We hestitated for months about buying a table from Urban Hardwoods. It was hard to wrap my head around spending so much on a table. However, I am 100% glad that we finally took the plunge during one of their sales. We get so many compliments on our table. It really is the show-piece of our whole house. Nick was very nice and accommodating. No sales pressure at all. Urban Hardwoods stands behind their products and they are very proud of their work. .. for good reason!

I happy to stroll by Sunday Morning and saw this set up. Is it a furniture? Is it a gallery? I like the fact that its hard to tell! Service staff was very friendly and one of the artists was inside the store. Beauiful set up. I have some pics:

Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Totally. The pieces here are one of a kind and absolutely beautiful, and Nick is both knowledgeable and personable.

The show room is amazing and the sales person Matt was extremely helpful. I wasn’t even in the market for any furniture and he still treated us well… If the boss is reading this Matt deserves a raise!!!

Beautiful pieces here. The showroom is a must visit even if you aren’t in the market. I had a great experience getting a bench down to the SF store from Seattle. The folks are as nice as the furniture. While the prices might look out of reach at first, there seems to be an occasional piece that is on the less expensive side. Just keep your eyes on the site.

I salivated over the tables on the website for months and finally bit the bullet just after Christmas to take advantage of the twice-a-year sale they have. I am in LOVE with my black walnut table. Every table is unique and has its own story. This is not your run of the mill furniture. It’s organic and honest and beautiful stuff. The staff is knowledgeable and patient. I never felt any pressure to buy anything. In fact, Nick told me NOT to buy anything unless it really spoke to me. I appreciated that. All in all, I am super pleased with my purchase. It was not a small purchase, but I expect to get years and years of pleasure looking at my gorgeous table.

If you’re into great wood like I am, you’ve got to at least visit this place. The wood used to make the tables is either naturally fallen wood, trees that cut down for reasons other than lumber, and simply used wooden furniture. They call it «urban tree salvage.» Just go by and visit to see some amazing furniture. Keep in mind that the legs on the tables are mostly just for the showroom. You can mix & match the legs onto anything, and I’m certain that they would be happy to put on legs that you buy yourself. If this store impresses you, then call first and make a pilgrimage to the Seattle warehouse and workshop. I stopped by the Seattle store once when and ended up talking with Jim, the owner, for over an hour. He gave us a quick peek into the storage where the slices of trees are left to dry for years. When I went by the San Francisco store yesterday, Jim happened to be in town. He remembered me and chatted for another hour. If you’ve read this far, then at least click to view the photos on the website and read the story of the tables.
