I’ve been to The Point Eatery twice now when I visit my friend in San Diego. The restaurant is within walking distance of her house, and its somewhere that I want to continue coming every time I visit! We’ve sat outside both times, which I love, although the indoor seating looks nice as well. Outside could stand to have a few more umbrellas and shade. We shared an order of beignets with jam, which was delicious. The coffee is good, the service is friendly, the ambiance is low-key and cheerful. I loved the avocado toast I ordered the first time, and the fritatta I ordered the second. Overall, ambiance is great, food is delicious, service is friendly, and pricing is reasonable. Will keep coming back!

I was looking for a local breakfast joint without a crazy wait time on a Sunday morning. I called and they said a 15 minute wait. When I arrived, I was seated at the bar right away. You MUST try the Coconut Honey Latte. Oh man it was amazing. I tried the breakfast quesadilla and the bacon and cheddar frittata. The portions are large and had to take leftovers to go. Both dishes were DELICIOUS! The service was on point too. I will definitely be back.

Let’s start with the projected wait time that hey told us over the phone for the Mother’s Day bunch would be 45 mins. We arrived and was seated immediately. Service was a bit slow as we did not get our settings until the food came out and the toddler warrior was trying to attack and nearly made a disaster cause she was trying to eat with her hands. Don was an awesome gentleman not only did he shake my hand, he also thank me for my service and gave us a awesome discount and took the coconut mocha off the check cause it took to long to come out. The gravy from the chicken and waffles was very bland and luckily the waffle had its own independent flavor. The chicken was breaded more than actually protein was a minus for us. The malasadas were delicious according to the wifey, but she has not have Leonard’s Malasadas in Oahu yet. She will taste the difference in July and agree that Leonard’s are extremely better. The coconut mocha taste as if they burnt the almond milk making it and was dissatisfying. The Acai Bowl was delicious and very flavorful. This review was initially a 3 star then ended up becoming a 4 star. Thank you for the experience!!!

Decent food but the worst service ever. We got here at 10 and our food didn’t come out til 11. It’s been about an hour and we still haven’t seen our server to get our check. The food was cold and just kind of eh. I would recommend going to somewhere else for breakfast cause this will be an all morning ordeal. The only decent things are the mimosas but the time isn’t worth it.

Amazing food! My kids and I went for brunch on a weekday. The food was amazing. I had eggs Benedict with spinach, tomato and avocado on toast. Perfect. My kids loved their various waffle toppings and flavored lemonade. Our waiter was a great guy as well and made great recommendations.

Pretty interesting eatery here in Point Loma– definitely a change in pace compared to other establishments like Denny’s, IHOP, and the like. The place is nice and clean, decorated very crafty and unique. Stopped in to grab some breakfast with friends. After glancing at the menu, I was taken aback by the lack of selection and prices. Well, we had already all taken a seat, so we weren’t going anywhere, so I chose to try the ham & Swiss breakfast sandwich and the banana waffles. I was concerned that this was another restaurant that offered minute quantities of food for a large price tag, so I was anxious to see what id receive. Let me say, the portions were spot on, and the food was great. Definitely glad I stopped by, and we were all satisfied :-)

The presence of an ideal here in San Diego, and a major step above any other breakfast counterparts I’ve ever experienced. The only detrimental aspect is the lousy parking and entrance being squeezed into the middle of random shops, losing its sense of physical being. However, any external reality is lost as you’re transported into their slick and on point theme. Music fit, scoring an ambience perfect for a morning get-together or a casual embrace of the mere experience itself. The food was stellar for our whole group of seven, and had little wait between drinks. The Mediterranean sandwich I had crumbled everywhere and I couldn’t help but make a mess, but one not of negligence but crisp delight. Banana waffles couldn’t have been better, and to replicate it three times amazed me in their precision for detail and style. If you’re looking for breakfast, look no further until you’ve given this place a chance. The menu had enough variety and depth for their selections with enough simplicity to wrap everything with a purpose. Outstanding.

A bit pricey, but sits well with the area and atmosphere. I came here with an old friend, we drank some bloody beers and ate some brunch. I recommend if you are feeling like treating yourself. Lookout for the Spaceman in the bathroom!

Delicious! We had the Caprese Eggs Benedict — the eggs were a little more cooked than anticipated — but still moist and delicious. The flavor of the pesto hollandaise(sp?) sauce is ah-mazing.

The restaurant is absolutely adorable and the menu is so so fun. The coffee menu is extensive and unique(my friend got a coconut mocha yum!!) and I got some drip(from café moto). The menu is unique and fresh just wish it was a little nicer to my wallet. Such a beautiful spot in the middle of a busy crazy spot in point Loma. Feels like a little mini vacation in the middle of your day. A perfect coffee spot if you sit at the bar!

I got the quesadilla which was very yummy, and was a great deal for I think it was $ 7. It was very large and the only thing is that they don’t give enough salsa with it.

5 stars all day for this place, best breakfast in Point Loma. This has been my favorite spot to bring friends for brunch since they opened. The eggs benedict is out of this world, and every time I go I have to get a lavender lemonade and a macadamia nut latte(the coffee is full of flavor here) Servers are always friendly and I love the patio seating area! Kudos guys keep up the great work!

I ate here with my boyfriend’s family the other day. The food here is some of the best breakfast food I’ve ever had. The space is really simple and quaint. We sat outside in the sunshine, it was perfect. My boyfriend and I split the Mediterranean eggs Benedict and the veggie breakfast sandwhich. They were both so good. Hard to choose which one was better. We also each had a coconut honey latte which was super delish. Definitely recommend

Fantastic breakfast spot that I didn’t realize was in this neighborhood. You could easily miss it driving by as it is tucked in between the dominos pizza and the coffee bean & tea leaf. I tried the sausage Benedict with the chicken Apple sausage. The plate looked a bit unconventional when it came out with a sausage sliced in half over sourdough toast. The eggs were poached perfectly and with a bit of tapatio my tastebuds were on overdrive of delish ness. I opted for the potato pancake as my side which was just as good. My boyfriend and I also wanted to try the cinnamon roll. It’s perfect because it isn’t as bready as a normal roll. It was made with croissant dough which made it light, fluffy and not overly filling. The perfect spread to start off a perfect winter morning

I ordered the Ocean Beach bruschetta which came with spinach, cream cheese, tomato, and avocado. You would think it would all be chopped together served over crispy bread. No, this was an open faced sandwich with cream cheese, a giant slice of cucumber, and slices of tomato served minus the avocado atop a bed of spinach. Pretty terrible.

Having spent a lot of my life in the South, I’ve tried to find some good chicken & waffles in San Diego. After about a dozen attempts, I found this place has the BEST take on chicken & waffles. It’s a pretty large chicken breast, seasoned, breaded and fried, served over a crispy fresh-made waffle, then topped with spot-on pepper gravy. There’s no sausage in the gravy but that doesn’t mean it’s not full of flavor. I’m an eater and this plate had me stuffed. I also tried my friend’s spicy vegetable frittata & potato pancake; both were excellent as well. We will definitely be back for more!

I came here with a friend and enjoyed a nice Saturday brunch. I had the bacon & cheddar frittata with fruit. It was delicious. My friend had a breakfast sandwich. Pros: no wait at 11:00am on a Saturday. Affordable brunch and cute ambiance.

I showed up 2 hours before closing and it was pretty empty. I was seated quickly but waited way too long for my coffee. Also the cucumber water was annoying, I would have preferred a choice. I ordered the special, cheese biscuit and gravy with 2 eggs. The portion was incredibly small and the biscuit was flat, tough, and had a crunchy outside. Not burned so I assume this was how it was normally cooked. The gravy was practically unsalted with a tang that wasn’t pleasing. It just wasn’t comfort food, no fluffy biscuit and creamy gravy. I regretted not ordering a side of bacon to give it some fat and flavor. The eggs were scrambled but overcooked. Finish that off with having to ask for a refill of coffee, after my plate was cleared so the staff should have noticed, and it was just an all around bad experience. I still might go back for the chicken and waffles, seems to be a crowd favorite.

Came here for Brunch on a Sunday. It was pretty busy but we were sat right away at the bar. All the girls working were very friendly. We ordered the Mediterranean breakfast sandwich, the ham Benedict, and the banana pecan waffles. All the food was really good! The only complaint I have it that our drinks(orange juice & latte) came out after our food was served. They didn’t seem so busy so this seemed like it could have been avoided. Not a big deal though, I will be back!

The place is nice, I like how open it feels. Wait for one wasn’t long, got sat at the bar. I did have my discretions about how long it took to be greeted however, or even get my drink. Seeing that I was the only one at the bar for about 5 – 10 minutes. I ordered the watermelon lemonade cocktail, it was really refreshing. Enjoyed the fact that there were chunks of watermelon in there. I, unfortunately, didn’t get the chance to order another drink, but I’m sure they would’ve been just as great. As far as food goes, I ordered the spicy veggie frittata and the chocolate banana multigrain waffles. The wait for the food was a bit long; however, with company, I don’t think you’ll notice incredibly. I loved the frittata and the potato pancake the taste was incredible. The waffle was also really enjoyable. Overall, the experience was a great brunch day for a day to myself. Aside from the occasional waiting, it was pretty excellent. Thanks, guys.

This is a great neighborhood joint to enjoy an easy going and relaxed meal for breakfast or Brunch. Their offerings and service is first rate! We were a large party of 13 and they were able to accommodate us very easily. Props go to Virginia for the excellent service and charming personality! We’ll be back here the next time we’re in SD!

Let me get to the POINT. 5 stars for sure. the point was on POINTFORSURE! cute all white vintage patio, great décor and atmosphere. Blueberry lemonade and the strawberry lemonade is a must. I got the vegetarian caprese benedict and i was so sad that it wasn’t pouched eggs. It was fully cooked. :( lolz. But over great brunch and I want to go back for sure.

I was near passing out from hunger when I stumbled upon this restaurant. I had one hour between clients, so I was looking for a fast, relaxing, healthy option nearby. Sure enough this precious, lil white picket fenced restaurant was calling my name. I’m so glad I enjoyed my lunch here! I sat outside under the sunshine, enjoyed a turkey sandwich with a side of mixed greens and a glass of fresh lemonade, all while decompressing and gearing up for the rest of my work afternoon! Go for it! Great service too! ;)

Couldn’t be more thrilled at this place! Our waitress was sweet as pie, I would be her friend. She was also good at her job. The menu was short and sweet. I was amazed by what I ordered. Something so simple but so dang good, I’ll be dreaming of that croissant sandwich. Price was right. The restaurant was adorable with a nice outdoor area for people and their four-legged brethren. The Point definitely made my list for favorite places to eat.

Finally made it here twice now after living here for 6 yrs! What took me so long? I don’t know, but the BF lives here now and we finally decided to go for brunch. I loved their chicken and waffles. I asked for the peppercorn gravy on the side as others suggested so as not to make a soggy waffle… good suggestion. A boneless piece of white meat, perfectly breaded and fried, tender and juicy. Not a big waffle fan, but this was a good one. I still put syrup on it all as I love sweet and savory together. He had the Benedict, and it was good too. We split the cinnamon roll and that was sweet and tasty. Went last weekend again and I ordered their bacon and spinach frittata, it was pretty good. The potato cake and sour cream on the side really made the dish. Crispy edges and a dollop of the sour cream with each bite… perfection. He ordered another Benedict, the ham one and it was tasty again. We both got their Lattes… delish! Service was spot on both times. A new local fave for us.

Fun little brunch spot! Parking was hard for us but we ended up finding a spot on the street. They have some pretty fun beverage options. I had a great chai tea latte and my friend had a Nutella mocha that tasted like heaven. All of the food sounded great! I ended up getting the Gorgonzola salad which hit the spot. I can’t wait to go back and get the acai bowl.

I have been going to brunch spots in San Diego lately that are touted as the top spots. However, with top spots, you get insanely long waits as well. This eatery is on the border of OB and the rest of point loma(east of catalina). When we arrived during prime sunday brunch hours(930) we were pleasantly surprised to find that there were only two tables full and the parking lot was empty. With dog in tow, we sat at the dog friendly patio. Our waitress came out with the usual doggy water bowl and described the specials, which included two of our choices, corned beef hash for st Patrick’s day and Portuguese doughnuts(malasadas for all you Hawaiians!) The doughnuts were so light. You could tell they were pan fried, not deep fried. The corned beef hash was completely obvious that it was homemade, and the eggs were cooked perfectly to order. However, I would have liked to have some butter or jam available. I didn’t ask for it, though. My husband enjoyed the croissant sandwich with linguica(Portuguese sausage for you Hawaiians again!) The linguica had just the right amount of spice to savor every bite. I did not have any of the croissant because, well, it didn’t last long on the plate! I really enjoyed this restaurant and will be putting this on my regular breakfast spots on the weekend.

I try to stop here whenever I’m in town, but this last visit was pretty crappy. I walk in to place an order to go and I just stand there while everyone is walking past me without a single greeting. I stand there trying to make eye contact with the staff while they’re blowing by me like I’m invisible. I finally get helped(sorta) and I’m waiting at the bar for my food. In the meantime, other people walk in and are immediately greeted and helped. My order comes out and the dude working there looks at me and immediately walks past me and tries to give it to the girl waiting next to me who came in 15 min after I did. Rude. I DO speak English… sorry I’m not blond haired blue eyed. Rarely do I ever feel discriminated against when I’m out, but today sucked. It sucks feeling invisible. Extra star because the food is good.
