Tankless Hot Water Solutions

Armando came out and installed my new tankless heater. He was courteous and professional, and installed a new gas line and water lines for the job. Everything worked out great, no hidden fees, no up charges, just exactly what was first estimated. Best of all, I have endless hot water! Thanks Ted and Armando!

They sent a technician the same day I called for help. Ted fixed our water heater problem right away and was very friendly. Natalie was also extremely nice over the phone when setting up the appointment.

Ted’s great! Used him to de-​scale my tankless and even introduced him to my community HOA to handle my neighbor’s accounts. He’s incredibly fast via text. Does great work, very knowledgeable and takes the time. Competitive pricing and does the work fast.
Saw some negative reviews on here and are wondering if they’re more relating to people’s frustrations with their faulty/​breaking/​broken devices than a reflection on this company…
Would recommend to a friend or family member.

MY ISSUE
A 10 yr old tankless that doesn’t want to heat water consistently. Finally it stopped working with an «error code 99»
THEIR SOLUTION
(paraphrasing) «That error code certainly means you need to have a detailed servicing» Which costs $ 175.
THE RESULT
Hot water for 1 – 2 days and then back to not working, now with a new «error code 90». I called to follow up. Their explanations of what the different error codes mean didn’t make sense to me. So, I suggested that I might just need a new tankless unit and who I assume is the receptionist, agreed. She said she would have the plumber contact me with options. I haven’t heard back.
So, it feels that I’ve spent $ 175 for the pleasure of 2 days of hot water and then no follow up and/​or concern to actually fix the real problem. That’s not very cool.
***Update, I have to report that Ted, the owner, has made contact and did give a sincere effort to make the situation right. Even though I’ve already taken my business elsewhere, I think this goes a long way in saying something about the integrity of this company. Star added.

If I could give no stars I would. The plumber that came out was rude, did not want to answer any questions or explain what he was doing to fix our hot cold crossover. When he left I had pipes leaking and they told me I would have to pay for it because they were old so it wasn’t their fault they were suddenly leaking. They also caulked my shower faucet after doing repairs. While he was still here I found glaring gapes and he tried to blame it on my materials. After waiting the required 24 hours (and more) to shower, I went to shower and the caulk was literally falling off so that there was a big gap between the faucet and the tile. This rendered my shower still unusable because water would have easily leaked through into the wall. They rushed, did not want to help their customers, and were mad when I asked them to fix their mistakes. Never use this company!!!

My Bosch tankless stopped working. Kevin came out and lit the pilot light… a two minute job. I was charged $ 200! I think that’s quite excessive for a simple service call! So, if you’ve got money to burn, call these guys.
Update: Your reply would be absolutely correct except that I was not given a quote on the phone at all! As a matter of fact, I called another service first, and didn’t use them because their service charge seemed excessive… and it was less than yours!

Great Company. Their prices are reasonable. Ted is very knowledgeable and honest about what work is needed for your home. As promised, the job performed meets the code requirements. The worker was knowledgeable, polite, and cleaned up after the work was completed.

I do not recommend hiring Ted Kelly and/​or his employees to perform work for you. First, the contractor did not pull a city permit on my job and sure enough workmanship problems occurred. I called the city building inspector and the inspector verified that the work was not sized correctly and that the work was not to code. Ted Kelly finally refunded me my money after many emails and phone calls. Second, the California State License Board website currently shows Ted Kelly’s license as being suspended. The license number is 809 972.

At the very last minute in an extremely difficult escrow I needed work done on one of my listings. The work needed was done the very next day and was done extremely well and at a very reasonable price. Without their services the escrow wouldn’t have closed. As a result of their service excellence, the repairs were completed and my clients are extremely happy with their new home. Once again, this company came through for me. I cannot recommend their services highly enough.

I own a very busy hair salon in Encino. We were sold and installed what we thought was the top on the line water heater. It has been the worst purchase I have ever made. This thing went off line on a regular bases. You can’t imanagine 30 plus women upset about getting cold water shampoo’s! I called many plumbers to fix this problem and none of them knew how to fix this issue. Ted totally bailed us out of this bad situation! He understood the importance this was to our business and got here immediately. He knows more about tankless water heaters than the technicians that work for the company’s that make them! Ted is the only plumber I would consider calling in the future! Not only did he fix the problem he was able to get the company to give us two new water heaters that I will promptly sell. Any buyers?

This is not a review on this company’s actual services, but just a review of their seeming inability to keep an appointment and lack of communication. I made an appointment to get our tankless water heaters serviced, and made it a point to be home during the 2 hour scheduling window. The 2 hour window passes, but no one shows up. So I call, and am told that the technicians are finishing up at another site and would be done within an hour. Another hour goes by, and then I get a call saying the technicians can’t make it out to my place.
After several attempts, I get another appointment scheduled, with another 2 hour scheduling window. I send a text to the company, asking if they could call me on my cell when they arrive, since I would be working around the back of the house and wouldn’t be able to hear the doorbell. The 2 hour window passes, and no one shows up. I call, and am told that they had to cancel my appointment because they had an emergency job, only no one bothered to call me. Apparently they interpreted my text as telling them I found another company to service our water heaters???
To their credit, the woman was nice enough on the phone, and they apologized and did offer to have another company service our water heaters and foot half of the bill. That is a nice gesture, but I kindly declined. Maybe these guys are good, but just way too busy? I just want to get our water heaters serviced, and wish I didn’t waste the last couple of weeks trying to work with this company.

Ted came by and gave me a very good price for installing a Noritz NRC-​711OD outdoor gas unit. I had purchased the unit with the remote online. The installation was done by Kevin who spent about 4 hours total. I was very impressed by the quality of the work. Thanks for the great job! Love my new water heater.

I am giving them five stars for the following reasons.
1) Ted came out and gave me what I consider to be a very fair price (net cost to me after rebate was 2600 when the estimates for replacing my existing tank were about 1500 – 1800.
2) They did the job two days later in about four hours.
3) The system works great, just realize that the hot water is not «instant» in that the hot water from the tankless heater still has to push out all of the cold water in the pipe.
4) Ted is a really down to earth person and definitely did not nickle and dime me in any way. He also acquired a part for another part of my plumbing system and had his crew help me install it, saving me another $ 200.
5) The install was clean and I love the way the heater looks instead of the massive tank I had before.
6) I like the fact that Ted is local and really know what he is talking about.
7) The system gives endless hot water and I like the fact that I am not heating water all day long just for two showers.
I have only had the system for about a week but so far we love it. If anything changes I’ll update this review, however, I would defintely recommend the system and this company based on my expirence so far.

We needed a new water heater for our home. Being that we also wanted to upgrade we opted for a tankless water heater. As most do, we called around for quotes; we were looking for attentiveness to our questions and concerns, plumbers open to all brands (and not just the ones they get kickbacks from) with honest opinions and so on. After this process, we choose Ted. He was very thorough and patient! He offered us information about rebates being offered that the others did not mention. His personal crew was very respectful, polite to our home and came to work with a positive attitude. They were very accommodating to our requests (though there was a a small blurp with installation). The electrical crew was also very nice (however we did have some scheduling issues).
Overall our experience was pleasant. Ted and his crew were honest, helpful and kind.

I don’t recommend this business to anyone! This company installs tankless hot water heaters. They are not plumbers, they are butchers! I am not pleased with anything they repaired, installed and built. I am still looking for a plumber to fix issues raised after they worked in my house. I don’t think any of the reviews can be real. This people don’t deserve 4 stars! They are expansive, unreliable, irresponsible, unethical, rude and liars. Thanks, Ted & Steve!

I would like you to know that I am not interested in any refund, repair or apology for things you did in my house. Worse experience of my life. Sharing my experience that I have with you is priceless.

Yay my Garage is flooded! Yay my water heater is leaking! Yay I need to purchase a new water heater! Wow that’s exactly what I want to pend my money on. Thank god I found Ted. After a stressful and damp morning we called Ted, he came iver within forty five minutes and explained all f our options. I can’t believe how helpful and honest this guy is. After a lot of thought and consideration we decided to go with a tank water heater. Ted was great, we saved his Number for any further plumbing issues. Let’s just hope we don’t need to use it anytime soon.

I called Ted about my tankless water heater a couple of weeks ago. He gave me an over the phone advice on getting replacement parts. I tackled the job myself after another company was not able to address the issue at the time. I started at 4 pm and of course I ran into trouble. I called Ted twice and left a message after 6 pm. Though I had fixed the water leaks and put the unit back together, I could smell gas every time I turned the gas back on. Ted called me back that night ! He said he had a full schedule the next day but would start early and come out first thing in the morning. What a life saver. He texted me updates on his time table in a. m.
A company in a position of seeing a customer in a desperate situation has an upper hand in taking a financial advantage. Ted came, knew the unit. Called tech support. Was confident, thorough and saw the job to a successful completion. He didn’t try to up sell, wasn’t in a bad mood. He charged a fair price.
Thank You Ted. I’ll call you when it’s time for a new unit, or if I need service again.

I highly recommend Ted, as he has honesty and integrity, qualities that are sadly hard to find these days!
We didn’t get to use him to install our new tankless water heater that we purchased this week, as we had to go with a vendor Fidelity Home Warranty has under contract.
Ted was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the Noritz tankless water heater we had installed, and he was kind enough to come over and take a look at our new unit after it was installed.
The company that installed our new tankless water heater installed the remote control directly onto our tankless water heater. Ted informed us that that was a no-​no, as the remote control was not waterproof and would short circuit if it got wet enough. I called Noritz directly and sure enough, they confirmed that was the case.
I’m still awaiting a call back from the company that did the work to have them come back out and ensure the remote control is put somewhere that it will not get wet and/​or short circuit!
Thank you Ted for going above and beyond for a «customer» who didn’t even get to use you! Much appreciated.
I will definitely be using Tankless Hot Water Solutions to service my new tankless water heater when it needs it!

Ted knows his stuff! He and Kevin came out today to descale my two heaters, and diagnose a knocking noise. They fixed it, the units are clean, and they even taught me how to DIY the descaling to save money down the road. Will definitely use them again.

First of all, I love my tankless water heaters. We had two installed (to replace two giant regular water heaters) when we purchased our house in 2002. One we had installed by Tankless Hot Water Solutions and the other was installed when we did a remodel on our house, by the contractor.
The tank that THWS installed, has not had a problem with it in all this time. The other unit failed recently so I called Ted at THWS who came out to do the repairs. Inevitably, he had to come out multiple times, but only charged me for the initial visit and the parts. He also upgraded the plumbing on both units to meet the current standards (at an additional cost, which I felt was well worth it).
My only beef with tankless units are that you are without hot water in the event of a power failure. But it happens so rarely, it’s never been a problem here.
If you’re going to get a tankless unit for your house, and I strongly suggest you do, call Tankless Hot Water Solutions first.
