Avoid! Don’t waste your money hiring this fake. Not only does he not honor what he claims, he never answers is phone or return phone calls. I received a traffic citation and decided to hire Robert to represent me and help me dismiss the citation. Months later, not only is my citation not dismissed, I could not get in contact with Robert. Left countless messages and nothing in return. I ended up having to pay for the full citation.

For the nominal fee of $ 90, Robert was able to get a ‘not guilty’ verdict on my speeding ticket (63 in a 45mph zone).
I know that there are lawyers that will show up in court for a low cost fee and just enter a guilty plea if the police office does appear. These types will bank on the odds of the officer being a ‘no show’ and win cases only by this default.

The only misrepresentation of facts that was done in this case, was done by Punta!
Punta apparently doesn’t even know how to check his messages nor to exhibit the sufficient level of math skills that are necessary in order to accurately count the amount of messages that he receives. As I stated previously, he NEVER replied to any of the messages that I had left for him on a daily basis. In my opinion, it’s both very inconsiderate and unethical for an attorney to take a client’s money, represent them, and then not inform the client of the outcome of their case. THAT is exactly what you will get if you have Punta representing you as your attorney. Be sure to look through all of Punta’s Unilocal! reviews and you’ll see for yourself that the lack of communicating any feedback to his clients is a common theme with Punta.
In so far as the quantity and rating of Punta’s Unilocal!reviews, you need to first think about: What is the total quantity of client’s that Punta has represented? Remember, Punta runs a numbers game. That means the more cases that he can represent by going to court at the same time, the less is his average cost per case and the more profit that he makes. Therefore, if Punta has been doing this full-​time for at least eight years and has been living off of clients paying $ 100 a case, how many cases does an attorney need, in order to live comfortably? My guess is that number of cases needs to be pretty high — probably at least within the thousands. Therefore, I’ll let you reach your own conclusion from here with regard to Punta’s remarks concerning the quantity and rating of his Unilocal!reviews.
Since Punta likes idioms, how about this one: even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while — all they have to do is keep wandering around aimlessly until then. Between cops not showing up to court and plea-​bargaining a lesser offense, even the worst attorney on the planet can demonstrate that they have had some successes.
When your attorney tells you that he has «inside information» regarding the strategy that he will use to get your ticket dismissed (e.g., like that the cop will be retiring soon and his plan is to delay the court date beyond the cop’s retirement date), in my opinion, a client should be able to believe that their attorney isn’t just feeding them a line of crap to get their money and then later (after their client is found guilty) tell you «Sorry, but there are no guarantees». Unfortunately, THERE IS A GUARANTEE … that guarantee is that Punta will keep your money, whether you’re found guilty or not! YOU are the only one with skin in the game!

First of all, Robert really know what he is doing, in other words he is an expert!!! But we have to assume that when we hire a defense lawyer… But what makes him an amazing defender is his honestly and loyalty when it comes to fight for YOU.
According to the Officer my violation was: Obstructing traffic code (22 400). Now when I call Mr. Punta I already had the 3 months extinction that the court gives you. So, after telling what happened he told me my options and not to worry about me going to court for the first time. My ticket was due 3÷04÷2015 and he end up getting me a court day for Nov. 20 2015 after pleading not guilty.
Today was court day, I was hopping that the officer wouldn’t show up, but that was not the case. Mr. Punta grill the officer and end up winning the case for me. He was amazing!!! He end up saving me $ 330!!!
Recommendation: Be very detail when telling YOUR story and please don’t lie, have lots of patience, be respectful and NEVER ATTACK THE OFFICER DURING COURT TRIAL!!! lol

Robert is an expert when it comes to contesting your traffic citations. My experience with his institution has been utmost professional. Robert is not the type to sell you his services; he never promised me any result whatsoever. Instead, he laid out his strategy on me DAY 1. He never pressured me to commit to him and he even gave me time to think and shop around. After looking around and comparing his services to other places, I just felt comfortable putting my cases in his hand. Keep in mind I live in the OC and I needed someone I can trust; no way in heck would I want to make that trip down to SD to fight these citations.
I received a speeding violation, courtesy of CHP, along with a fix-​it ticket. Since the car was under my relative’s name, the CHP officer decided to send my fix-​it ticket to my relative’s house. Of course this became a minor problem, because Robert was not able to find that citation (the officer wrote down my name on the ticket but changed it to my relative’s name afterwards.) Instead of giving up or not attending to this matter, he contacted the court clerk to clarify and made sure the citation was properly taken care of.
My suggestion is to ALWAYS file an extension online before handing off the ticket to any attorney, because that’ll push back the court date which will increase the likelihood of the officer not showing up. Even if the officer shows up, Robert will be completely prepared to fight the case on your behalf.
I would definitely recommend his services to anyone I know that needs to fight traffic citation in SD. His pricing is extremely economical and below market. Thank you Robert and I wish to never need your services again. Haha 5+ stars on my book.

Mr. Punta represented me for a speeding trial that I could not attend in person and I was extremely grateful to him for getting me off free and clear.
His sharp argumentative skills helped catch a small slip up by the officer that convinced the judge to doubt his entire case against me and the judge ordered a non-​guilty judgement in my favor. I can’t thank Mr. Punta enough. The best $ 100 I ever spent on a traffic case that saved me over $ 1000 in increased premiums. Thank you once again Mr. Punta!

Giving one because no option to give below that. I am not sure how he got 5 star reviews from other folks, I had issues day when i called him and gave my case (traffic violation). He never calls or responds to email for weeks. There is no one to pick call most of the time his Voice message box is full so you cant even leave message which is anyway useless. In this profession you need someone who is punctual and professional., Not at all happy with the service.

Mr Punta was very responsive and always answered the phone at the beginning and then after my court date I couldn’t get a call returned. I’ve called 6 times over the last month. I just wanted to know the status of my case. Mr Punta was just the middle man in this case because my ticket was outside his area but I feel like a quicker response could have been possible. In the end I did get a message stating my case was dismissed and charges dropped.

Robert is proof that relying on an expert is a really good idea. I got a speeding ticket in July of 2014 and based upon the location and speed the officer wrote on the ticket I was ineligible for traffic school. Since the location and speed were incorrect I decided to fight it and plead not guilty at my initial court appearance. A couple weeks prior to my court date I thought about getting some expert representation. I remember thinking how other people I know who seemed to have strong cases to make either didn’t bother to fight their traffic tickets or just tried winging it in court only to lose on a technicality or because they didn’t understand the court process. If you’ve never been to traffic court it’s a real treat. It becomes immediately apparent that the people working in the courthouse to not give a shit about your inexperience. In fact, it seems they relish the moment you screw something up because it’s their moment to make you feel like you were absent on the day they handed out brains. If you aren’t standing in just the right place or have a quick question forget about it. Get in line, shut up, and hope you have the right paperwork. I don’t blame them actually. I’m sure they deal with a monumental amount of stupid questions and redundancies and after many years of working there it probably makes death look like a lateral move.
I ultimately decided to call around and see if I could find some legal help to represent me on my court date. I called three places and Robert was the quickest to respond and the only one who was willing to help on such short notice. After hearing my story and seeing my ticket he was confident in my chances for a dismissal but cautioned me by saying that nothing is guaranteed. He was right because on my trial date it became immediately apparent the judge did not like either of us and my chances of prevailing suddenly felt very uncertain. Didn’t matter because Robert killed it. Ten minutes into my trial the judge stopped, declared me not guilty, and it was done. Like it never happened. And seven of those minutes were the officer giving his testimony as well as the judge dismissing Robert’s first motion to throw out the officers estimation of my speed due to lack of radar detection. Speaking with Robert after the case he said he had a few more moves he could’ve made after the first motion wasn’t granted but it didn’t matter.
Let me be clear about this, I was not found not guilty because of my speed being incorrectly documented. It was my word against the officer’s and as I previously wrote the judge was looking for any way to render a guilty verdict. The reason I was found not guilty was because the officer didn’t follow correct procedures and the judge couldn’t argue with the lack of protocol on the officer’s part. I wouldn’t have known that on my own. Robert was all over it. I might have had a chance without Robert but I don’t think so. I’m truly grateful to Robert and his expertise.

I first came across Robert about 4 years ago. I had a ticket for doing 125mph in a 25mph zone. I never showed up for the ticket and had forgotten about it. I came to Robert to see if he could help me clear up the matter. He charged me $ 100 and told me if he couldn’t get it dismissed I would get the $ 100 back, unless he saved me more than $ 100 on the ticket then I would get $ 50 back. I have to say I was extremely impressed with the offer. Not nearly as impressed as I was when he informed me that the ticket that I had not shown up for four years earlier was dismissed even though the cop who gave me the ticket showed up to testify. Hands down this is the best investment I have ever made. If you have any traffic needs he is the guy to call. Very knowledgable and friendly. While due to how extremely busy he is it can be hard to get in touch with him at times, rest assured that he is working hard to take care of his clients. I very rarely give out 5 star ratings, let alone take the time to write a review. This one is well deserved. Since then he has taken care of several tickets for my friends and I.

Robert was very helpful with my speeding ticket, while he didn’t get me off completely, he was able to work with the judge and get a reduction of the fine. You’re better off with Robert for any traffic ticket. Highly recommend.

Back in February I got a ticket in Vista for going 84 in a 65. It was almost $ 400 and it would have meant points on my license. My boyfriend saw Robert’s name in The Reader and I gave his office a call. I paid $ 100 and they did everything for me! My court date wasn’t until this September and immediately after they sent me a letter saying the cop never showed up so it was dismissed!
The whole process was really easy and they were nice and professional. If he wasn’t able to help me out, he would have refunded the $ 100 back, and if he was only able to lower the ticket, I would have only paid half.

Even though we didn’t win the case, and for just cause, I’m absolutely impressed with Robert and his professionalism!!! I have to also mention that Robert is genuinely friendly and really nice.. .

Robert Punta is the only place to go if you have a traffic ticket. He will either get it dismissed or reduced or you will get a refund, so it’s a no-​brainer. You can take a day off work to try to defend yourself in court or you can let a professional do it for you for $ 100.
If he he gets your ticket dismissed, he keeps the $ 100 dollar fee, but if you only gets it reduced, you get a $ 50 refund. The best part is that once you call him you don’t have to worry about your ticket at all. He takes care of everything. And he doesn’t just hope the cop doesn’t show up and automatically plead guilty if he does, like many other places do. He actually shows up with a defense for you. If there’s no good defense for your case, he will likely get your ticket reduced.
He speaks to you personally on the phone and takes time to answer all your questions, which, for the price, is unheard of. Most lawyers won’t even give you the time of day for $ 100 dollars, but Robert took a full 20+ minutes to answers my questions on the phone — and that was before I even payed him or agreed to use his service! He knows the traffic laws well and knows when to schedule cases to get the best chance for dismissal.
He wasn’t able to get my ticket dismissed but he got it reduced by $ 200, so my fee to him was only $ 50. So, I saved $ 150 dollars and didn’t have to stress or worry about it for almost a whole year because that’s how long it took to get a court date. After the outcome I got a personally typed letter (along with a check for $ 50) explaining what happened in court, and telling me to call him if I had any questions. I did have a question after everything was said and done and he gave me some more great advice.
Like I said, Robert Punta is the only place to go if you get a traffic ticket.

I searched around for a promising lawyer in San Diego for a traffic violation. After finding Mr. Robert Punta on Unilocal and seeing great reviews decided to use him to handle my case. Communication was great up to the date of the case but after the court date had a hard time getting in personal contact. I called 4 times, emailed twice, left two voicemails. Finally called the court to make sure I didn’t have a warrant for my arrest because I wasn’t sure if Mr. Punta even showed up.
After dropping off a hand written letter with his secretary, finally received a letter explaining what happened. Seems as if no effort was even made to defend my side of the case. Ticket was not dismissed, charges were not reduced and had to take traffic school. I did receive the 100 $ refund as promised which is why I give 1 star, otherwise I would have given 0. Will not be using him again. I am not happy with the outcome and with how I was treated after the court date.

Bottom line: Not going to break the trend here, Mr Punta is the BEST! Went to him for a speeding ticket that I had already disputed via a written trial with another company that was not able to get my ticket dismissed. Robert Punta recommended a trial de novo, and even though I was not able to get my ticket dismissed he was able to get a reduction on the speed so I can now do traffic school and I will be able to remove that bad point. Honest, prompt and professional, it does not get any better!
