Rev. Rebecca was professional, mostly on-time, and was excellent in email communication. She also did a great job with voice, diction, and looked the part. Also really appreciated how she commanded the room during our rehearsal and our wedding, and how well everything was organized. We do have to dock her a few stars because we requested clear changes to the script that she presented to us(changes we mentioned were important to us, especially for translation across different cultures), and she did not use them during the ceremony(instead being verbatim from the website) leading to a bit of an awkward moment at the altar due to our surprise. I would recommend her in the future, but I would be very clear and aligned on the script before the date.

Rev. Rebecca Armstrong officiated our Sept. 22, 2012 wedding at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. She performed our ceremony with flair and enthusiasm, which was exactly what we wanted. She gave us ideas and a first draft for the ceremony and we revised it as a couple and with the reverend to make it very personal. We got some resistance to our non-traditional format from some family members but Rev. Rebecca was supportive and understanding, reaffirming our decisions. She was a bit late for our rehearsal due to traffic but overall, we loved our ceremony and Rev. Rebecca’s energy.

My husband and I live in NH but got married in the Chicago area. We found most of our wedding vendors online, so I wanted to share the good buzz about the people who helped make our special day special. Rev. Rebecca was very good. Many of our guests told us how much they enjoyed our ceremony. And more importantly, it was perfect for us. We had an hour long meeting with Rev. Rebecca during the planning process and then emailed a couple of drafts of the ceremony back and forth and that was really all it took. Our ceremony was very much personalized to our story and didn’t feel«cookie-cutter» at all. Looking back on it now, I can’t even imagine it any other way. I think the best part of the whole experience is that Rev. Rebecca helped us feel comfortable designing a non-traditional, non-religious ceremony, but with many of the elements that people expect to see at weddings. It was something that I was really nervous about beforehand… I didn’t want something that was so out in left field that our guests would feel uncomfortable, but I didn’t want something boring and«not us» either. Anyway, if you’re looking for an officiant who’s friendly, encouraging, easy to work with and able to take your best ideas and run with them, I think Rev. Rebecca is a great choice.

Rev. Rebecca Armstrong performed the ceremony for our wedding July 26th, and our guests loved her. Her personality is effervescent so you have to like that, but hey, who doesn’t want a warm, bubbly personality from the person marrying you. Better yet, she met with us two times to: a. get a feel for who we were b. figure out how we wanted our ceremony to go. While she didn’t necessarily follow the script we carefully tailored using hers as a model, it didn’t matter because in the spontaneity of her words had sincerity and it fit the mood and tone of the ceremony and our guests.
