Fresh hand made tortillas are the type of treat you only get when a generous Tijuana native takes you to the back alley where grandma cooks for the locals. You wouldn’t believe how the flavor of a thick fresh hand made tortilla can impact the taste of a burrito until you’ve tried it. So this place has the best I’ve tasted in San Diego. Definitely check out this little Mexican shop and grab the orange salsa, awesome.

This taco shop is closed my house, so I went to take out tacos today since there are good reviews. No customer at all at 7pm on Saturday I went, so I was curious if the shop is good as the review. If it is good, there should be many customers on Saturday night. My take out carnita tacos were really cold and had no taste. I ordered four carnita tacos and paid for all $ 17, but the flavor of meat was stinky like left over meat. It’s really disappointing. I trusted the reviews, but the shop is worse than I thought. Unfortunately, I wasted tacos and money that I bought here, and I should just go to Tacos El Gordo first place. I don’t recommend this place at all. Waste of your money though. Update: we ended up sick last night after we ate. I was aware that the meat smells like left over meat.

Green Sauce is delicious. It’s like a garlic, cilantro, tomatillo yumminess. Horchata is awful. Don’t even touch it. Supreme breakfast burrito has eggs, ham, bacon, cheese, fresh tomatoes, onions, and potatoe.

The burritos here are delicious! The tortillas are amazing. They have a great variety; the BBQ burritos are awesome. Also, it is super affordable and the service is wicked fast.

Have been to multiple Mexican places OB. This place is epic. When you go, and you must, do a burrito. Even though I would submit all their food is great the chicken burrito I had was outstanding. The tortilla was by far the best I’ve had and I can’t recommend it enough. Check it out!

Came here after a long day at Sea World hoping to rest and enjoy some good Mexican food! bad idea! I ordered a supreme carne Assad quesadilla and it literally didn’t have any cheese and taste like old tomatoes! And to TOP it off there were FLIES all over the place on our food at the«salsa bar», every where! I didn’t even finish my food because I almost barfed and was so disgusted!

Because when you’re in San Diego, you get a California Burrito. I believe theirs was called the Best West. The thing was huge. Instead of fries, they filled the burrito w/crispy potato chunks making the experience that much more orgasmic. And the handmade tortillas, oh god the tortilla was SO good. They even had those pickled carrots and jalapeño next to their 5 different hot sauces. In short, this is a small Mexican restaurant that appears to make their food with love and is definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.

Awesome. We went with the veggie supreme, it was massive and super tasty. Just be ready to go to war with this guy. He’s like a pocket sized bazooka. This homemade Mexican shop is a little hole in the wall located on the OB-Point Loma line. It’s definitely a must try. Although, I do have a couple minor gripes. Cheese isn’t listed on the veggie supreme description but we had cheese in our burrito. It wasn’t much, but as a vegan you don’t want any cheese in your burrito. The other is the sauce bar doesn’t have enough flavor. The red wasn’t spicy enough, the green wasn’t green enough and the smoked sauce wasn’t smokey enough. Nothing too big be be mad about but I love me some good sauce.

My favorite hole in the wall Mexican place in San Diego! The home made tortillas and burritos are to die for. It is not a fancy place but the food rocks. Plus they also have decent salsa bar and Mexican sodas and drinks like Horchata.

Best burritos I’ve ever had in my entire life! The staff is always super friendly and helpful! I get the ‘vegan burrito’ with beans, potatoes, pico, guac, and lettuce at least 3 times a week! So good!

This clean, little hole-in-the-wall east of OB on Voltaire Street in Pt. Loma makes the best stuffed flour-tortilla quesadillas in the universe. Burritos are not kidding around either. Every day, Paulina, the sweet lady that runs the joint, makes her big, fresh flour tortillas by hand. She uses vegetable shortening, not lard. Everything is delicious, including the house-made tamales and salsas. Everything is top notch SD taco shop style, but the tortillas make a serious difference. Nothing compares.

Huge, yummy veggie supreme burrito! Those homemade tortilla are absolutely amazing. So warm and fluffy. The best veggie burrito around. I’ve been there when I had to wait 30 minutes, and I’ve been there when I was the only one in line. Weekends are busy. Call in an order. Worth the wait.

We went this afternoon for the first time. Small humble little place. It was clean and taken care off. I ordered their carnitas burrito which really really good! My dear friend Dori has the beef enchiladas and rice n beans. Both plated were delicious. We will be coming back for sure, great menu options!

ATTENTIONVEGETARIANSANDVEGANS! Tommy’s serves the best burritos I’ve ever had in my life. I lived in San Diego for 2 years and couldn’t help but come here at least once a week. Their Veggie Supreme burrito is the best burrito I’ve ever had. They make the most delicious horchata, if you haven’t tried it, take my word for it, life changing. They make their own tortillas(lard free) on the spot. They are the most delicious tortillas I’ve ever had. Have I mentioned their salsa bar? They have 4 or 5 kinds, the cilantro salsa is my favorite, but they’re all amazing. Equally as important as the food, the staff is so nice! After moving back to the east coast, I can honestly say that Tommy’s is the thing I miss most about San Diego!

Amazing find in Point Loma! The tortillas! The tortillas! Yes I know that’s what everyone else is saying – but they make such a difference. Great prices, great food, and my new favorite Mexican stand in Loma!

Homemade fresh to order tortillas. Let me repeat that again, home made tortillas. Made fresh when you order. If that’s not enough to get you to come here then let me help explain further. This tiny whole in the wall Mexican restaurant is the real deal folks. I’ve had my taste buds blown away by their adobado burrito and their carne asada California burrito. Although their perfectly charred meats aren’t the best in the area, the fact that they wrap it all up in a fluffy just made tortilla gets the win. Prices can’t be beat here, but the parking could be a little hard on the weekends or late afternoon. But if thats the only thing keeping you from going here, suck it up and walk a bit. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

First time /last time the 2 men there did not realize I understood Spanish, after I paid I was suppose to get back .50 change, I said where is the change he told the other guy I was cheap basically! Rice-no flavor Beans-no flavor Meat– no flavor but some pieces very chewy(poor quality beef?) Any 5 stars must be from relatives or perhaps people that just left the pot dispensary and had the munchies big time!

I was completely grossed out!

A lot of people like this place and rightfully so because the food is good, however a little undersized for me. I stopped in for din and ordered their carnitas burrito with everything. At $ 5.25, it is well priced, but it just did not fill me up( ). The carnitas inside were crispy and tasty, but I little on the dry side, probably because I saw them first warm them in the microwave and then crisp them up on the griddle( ). The microwave is a big no no to me when I am eating out. Any ways, they tasted good, and the small amount of guacamole the burrito had, was a little bland( ). The chopped tomatoes and onions were fresh and had a good flavor, not to mention a vibrant color. I tried both the green and red hot sauce from the salsa bar. The red had a little more heat with a good flavor( ), but the green had less heat with better developed flavor. In the end, I go for flavor, so the green was my favorite( ). They were both good in their own way. Service was super friendly, and I appreciate that they make their own flour tortillas. The flour tortilla was not as butter as ones I have experience, but it was good. More juicy carnitas and well seasoned guacamole would of been great.
