Karaōke device and TV(big square ones) are old fashion, so the search for the songs must be done manually thru a binder that they provide. However, it’s an okay place to chill and have some fun while singing some good songs.

This place is kind of run down with old square tv for the room I had. Speakers sound a little shot. Regardless, good for end of night drunken fun. There are private rooms. Good for groups and stays open until 4am.

Awesome experience. We had so much fun here. They let us move our reservation at the last minute. The room, sound system, and music selection were great.

No-frills is an understatement. To the Korean Karaōke newb, Do Re Mi will look downright shady and oddly stuck in a 1980s time warp. But coming from the suburbs of SoCal, this feels like home and the price is RIGHT. A small room for two was $ 30/hour…So 5 stars! Caveats: 1. You’ll walk in and see what appears to be a giant bite taken out of the lobby couch. I don’t know what to say here. There’s also an office chair next to the couch, equally in bad shape. It’s confusing why those pieces of furniture are even there, has anyone sat on them since the 1980s? Oh wait, this is the 1980s. 2. Ask for help on the remote before your session starts. It can be confusing. Nearly all the buttons are in Korean. 3. Song selection is not as good as the more expensive establishments. They didn’t even have Adele’s «Someone Like You». I feel like I should dock a star for that, but the owners are sweet; they don’t require a 2-hour minimum like these other bougie SF places, and I managed to make a reservation for night of on a Friday night.

I wish there was more new music, but their catalog isn’t incorrigibly old. They are also seemingly ok with you bringing in stuff as long as you’re not obnoxiously obvious about it and clean up after yourself.

This place is fun! My initial thoughts of walking into the room was«CRTTV?! WHATYEARISIT!?» But it actually wasn’t too bad. The song selection is OK, definitely not any of super new ones. Also, there’s a rating system at the end of each song that apparently rates your performance? We kept getting 0.0, must be 0 mistakes because we were crushin’ it! Bathrooms/Rooms are a wee bit jankier than what I’m used to, but for the price and drunken camaraderie — worth it! I totally forgot about my 3 beers in my bag, which I easily ‘smuggled’ in lol.

Came here late one night with some friends. Large room accommodated 12 of us. Decent selection of songs, albeit they’re definitely a bit older. Only frustrating part was working the remote for the system. A lot of it is in another language.

First off, this karaōke spot is open really late. I’m really impressed with the customer service here. They put up with so much, including huge parties of drunk people coming after the bars shut down. I saw the employees chasing down people who forgot to pay on the way out. Beyond that, I feel like we were singing forever. At least an hour and a half. It only costed $ 45! This is FAR cheaper than any karaōke places I’ve been. I definitely recommend coming here. The sound selection is also quite diverse.

Came in late on a Saturday night, and service was surprisingly nice/accommodating to our group, in contrast to most karaōke places I’ve been to. Decently sized CRT TVs with a inscrutable Korean interface, but it’s not too crazy and once you get a hang of it. Rooms are clean, and even if the furniture was a bit beat-up, the small room comfortably sat our group of six. They had a tambourine in our room which was cool for the people in our group for who were a bit singing-shy. Hole in the wall karaōke spot in Japantown. Awesome place for a night out with your underage friends, since they don’t serve alcohol, but they’re located right next to a convenience store, so you know what that means. Price is reasonable.

Our party of 8 had a blast here!!! Yes, the setting isn’t the best, the karaōke system is somewhat old, but honestly, It is what you make it! We called before we came and made a reservation. We had to give a credit card to make the reservation, which was $ 60 an hour. There’s a sign that says«No Alcohol» allowed. But, come one! How can you not smuggle some alcohol in, especially when you’re right next to a liquor store. ;-) The song selection was fine. I loved that the group shared the same taste in «oldies, but goodies.»

Very old karaōke system. You have to order songs from a book of song names while the rest of city is upgrading to ordering song using an app. We went there cuz of its location and the ability to make a reservation.

It isn’t the nicest looking place, and honestly it looks pretty bad. The carpet is torn up and stained and the walls could use fresh paint… and the bathrooms are pretty dirty… But all that being said, I been to the place a few times, and I do always have fun. The prices are pretty good, and my friends and I always get a private room. The remote is in Korean,(thank goodness my friend is Korean) — otherwise I wouldn’t be able to pick any songs. So overall, not the fanciest or nicest place, but it’s affordable and as long as you’re with your friends — it’s pretty fun!

I love this place. Great for hangout with friends. Prices are good enough. They have wide range of song selection. Very nice Costumer service. The only reason I gave four stars is the parking. Do I recommend? Yes!

It’s definitely not the best karaōke place I went to… However, my friends and I had fun and that’s what matters in the end. Pros: Cheap-ish: Since the room cost $ 30 and we had 5 people, it costed about $ 6 dollars an hour. Not a bad price. Song selection: This place had a decent song selection for English/Korean songs. It has more songs than other places I’ve been to and even had some songs I consider to be obscure. Employee: the front desk lady was kind. Cons: The room: It was a bit dirty and the furniture/system used was outdated. I was really thrown off by the small old TV they used. Also, the room was small but I guess that’s the price we paid for so it’s fine. The remote: I think if you’ve never been to a Korean noraebang, it might be hard to use. Overall, I had fun time but I don’t know if I would come back. I think this place fulfills the karaōke craving so this place does its job.

They have a good selection of songs in English, Tagalog, Chinese, and Japanese. Its 80 an hr but a pretty nice karaōke place. We take a big group here as a tradition after one of my organization’s yearly events. 9 is the biggest room in case you need the space. We usually have anout 15 – 20 packed in. But if you’re planning on coming at a specific time, you should book in advance because they get busy on the weekends. They do ask for a deposit over the phone, but usually they just take your card number without actually taking the money until after you leave. Also, they usually don’t say anything if you bring in snacks or water bottles. There is a convenience store right next door though so drop by before going in!

You can make reservations at this place. Parking should be plentiful… well from my experience Japantown is pretty chill on a Friday night. This place is old and the remote and what not is sticky. The room is not a cool fun setting for karaōke but I guess this is the only place you can spend $ 60/hour to sing old ass songs. Their current songlist is pretty pathetic and they dont even have legit songs. Everything is in Korean too so it was defs a struggle. The restrooms here are also quite nasty and run down… Not coming back

Going through the 8 rooms of studios, I hear: «If I can’t have you, I don’t want nobody, baby!» Hey, Yvonne Elliman at this place! My bad, it was my girlfriend. She has the same identical voice as the disco diva. My goodness!

1) They have almost no selection. A good box karaōke place has 10k+ songs per language. This place has maybe 1k per language, spread over decades that means very few songs. 2) They actual music is crap. It sounds like it was all made on an NES or Gameboy. That would be great if I wanted chiptunes but I want to sing, ideally to the original song in the original key since that’s the one I’m used to singing along with.

I love this place. It’s hard to find a place that has all the old and new korean songs I love, on top of up-to-date american songs, at an affordable price in SF! We ended up paying $ 60/hr for 12 people, which is ridiculous for SF standards. They have no alcohol, but… let’s just say management«forgets» to check your bags ;) Big, clean rooms for the price, and their remotes are labeled in English for those of you who can’t read Korean. Highly recommended if you are looking for a good time.

It stinks in here. And it’s not the smell of cigarette butts and soda stains either. I can’t fathom as to how this place stays open for business. The EPA needs to make an unannounced visit cause something is very wrong. Check out the restroom. Disturbing. DIRTYSOUTH Stains on the carpet, layers of dust, and the song book pages stuck together with grime. The music system seems like a bad nightmare from the 80’s. Don’t know if they carry any of the latest songs, but the room prices seemed OK. There are other options around the area, yet the natives choose to come here. I don’t understand that logic. Might be a good idea to venture elsewhere. Especially, where you can get a decent adult beverage to accompany that very sad breakup song that you belted out 15 minutes ago.

Many years ago, as a college freshman, I came here with new friends, some of whom have stayed as long time friends. I have pictures from back then.(No alcohol involved.) Now, I revisited for my birthday. And it was nothing as wonderful as I remembered it. lol They need new carpeting(it looks very dated and dirty), possibly more sound proofing(it echoes in the room) and they need better song selection. They have songs from the 80s, and then all ‘pop’ songs from 90s to present. There’s nothing but pop songs. GAH!!! Price = moderate. Oh, and no, there’s no food nor alcohol here. C’mere when you’re already liquored up to not care, I suppose.

This place is a little grimy, and the set up a little less than polished, but the rooms are cheap and the song selection is usually up to date. Like other reviewers said, there is no alcohol here. Located in Japantown, if this is really a problem, then go somewhere else. Karaōke isn’t hard to find. Neither is alcohol.

I walked in and the first thing I smelled were cleaning agents. Went into one of the rooms and was greeted with a sticky floor, bad quality tvs with 90’s style sound systems. My ears were ringing after I left. Restrooms are like a club after everyone’s puked in it – Unsanitary and questionable. After coming here, it made me miss the karaōke places down in Monterey Park and ktown even more. Again, my ears are still hurting!

DONOTCOME. This place needs EPA to come by in addition to being fumigated. The floors stick like gum and spilled soda. The music albums look like they were slapped in together in a binder during the early 80’s. The bathroom makes BART bathrooms seem clean. The sound systems here suck, not including when your friends scream. The tiles haven’t been cleaned, since STD’s and HIV became a recognized thing. If you sit down on the old couches, pray to god you won’t feel a sting. 50 $ per hour for a small room, with shitty air conditioning. The only thing you hear in your ears, is the high pitched ringing. At one point i thought BART cars were dirty. But then i found Do Re Mi, who gave a new definition to the term shady. I thought going to the gun range without earplugs sucked, i was wrong. IFYOUDONTSPEAKANDCANTREADKOREAN, GOODLUCKUSINGTHECONTROLS. …-_–
