I visited this gallery several times and recently came across an unusual artist from Italy, Saturno Butto. For BDSM, fetishists, individuals into alternative lifestyles, Mr. Butto manages to exhibit his work in a dark, dungeonesque way yet does so in with aplomb and class. There is great texture, depth and a very matter-of-fact look and feel to his work. Mishin Fine Arts as a gallery has great acoustics and a light, airy feel to it. The curator, Ms. Larisa Mishna is an absolute joy to work with! If you’re seeking fabulous and unusual works of art, accompanied by interesting and educational events, I highly recommend you stop by and see what Mishin Fine Arts has to offer.

Mishin Fine Arts, a gallery focusing on Russian artists, hosted a reception on August 20th for Yuri Shiller’s show«Infinite Impromptu.» My pictures are from that event. Mr. Shiller’s paintings are very good, so go in before the show is taken down. Some of his pieces are transferred onto fabric(as opposed to canvas). The look is intense… its velvet sheen draws you in. The reception involved a photo shoot with a number of models, where some of the wardrobe was being made and fitted on the spot. SLR’s, Video, and iPhones captured it all. Picky Studios, his fashion company, has a current clothing line involving lots of colorful prints much like his art. So it’s like people are wearing one of his paintings.
Go see the work up close. It is definitely worth your time.
