Great little hole in the wall bar by my buddy’s new digs. Friendly staff and great beer selection plus a jukebox! Will be back!

Me: «Pssss, look at 12 o’clock on the couch.» Friend: «Hmmm, not bad.» Me: «Look at those big hazel eyes, that teddy bear face, that smile, and those curls.» Friend: «Curls? Gurl, you drunk already?! That guy has spiky hair!» Me: «Not him… I’m talking about his adorably cute labradoodle!» Yah, so I love dogs more than hoomans, and if you do too, Fireside Bar is the bar for you! Cute hoomans? Pshhh. Cute dogs for the win! OTHERNOTES: *Stating the obvious but lots of dogs and dog lovers at Fireside Bar. Tater Tot received lots of love here. One turnt up guy laid on the ground outside to cuddle/play with him. *Friendly staff. The older gentleman in his 70s kept asking if I was going to return. I told him, «Of course, Tater Tot and I will return. He replied, «I hope it’s to see me.» Cute. Lol! *Cheap drinks. Cc’s accepted. *They don’t serve food but you can bring outside food in. *Non-pretentious, mixed crowd. Saw a handful of couples PDAing in the two top on a Saturday night. One lady was kissing her dude all over his neck. Awkward. *Homey meets dive bar vibe with center fireplace. *Internet juke box. Cc’s accepted. *One negative: it’s super loud when it’s crowded and the music is bumping. Not good for furbabies since they have sensitive hearing. Best to bring your furbaby on the weekdays or early on the weekends. *Restrooms are decently clean.

Great, cozy, warm, inviting but cash only. Good place for chatting with friends around the fire(yes there is really a fire place). The bartenders are friendly and attentive. Definitely a great place to spend slower, intimate bar evenings as opposed to wasted, slap happy disco night club evenings.

Nice bar. Good if you are in a small group since there are a few tables. Can get pretty packed, which can make sitting tricky. Wish there were single tables. Not a good place to hold a big event. There’s not much of a central area for people to gather unless everyone knows each other well. Good ginger ale. Most bars’ tap ginger ale tastes flat, but this place’s tastes fresh.

This is the place you drink with locals in Inner Sunset and get to know your local bartender. They play great alternative music, practically a Red Hot Chili Peppers radio. When was the last time you heard a bar play songs from the By the Way album? If that isn’t your thing, there’s always a jukebox And if there’s no couple that decides to have a 3 hour date here, you might have a chance to sit by the fire Otherwise the decorations are up so you can also sit by the christmas tree while drinking some Chimay

Most comfortable bar I’ve been to in a looong time. In town with my wifey, met up with an old friend(who bartends elsewhere!) to catch up and spent a few hours getting to know a great bunch of locals that were all super friendly. We are die hard Dodger fans and were totally welcomed into this Giants bar! Lagunitas on tap made it all the better. Was blown away with my check at the end of the night in the best way. Ubered our way back to Japan town feeling great. Will never go through SF without stopping by here for a drink. Thanks for the good time :)

Hidden(and dog-friendly) gem in the Inner Sunset! + Drinks are stiff and bartenders are not in the mood to banter. + Three TVs plus one big projector showing football games. +A mean hot toddy in the winter. + Jukebox for when you want to dance somewhere dark and cozy on a weekday night + No judgement regardless of clothing, dog companion, or beverage choice

Dive-in neighborhood bar to grab affordable drink & watch a game. Bar definitely needs some«facelift». Good news for dog lovers– dogs are allowed inside. Would not recommend this place for a date, may be only for those who met on Tinder :) Take your girl to the upscale place«InnerFog» just down the street.

Great space if you want to relax and have a beer, not much activity going on and music is usually decent on volume. Option to play own songs on juke box. Bartenders are attentive most of the time and the prices are not only fair but they are affordable.

Gotta give it to Irving street for having all these cozy ass bars. Four stars because the long island I ordered was STRONG and finally a bar that doesn’t blast music so loud that I can’t hear myself think.

Extremely romantic setting extremely dim lit, dog friendly, and a really cool Internet juke box. Great prices for drinks and the house wine is better than most. A great bar to bring a date.

Sometimes people hire 21 year olds, and 21 year olds hide in the break room, when ex boyfriends show up. So don’t hire 21 year olds.

I have a little crush on Irving Street. It’s not just the plethora of well-priced eating and drinking establishments but the whole package that comes with it: it feels like a real community of normal working people going about their lives, consuming food and knocking back a few. In fact, it feels like the opposite of where the young tech community goes to spend their riches and I mean that in the best way possible. Last time I drank on Irving I learned that the Blackthorn allows dogs in before 7 p.m. It was after 7 p.m. and my dog needed a drink so I sidled up to inquire whether she could come in and sit on the back patio. Rules are rules though so the answer was no, prompting my next question: Do you know anyplace that does allow dogs? Enter Fireside Bar where dogs are welcome though not atop the bar or tables. Fireside is less of a packed scene than Blackthorn. It’s smaller and a bit trashier. There is a fireplace but I can’t say it was the centerpiece of the place. That title seemed to be reserved for the big screen displaying the Warriors playoff game 3 and several smaller screens displaying the same. If you watched the game you know that it was one for the ages and it may have contributed to the good feeling I left the Fireside with. Or that good feeling might’ve been a result of all the nice regulars I met as a result of having my dog with me. Then again, perhaps it was the fact that the folks beside me introduced themselves to me, not my dog, and we wound up having a really nice conversation. All of this and then it was time to go. The tab for 1 Guinness, 1 Sierra Nevada, and 2 vodka cocktails was $ 17. $ 17, that was not a typo. Now you know all you really need to know about Fireside Bar.

Very chill neighborhood bar. Came here on a Wed night and sat at the bar with a couple of buddies drinking Black Butte Porter. It was a good time.

Totally decent place with a cool lounge environment. Beware of the jukebox a holes, some guy was playing Hard Metal and totally ruining the vibe. Drinks aren’t to expensive and it was easy to find seats.

Let me set the scene… We ordered mediocre wine and were perfectly content hanging out for the night. Although we were perfectly quiet and pleasant, the bartender was the rudest human being I have ever met in my wine buzzed life. Let me rephrase… a horrifically rude bartender. I am a inner sunset local and have NEVER been treated so rudely in my entire life. My group was so genuinely shocked that we went back in at the end of the night to say something to the bartender. He flipped my boyfriend off! Lol. Guess my insanely generous tip was offensive to him? Being a frequent visitor to inner sunset restaurants and bars, I just couldn’t believe how insanely awful this bartender was! Looking back, maybe we weren’t hipster enough??? The only regret I have about the whole night(besides paying him at all…) was that I didn’t insist on making the bartender call the owner so we could address the issue with him present. I hate writing negative reviews but this was just too ridiculous not to write a review. It’s my duty to warm you before you enter this place… be prepared for an awful experience!

He took away my virginity. My bar virginity that is. His name was Fireside bar. My Unilocal friend, Ben T., and our other friend, Kevin S. KIDNAPPED me from my kitchen as I was cooking Bak Choy!(yeaaaa, I tend to be kidnapped a lot by my friends… x. x) It was literally my first time at an actual bar! Yes, I am a noob and I just turned 21. Dont judge me. Being that it was my first time, this bar was very welcoming and cozy. I felt like it was just a chill night at home with friends sippin on drinks made by a friendly and talented bartender. It was very classy yet homey and relaxing all at the same time. Keeping in mind that I’m freshly 21, my tolerance for alcohol is low, so i needed a drink that was super fruity and tasted nothing like alcohol. I got exactly that here!(no idea what they were sorry. but I have pictures) Both were super tasty and non-alcohol like. Just the way I enjoy my drinks. I know I know. Dishonor on my family, dishonor on my ancestors, dishonor on my cow… I’m a wuss. X[ Heard it all… *sigh* Anyways… I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this bar and the drinks here. The environment was perfect for a chill night with friends! Street parking was easy too on a Monday night!

Cozy. Straightforward. Come as you are. This local bar has comfortable seating that’s perfect for group of friends or a date. Added PERK: being able to bring in your own food or have it delivered, plus affordable pitchers of beer, and right off the N line or 14 bus stop!
