I keep going back, but I haven’t had a decent sandwich from these guys in months… It conveniently located near my office, but I am officially not going there again.

I used to love going to this place. After today I don’t think so. We ordered breakfast which took forever. We waited for over 30 minutes until I asked about our food. Well they did not even started making it. Plus my dish two eggs with either bacon or sausages, well they have no meat but still charged me with the meat price. Really. I was very disappointed and sad. The only one positive thing was that I got refunded back.

Food here is bad! We came because of a groupon deal. We left because the food was not even worth a groupon price! We order eggs Benedict and got hard boiled eggs over muffins. Asked for new eggs got raw undercooked eggs.(Both plates!). Tried eating the rest of what we had there was almost a quarter of an egg shell in the ham/muffin. All I can say is STAYAWAY!

This place is great! It’s small, but their coffee was delicious! I also had a blueberry muffin and almond croissant which were especially delicious. Rich and decadent! I didn’t try their entrees, but if they are like their pastries, this place rocks!

Parking is insane in this neighborhood. Although there were a lot of «free» spaces by the sidewalk, they were either loading or no-parking zones. Yikes. It takes a very long time to make one mocha, but it is very good. There are many tables for you to park your laptop or, even better, hang with your friends.

food is awesome… if they have the ingredients. their service is ridiculously slow(one time, a group of 3 of us had lunch, it wasn’t particularly busy. i got my food but the other two waited more than 20 mins after i got mine…) they never have anything i want. they’re always out of something

I ordered the ham Benedict. The eggs were hard boiled and not poached. I brought it to the servers attention and it took 30 minutes for her to bring out two poached eggs in a bowl of water. It then took another 10 minutes to bring out the wrong hollandaise sauce. By this time my English muffin, onions, tomato etc. was cold. And nothing was said, by the wait staff or management. Avoid this place at all cost.

Unfortunately they’ve slipped a lot. The food is real good when it can actually be made. They take a long time: 3 of us were the only orders there. Took more than 20 minutes to make 2 egg dishes and the 3rd plate was never completed before we had to leave for work reasons. Furthermore the orders were missing the potatoes. This is the 3rd time I’ve experienced a long unexplained delay with food or with incomplete orders. The staff doesn’t seem really equipped to handle these issues with refunds or price adjustments unless you ask. When everything is running well the food and experience are great. There seems to have been a change with staff and perhaps ownership. Not sure if I’ll go back.

I love this place the service is great. The location is great. The food and coffee is great. Well…even tho this is a café I’d say its the food that you should definitely come for . The pizza sounds ordinary but it sure isn’t . The mac n cheese balls were soo good I was like omg holy moly this is heavenly. The burgers are sooooo good too. The food here makes your mouth really happy. The mimosas are hella good. I like that they have happy hour. They close at 7 so definitely make this your daytime party spot. The place is very very clean. They have tons of TV’s . The crowd and service is very excellent. I will be back here again and again and again and again. The place is great.

Okay I have to admit to all of you, I am a brunch fanatic. There’s something about satisfying comfort food(especially on Sunday mornings) that gets me excited. And when you add an adult alcoholic beverage; in this case, mimosas, then you have the complete experience. In this case, I’m focusing on the«Gaslamp Café» located in the SOMA neighborhood of San Francisco. I had come here on the morning of Sunday October 18th, 2015 with my fiancée, our friend, and his wife. And what really drew our attention was the Groupon special that they were offering. This special consisted of any two breakfast entrees with two mimosas for only $ 25.00. Considering this is IN San Francisco where food prices can be super-inflated compared to other cities, this in my opinion was a great deal. «Gaslamp Café» is situated on the corner of Howard and 12th St’s in a quieter part of town. Luckily we were able to find a parking spot across the street from the restaurant as there wasn’t as many businesses as other parts of SOMA and the Mission District. When we entered the restaurant(which was around 10:45am), it was completely empty! This kind of worried me as nobody else was taking advantage of Sunday brunch; especially in a popular city like San Francisco. The interior of this place was rather small but large enough to fill quite a few parties. One nice touch was that there was an abundance of large windows to allow a lot of natural light into the restaurant. The décor had antique styled lampposts as well as recycled wood beams to hold some of the signage from the ceiling. Additionally, the higher than normal ceilings provided a much more open air feel which added to the square footage. As I was already narrowing down what to order on the car ride here(don’t worry, I wasn’t driving), I finally settled on the«Ham Benedict». This consisted of thick-cut ham, roasted tomatillos, sautéed onions, jalapeño Hollandaise sauce, and a side of house potatoes. My lady ordered their«2 Eggs(over easy) entrée». This included their herb roasted potatoes and two thick cut slices of bacon. And best of all, each of us also got two mimosas with this order. She had also ordered a creamy vanilla latte to complete her order. Do keep in mind that you actually have to walk up to the register to order your meals. I also had to bring up the Groupon deal which wasn’t a problem at all. When our meals arrived, I was literally shocked to see how quickly they both came out; everything was piping hot and on our tables in less than 7 minutes! The only downside is that they forgot to give us our mimosas. No big deal but I did have to let him know after our entrees were on our table. As far as the portions at «Gaslamp Café», they are HUGE! They definitely don’t skimp on anything as you get your money’s worth. The Benedict was above average and made well. I enjoyed the smokiness of the ham while the jalapeño Hollandaise sauce had the perfect consistency which a little spiciness to it. My roasted potatoes were seasoned very well as the texture was spot on. Overall, this was a very satisfying meal that kept me full well into the afternoon. And there are so many other things that«Gaslamp Café» offers on their menu besides breakfast. They have a respectable variety of sandwiches, salads, soups, and burgers. They also offer a Happy Hour menu(every Mon-Sat from 3−7pm) which includes small appetizers, beer, and wine. And finally, there is a nice small espresso bar that brews coffee and espresso drinks. And even a nice tea selection. So if you’re looking for something that is decent, well-priced, and generous portions, I suggest giving«Gaslamp Café» a try!

Love this place, try to sneak it in whenever possible. Staff is friendly and helpful, food is very good, and the coffee is better. Well priced, and has free wifi and good prices for HH beer! Definitely want to come back for a Taco Tuesday afternoon to try that out as well. There’s not too much in this area to get excited about, so this place is a nice addition. Sidenote: Bathroom sometimes does not have TP stocked, so check in advance! Not so much an issue for the gents, but have noticed.

This place has gone downhill! I ordered the meat lovers breakfast and got nothing like what it said on the menu. Staff did not care about cleanliness or service. Sad because the food is good but the rest sucks!

$ 8.50 for a poor quality breakfast sandwich(pic included) and a forced pre service tip for food prepared at a counter. The wait was 15mins+ Thus the rating.

Flaming out. Still burns bright: Not so much: Really wanted to love Gaslamp. Staff was nice. Space with the open windows is relaxing and enjoyable. Free WiFi. Really good chicken sandwiches with roasted red peppers. But everything else was disappointing. Disappointed my Americano was bitter and bland and my egg whites, spinach and tomato omelette was oily and $ 10 considering two small slices of toast were the only side. Disappointed there were no sugar free syrups but understand. But really disappointed ketchup and jam was just available in packets. Wasteful and full of high fructose corn syrup. Lastly was disappointed there wasn’t more staff to keep the tables clean, the bathrooms stocked with towels and the napkin container full. Felt less than polished and less than clean. Rare to find so much disappointment with the food and the experience. Rare to give two stars.

This all-day café in SoMa is brightly lit, easy to find, and friendly enough to make it an easy hang out place. We were there for breakfast, and their poached eggs, common in several of their dishes, we’re perfectly prepared, but the mushroom holandaise was a little heavy, and the potatoes were overly spicy and inconsistent in texture. They do have a good selection of beer on tap and a happyhour that could change any mood. So, this could be the place if you work or live nearby.

Got into my diet frame of mind and picked up the house salad and bowl of mushroom soup! The house salad was generous and the mushroom soup was as amazing as the tomato soup!

While needing a break from the ridiculous Pride Parade traffic upon entering the city, we parked in a parking garage and walked over to Gaslamp Café for a bite to eat. The area is not too close from the center of the parade, yet still crowds of awesomely bright and glittering costumes and fishnet-stocking clad folks having a good time coming to and from the parade were walking around. We sauntered up to the counter to place our order. Because of the parade-goers, they were actually sold out of a couple things, their menu is not huge, but luckily we were able to find a couple things. We ordered Huevos with veggie chili, avocado and crema with baked tortialla chips. Very tasty, spicy, but with robust flavors. My hubby got the scrambled eggs, toast, French fries and salad plate. Basic, but he said good. Inside is rustic, modern, open and bright, wooden tables and a blackboard wall with beers available written in chalk of many colors. Order of food, iced teas, a soda and an extra dude of fries was $ 28 and change, pretty decently priced.

This is not the most aesthetically pleasing café I’ve ever been to, but it has all the other components of a good one… plenty of seating, some electrical outlets, and free WiFi. They serve Blue Bottle coffee here, but my friend and I came during Happy Hour, so we could not resist ordering beer. There are limited beers on tap, so most of their beer selection comes in bottles, which is okay I guess. Their Happy Hour is Monday through Saturday from 3pm to 7pm. That’s pretty good! There are $ 6 plates, $ 10 pizzas, $ 5 wines, and $ 3 beers. We ordered the Shishito Peppers which are grilled and seasoned and come with a dipping sauce and grilled lemon. Was not a huge fan of these(the ones we make at home are better) because they were dripping with grease and are messy finger foods, especially since we were there to get some work done. At any rate, this café is alright and I would come back again just because it was not crowded and has a relatively large food & beverage menu. Good reliable place!

I agree with many of the others — good food, meh service. I’ve only come here around breakfast /brunch times on weekends since it’s a short walk from my boyfriend’s apartment. I like the soup(which was especially good since I was sick during one visit) and the eggs and the pastries — all good. Plus, they serve Blue Bottle coffee which is fab. Some things seem a bit pricey, but I guess it all depends on what you order. The staff could be a bit friendlier though and more reliable. They get my order wrong or missed an item sometimes. I’ve never been here during Happy Hour or evenings though, so perhaps the service is better then.

I should’ve gotten something different. If you have been following my recent reviews, I have mentioned multiple times that I am on this egg craze. I walked into this amazing place hoping for an amazing omelette that will blow my socks off. But sadly this omelette didn’t cut it for me. I had the Meat Lovers Omelette that also came with a side of potatoes(or salad) and toast. The food took quite a while to come and everything came a little overcooked for my liking. The toast was almost rock solid. The potatoes were tiny but so crunchy that it tasted almost like a chip(the rest of my party enjoyed it though). And the star itself: the omelette was very thick and dry. I paid $ 2 more for about 8 cubes of avocado, but the omelette was full of bacon and sausage though! Definitely meant for a meat lover. The environment is spacious and good for groups. We sat near the window where the sun was beaming in and it actually got way too hot for me to handle. There is also outside seating which I am a huge fan of. The service is great! They were really kind and understanding. I am a tad disappointed by my omelette… but I will have to admit that the service, environment and the deliciousness of my company’s food will definitely bring me back for a second try
