Didn’t actually get to check out the store, the store looked very cool through the security gate. Please update your hours, the store was NOT open on Sunday. Wish I had known before I drove down from North County :(

This place is really slick. Disclaimer: It’s not cheap. For cool gifts, a clever trinket, or a well-​designed something or other this is a sure bet. The girls that work here are very friendly and relaxed. It’s a nice setting to buy things in and the location in the library is prime. You can park in the underground lot for free for two hours. Ask the people that work in the shop where to validate parking.

So well curated + a great place to pick up gifts! I’d come here even if it wasn’t in my new favorite San Diego building. I think I did 90% of my Christmas shopping here last holiday. You’re welcome, friends + family!
Weirdly: even though this shop is IN a library, I actually really love their curated selection of books for sale, too, and have found a few favorites on their shelves (A Tale For the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki!)
Everyone who works here is nice. And: full disclosure, I made the animal-​themed buttons they sell at the counter, so yay for a shop supporting a few local artists! Great place to pick up gifts for culinary minded friends. Every time I come here, I see a tote bag I want, too. REALLY I DON’T NEED ANOTHER TOTE BAG, but ok just one more…

Centron Auditorium is great for music concerts. Seats 350, comfortably. Wonderful acoustics. Modern design with excellent lighting. Currently hosting a winter/​spring concert series. Listening to Nic Gerpe on piano and San Diego’s very own, Pasha Tsetellin on violin today.

This is a local shop that I’m going to keep coming back to. I love all the really cute items such as stationery and cards. There’s also a lot of cute San Diego stuff such as tote bags and even baby clothes.
There’s also books, some adorable kitchen items, and even jewelry. Overall if you want anything cute and unique you need to come down here. This is the place to get unique gifts for people or even yourself.
The staff is very sweet as well. I made a resolution to support small businesses more in San Diego and I won’t have any trouble with such a great store such as this one. I’ll definitely be back! :-)

If you are looking for unusual gifts The Library Shop at the new Central Library is the place to go. The shop is small but aesthetically pleasing with lots of unique and special items ranging from books to jewelry to toys. There are gifts for friends who are literary as well as friends who appreciate local well crafted merchandise. Plus, I have had trouble finding cards I like but at The Library Shop the selection of cards is fabulous, along with too many other items to begin to describe. I always finds something to buy for myself or as a gift when I’ve visit the shop.
