This is a wonderful coffee spot. There was a long line up. I had the pour over into milk and the taste of the coffee was outstanding. Smooth and not bitter. I saw the owners of the business and told them they need to open one in Canada. It is clear that there is some great attention to detail. I overheard one of the workers training and precision was key! I had the waffle and wish I could have had 4 more. This place will not disappoint.

There are a couple of Blue Bottle stands at the Farmers’ Market at the Ferry Building on Saturdays. I picked one and got into the long line. My CAPPUCCINO was excellent and a great way to end my Farmers’ Market outing during my recent trip.

Wonderful coffee. I had a hot latte and my husband got the New Orleans which was a cold drip. Both were excellent!

Always a lot of love for Blue Bottle. Their coffee is just fantastic. Though they have the permanent store inside the Ferry Building, you can find the stand outside on the opposite end of the Ferry Building on Saturdays. This was my first time at the stand since I wanted my coffee now! The line was a bit long, but it moved reasonably fast. The baristas were taking orders ahead of payment to speed things up. I really love the customer service here, they really took the time to make sure they got orders right and remembered who ordered what, that is just not an easy task. Sometimes there might be mistakes here and there, but at least they make the attempt and take it one step further. They’re very efficient in handling the demand, but still keep that same quality of great coffee!

The New Orleans Iced Coffee just wasn’t for me. It was bitter tasting and not sweet at all. Wondering if I got a bad cup.

Fantastic coffee. Waffle blew me away. Malted yeast dough and beet sugar crystallized glaze. I could eat these every day!!! Must stop when in San Francisco

Waaaay overrated and pricey. The coffee is good but, in no way, worth wait or the price. I would recommend they change up their routine to move the line faster. That would definitely improve the experience.

Great coffee, you can taste the quality!!! There are two sides to this stand and the one near the restroom is always shorter! I got their cappuccino and that perked me right up!

I’m also tempted to go two stars on this one, but I’ll round up. It wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t good. The coffee was a touch roasty, which obviously appeals to a lot of people(charbucks) but I was hoping for something a bit more third wave. These guys have become the establishment, and apparently that comes with roasting a touch darker and using a La Marzocco Linea on the line… They do have other shops with more inventive equipment, this location even has a Kees Spirit at the side window, but it wasn’t open at the time I went. In my San Francisco coffee ratings, these guys are pretty far down the list… Four Barrel, Wrecking Ball, Ritual, Saint Frank, Sightglass, Philz, Blue Bottle, Starbucks? or something like that. I do love their Oakland roasting location’s vibe, but the coffee is the same.

Line is long, but moves pretty fast. You’ll be in and out around 10 – 20 mins tops. I love their iced coffee. Smooth with a nice strong taste. There are a few blue bottle coffees all around San Francisco.

I recently wrapped up a visit to San Fran and had to try Blue Bottle after hearing so many great things. All I can say is this coffee was worth the mighty long wait. Real good – one of the best cups I’ve ever had. I wish I had more time to try some of the other popular cafes during the trip to compare. But based on my limited sample, I would say Blue Bottle produces a darn good cup of joe.

The line is sooooooooooooooo long. Not to worry though, it moves reeeeeeeaaaaaaal fast. And when you get to the display case where various coffee contraptions, newly re-popularized in the US but used extensively in other countries, the line gets downright swift! Café Mocha was soooooooooooooo good. Hot Chocolate for kids is brewed at a lower temperature. Hot chocolate for adults is awesomely rich. Drip coffee had no aftertaste. Yes! Service is quick, friendly, and very accomodating.

One of the satellite BBC stands outside during the farmers market. Stand in a line that is a fraction of the one inside and get just as great coffee. I love this place! Definitely get the iced coffee on a hot day but don’t cheat yourself, treat yourself to a cappuccino during a chilly morning. Sometimes the outdoor locations are guilty of running out on stirrers and simple syrup, otherwise, perfection.

This is my second experience at Blue Bottle and not my last. I brought my wife here and she loved the experience and her cup of coffee. Yes it takes longer for you coffee to be made cause they make it’s cup individually. At first I thought it didn’t matter but I can taste the difference and so can my wife! I only wish there was a location where I live.

Solid performance! We’re always in search of good coffee and the folks at Blue Bottle have it in spades. In the space of two days, we tried their macchiato, brewed coffee, and soy lattes. All of the above were delish, but I have to lavish praise on the brewed coffee. I had the Three Africans and it was so over-the-top delicious that even someone with an under-developed coffee palate like myself(or most of us, really) could tell that this was a special thing– it tasted so clean, balanced, and didn’t have a hint of burn to it. Well done!

This globetrotter is once again back home(ish) in the Bay Area for important matters, and no — I don’t mean just food — but of course food is always important! Day one of my weeklong vacation was an exciting day in downtown San Francisco with a fellow Californian from school. I had to pay my dues, as a loss a bet last semester, so our first stop was In-N-Out Burger. It may seem like an ordinary place to eat — but not when you live across the ocean! I decided to be touristy, so we made our way to the Ferry Building for some Blue Bottle Coffee, one of San Francisco’s famous coffee roasters. They have several locations across San Francisco, but I’d have to say my most frequented would be the one located in the Ferry Building(Embarcardero), because there you also have access to Miette’s delicious macarons! Blue Bottle offers a variety of organic, non-pesticide beans, as well as coffee gadgets to brew your coffee just the way you like. They also offer those options in-shop, and I hear the New Orleans Iced Coffee is their celebrity, but I have yet to try it. So far, I’ve had their regular latte, which is a smooth and lightly aromatic. It’s not the strongest, nor the darkest, but it isn’t acidic, and is very satisfying in both aroma and flavor. Expensive for California(or the U.S., rather), I can see why one would cringe at paying almost $ 4 for a cup of coffee, but it’s worth the experience! The downsides of the Ferry Building location is the lack of seating and privacy if you’re looking to have an intimate chat — but it’s definitely the perfect place for a coffee to warm the soul in this always-chilly city.

On Saturdays, during Farmers Market in the Ferry Building, you know darn well lots of crowd congregate here. They migrate here like a flock of seagulls all lining up to get some Porchetta at the Roli Roti Gourmet Rotisserie or some additively bomb ass Chicharrones from 4505 Meats. Equally as addictive is any coffee concoction they make at Blue Bottle. It’s either a New Orleans-style Iced Coffee or a Soy Latte for me. Their main location is inside the Ferry Building right across from Ciao Bella Gelato. Even though that location has two lines, those lines tend to snake around like there’s no tomorrow. So if you’re impatient and smart like me, avoid that location and head on towards their two coffee stands outside the building. One is near the southern front entrance of the building facing Embarcadero. Another one located on the southern corner near the side entrance of the building, usually across from Roli Roti. I don’t know why it is, but these two coffee stands are faster than their main location on Saturdays. These guys know exactly what they’re doing; it’s simple supply and demand. I demand their coffee, they supply it to me ASAP. So avoid the main location on Saturdays and head on to their two coffee stands. Unless you are the kind of person that likes standing in long lines so you can stay connected in the cyber world on your smart phones with your various social media account profile, then go ahead so people like me can avoid staying connected. I’ll drink my Soy Latte and Iced Coffee to that.

I did not try the coffee but it smelled amazing. I ordered a hot chocolate and it was scrumptious. It pretty much tasted like I was drinking(eating) a very high quality chocolate bar. It wasn’t too sweet and had just the right mix of milk and chocolate. On another note, on a Sunday afternoon we waited over 30 minutes in line to get our drinks. Was it worth a 30 minute wait? Probably night but if you have time to chill out it will be a delicious treat.
