I think this is now called«Dona Mago’s» — I don’t know if the ownership changed, but the menu looks pretty similar. Nice place! They now have some big-screen TVs and it seems bigger than it used to be. Good food still, at reasonable prices. Cash only, I think.

Good heavens. I am eternally grateful to the BF’s coworker who recommended this place. GETTHECHILLAQUILESCONPOLLO. Gooey, crispy, tender. Huge portions, so share if you’re a lightweight. Also, the«hot chocolate drink»(I hate that I don’t remember the name.) would be perfect on a chilly day. I didn’t have any problems with being a non-native Spanish speaker, the waitress was kind enough and though the service wasn’t SUPPPER attentive, I got what I wanted– delicious and, what I believe to be authentic, food.

It’s decent Mexican food at a price that competes with fast food, but it’s really not that great otherwise. The worst part is the absolute inability of their staff to speak English. They will say«yeah» and«uh-huh» to give the impression that they are following your order, but any questions will confuse them completely. Just because it is «authentic Mexican food» doesn’t mean it should only cater to Spanish-speakers as well. I’ve been here twice and the food was adequate both times, but I’d rather go somewhere with service that is a bit more accommodating. Both their bottled and canned cokes are better than you’ll find in most other places, though.

I just came here for lunch and my experience was great. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was absolutely perfect. It was as if they read my mind in what a perfect sandwich should be! Mexican cheese, chicken, avocado, tomato… AMAZING! T The place itself is nothing fancy, but I was here the food and it was more than satisfying. To add on top of that, it was less than $ 6-WOW. They don’t speak English very well, but that didn’t stop them from being kind, courteous, and helpful — another big positive.

This place rocks(also called Dona Mago’s.) Best authentic Mexican breakfast ever. They’re nopales omelet is delicious. The nopales is brined/pickled to perfection, sauted in scrambled eggs, with 3 big homemade handmade tortillas, beans, rice, a small salad, crema, tortilla chips, and their house chile sauce, which if you arrive early enough for breakfast, is still warm just out of the pot. Don’t feel intimidated at all about the location or if you don’t speak English. The gentleman greets everyone just the same, as sweet and polite and accommodating as can be. I ordered that breakfast and a cup of coffee with a refill for $ 6.50. I’ve picked things up from here, but dined in the restaurant for the first time on Saturday morning. Quite a mix of people — family of 5, gay couple, guy catching the soccer game, fellows grabbing breakfast before their long Saturday work day begins. It’s a gem in the neighborhood.

The food here is probably the best mexican food i had in San Francisco. The burrito’s come with chunks of steak instead of being diced up. The sandwiches are simply amazing. The only bad thing is that they dont speak English very well. So a guy like me not being able to speak spanish had a hard time ordering. I found this place out when i used to work at Jeep across the street. I had assistance ordering the food there. Other than that this place is recommended.

So the«office» orders from here for every training/board meeting/work function we have, and for good reason. So far I’ve really only tried the sandwiches, but… YUM! We are talking meat, mexican cheese, tomato, avocado… just a sammy swimming with goodness. Order the milanesa sandwhich! While I always prefer beef to chicken, the chicken here is delicious!(I like coming and making my dining partner order chicken so we can swap half half… I know, I’m high maintenance). Having just stepped foot in this place today, I’d say it it the typical hole in the wall mission joint. Perhaps a little intimidating if you don’t speak spanish, but well worth it, and with completely friendly owners. The prices here are amazing, and I’m dying to go in and enjoy the specials, which looked fabulous! Great lunch spot… although again, not diet friendly… damn, this diet thing is way hard ;)

An absolute bargain. I had chorizo and eggs and a cup of coffeee for $ 5.00. There was a whole lot of chorizo with the eggs. The beans and rice were excellent, good flavor and well cooked. There was even some decent presentation in the price: a little bit of lettuce between the rice and beans with some queso fresco and avocado. The interior is run-down, so don’t go if you are afraid of places that look a little bit off. They have daily specials that are really bargains. I think the Sunday special is caldo de pes, and it’s only $ 6.50.
