot of tables! Great wine selection. Would’ve rather sat upstairs where the fun bar is!

I have been driving pass Morton’s so many times and always thought this is much more like a «tourist place» than a high end steakhouse. Well, my guess was right, we had dinner at Morton on a weekday night and our experience with this place was not so great. At first, the ambiance was always in such hurry as if someone will have to catch a next train! You are required to open a tab with a major credit card before they even give out a glass of water. Unbelievable but it is true. We had to wait for 30′ to meet our server(of course after the Maitre D’ took away my credit card) and ordered our first drinks. The dining area was not packed, but the bar area was. I don’t blame our server, just not enthusiastic about the service at all. We ordered some rib eyes, some chopped salad, and baked seafood plate. As a high end steakhouse in San Francisco, Morton failed to impress me! The food presentation itself was just horrible, it looked burnt(please take a look at my pictures). I have not seen any piece of steak that horrible before, even at more affordable restaurant like Texas Roadhouse. But it does tasted good, juicy and all. The baked seafood plate was salted and not fresh at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone. For the same price, do yourself a favor and go to Harris or Ruth Chris to have better service and so much better food, and of course, a relaxed ambiance of a high end restaurant because trust me, you and your friends are deserved it!

I ate at the bar. Bar staff were not welcoming in the least. The only oysters on offer were 1 type of East Coast. They were Ok. I had centre cut fillet 8oz and a glass of Chardonnay. Bill total was $ 110 without tip! If you want to pay these prices expect more!

It’s amazing how much the food and service as deteriorated since Lowry bought them. There I s a stupid cloud that hovers over the building. But I guess since we are paying for their insurance in the form of a surcharge and we all know they have to be tipped for stupidity. Well I guess we can’t expect much more can we? Yes we can as I’m not going to leave a tip for poor service and pay their insurance just because the sensitive people of San Francisco deem this to be a new and progressive! That’s bullshit!

The porterhouse &16oz lobster tail was succulent, amazing, & top notch. This is our 4th-5th time at Morton’s and this visit was not up to par in the least. Bravo to Oahu & Denver Mortons! However for $ 330 I expect you to answer your phone, not scold us for being 2 min past your deadline when you never answered the phone for the 10 min we called, please don’t give us chopped house salad when we requested chopped spinach, then if you do, don’t charge for the WRONG food, hostess– pretend you give a darn, server– not so plastic. When we left I wished the server Happy NY and he responded as if he never had seen me, didn’t just serve me for 2 hrs, & did not just get my tip. The food is great but possibly another location=better service! Happy New Year & to better service in 2016!!!

Came here 3 years ago and remember not having a good steak . Came here on Christmas Day and same experience I ordered the center rib eye It was really dry and stringy, needed gravy so I ordered the black truffle butter to pour on the steak, didn’t really help. not sure if we got usda CHOICE or SELECT :( The waiters told us the usda ribeye had more marbling and the fillet mignon was tougher :( It seriously didn’t taste like USDA prime I don’t know if their vendor is lying to them or if they are lying to the customer. But there is some definite lying going on over at Morton’s. Truffled cauliflower was burnt on top so it was bitter Steamed Asparagus was good Creamed spinach was good Mac and cheese was ok I probably won’t come back. Environment was nice and busy !! Servers were nice! Soufflé was good

This is a standard steakhouse located in Union Square that attracts a combination of locals and tourists. The ribeye and filet were cooked well and tasted delicious. However, the sides were pretty disappointing — the hash browns(which I had such high hopes for) were extremely buttery and didn’t have the crunchiness you’d expect from a well cooked hash brown. We had the same issue with the brussel sprouts — it just felt like they had stuck a full stick of butter PLUS bacon which seemed a little excessive. Additionally, the wines are extremely marked up, I know there is always a pretty healthy mark up at all restaurants but I think the mark up here is a lot more than most other places. I think you can gauge the markup based on the corkage fee, which was $ 29 at this restaurant. After taking a look through the wine list, which has a great selection and is very extensive, we couldn’t justify the prices they were charging and we ended up accepting the $ 29 corkage and opening up one of our own bottles. While the main course was good, I’m giving three stars because there are a lot of other steakhouses in SF that offer good steaks, sides, and more affordable drink options.

I can’t really write a review because we didn’t get the opportunity to eat there, but… Morton’s apparently has a new policy that requires the wait person to take a credit card at time of ordering. They can run the card and give it back or they will hold the card until you are done with your meal. This is suppose to be required of all patrons, before you eat or drink. Maybe because it’s Halloween, maybe our 1920’s gangster, flapper costume made us look like a risk, I can’t say. But… if you are going to set a policy then it should be set for everyone right? There’s nothing on the menu that we couldn’t afford, costume or not. The couple next to us were not required to leave a card. The policy didn’t make sense nor were they being consistent with their customers. Since when do you start a tab for dinner and they wanted the card, period. No menu and no cocktail before the card. We didn’t stay, it was the principal for us. To bad for both side’s.

My girlfriend brought me here for a surprise birthday dinner and I loved it. Morton’s has an ambient lighting set mood and represents a place to go for fine dinning. Our waiter provided very good customer service, he even politely let us know that we may be ordering way more than we can eat(which was true) and suggested what to keep on the order. My girlfriend ordered the porterhouse and said it was the best steak ever. I am a rib-eye lover so I ordered the Chicago style bone in rib-eye, it was the best rib-eye I have ever had! Still having dreams about it. Their bacon macaroni and cheese is also a must. If you plan on celebrating a birthday here I recommend it. They print a personalized happy birthday greeting on your menu and take your picture and put it in a birthday card for you.

This is the one. Don’t be seduced by trendy steakhouses and their new age frou-frou. Come here. With all these new pretentious«steakhouses» opening throughout San Francisco, it’s nice to know that places such as Morton’s continues to uphold its sophisticated, classy charm. Morton’s is tastefully decorated and provides dark mood lighting for couples and sexy meals alike. If you’re lucky enough to score a luxurious, faux alligator booth you’ll be in utter bliss. Ultimate destination for anniversaries, dates you’d like to impress and doin’ big thangs. From start to finish the service was beyond excellent. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. The fiancé brought an expensive bottle of wine and we slowly enjoyed one of the best steak meals of our lives. Fiancé had the choice prime bone-in ribeye. It was 22 ounces and he was unable to finish it. He ordered it with the bourbon sauce. It was grilled to perfection, not salty and tasted like premium quality beef. I ordered the combo which included a filet mignon, three grilled jumbo prawns and two bacon wrapped scallops. I love seafood. I’m the Queen home chef of seared scallops. These were just as good as mine if not slightly better. Wouldn’t have it any other way. The filet and shrimp were also grilled to perfection and accompanied by crispy asparagus spears. Without a doubt I would order this again. Nice sampler. Fiancé and I also ordered the creamed spinach and horseradish mashed potatoes as our sides. We both agreed that the creamed spinach was a terrific pairing and served pipping hot. Same with the horseradish mash — however, the horseradish was robust. If you don’t Iike horseradish don’t order these mashers. Even though we couldn’t finish our dinner, we still ordered two desserts. BOMB! The hot chocolate cake and key lime pie were delectable. The presentation was beautiful. We never felt uncomfortable or rushed. The entire evening was magical. There’s nothing like devouring Morton’s with the one you love on a special occasion. Pro tip: If you’re not a meat eater but still want to experience Morton’s lustrous vibe, hang at the elegant bar on a late night. Exquisite specialty drinks, décor and small bites.

After 12 years of marriage and 15 years of being together, one can only imagine my excitement when hubby said we’re going on a DATENIGHT!!! Come again? I mean a real DATENIGHT without our son. His idea of date night usually means our son tags along, since he travels so much. Hello? Who’s always with our son when he travels year-round, ME! I totally understand when he wants our son to come on every date night, because he misses him. This time it was just hubby and I, just the two of us. We started out at the bar, then we were seated in the biggest booth for two. I don’t remember the last time we sat at a booth together, but at Lori’s Diner. You bet I ordered the largest steak and went all out with the sides. I should have ordered two jumbo crab cakes(really didn’t want to share). Then I saved room for dessert, and boxed the rest to go. I also brought a bottle of our favorite wine. Hubby always believes it cheaper to clothe me than to feed me — you betcha! He really spoiled me by sending me off the following week to Florida to visit my auntie in Miami, or did he want me to go for his sanity? He made it seem like an early Mother’s Day present… things that make you go hmmm? It’s also his way of saying«no Hawaii this year» — only one vacation per year. Overall, it was the best DATENIGHT ever with my best friend/soulmate, and the service was stellar. I saw a couple next to us, and they’ve been together for half a century. Morton’s took a picture of them and printed it out as a souvenir. It was the sweetest Kodak moment ever, and I thought that will be us in a few decades. We tried to walk off dinner by cutting through Union Square Park just to go inside Macy’s to have more dessert LOL. What can I say, love makes you PHAT& happy: D

4÷4÷15 Dinner We were here for my partner’s birthday. They were ready for our 7pm reservation, with a table thoughtfully decorated with these little cut-outs of «Happy Birthday.» Every member of the staff from hostess to server greeted him Happy Birthday. Morton’s décor is contemporary, like a restaurant you’ll expect at a W Hotel. But the music is just too loud and up-beat for a steakhouse. Conversation can be difficult as the restaurant is filling up. The highlight of the menu is steak, but they offer a variety of fish, poultry, and pasta entrees. All the main courses are a la carte, and you have the option of an array of sides for $ 13 each, including mash potatoes, onion rings, sauteed Brussels sprouts. *Cocktails are tasty, but also the most expensive I have in town. Moscow Mule for $ 11.75 and Cosmopolitan($ 15.75) with premium Goose vodka. *French Fries($ 13) a huge bouquet of slim-cut pomme frites that is enough for 4. I’m glad we didn’t order any other appetizers. *Sauteed Brussels sprouts($ 13) good and tasty, perfect for sharing. I suggest one side for two people because the portion here is huge. *Filet Mignon(6 oz, $ 45) is somewhat disappointing. The cut is very tender, cooked to a perfect pink center; but it is very salty and over-seasoned. I have to say Harris’ and Ruth Chris have much better filet mignon than what I had here that night. *Filet Mignon Combo(6 oz, $ 50) is a great value if you like seafood along with steak. Prawns have that crispness when you take a bite. Scallops are seared and then wrapped with bacon. Filet mignon is also very salty. What happened in the kitchen? Overall I like everything at Morton *except* for the steak on that evening. Kitchen must have had a bad night?! Service was close to being impeccable. Water glasses never went empty and the food was served in perfect timing. Another gripe was the tightness of space. Since we were seated at a small table against the wall, we barely had enough room to accommodate the steak, the fries, the Brussels sprouts and cocktails. I’m not so thrilled with my steak here.

Ich suche mir lieber was anderes.

Steak & Seafood for two for 99US-$).
