Seriously the absolute worst Starbucks I have ever been to! Not the friendly service you normally receive. Definitely will not be back!

Who closes their bathrooms an entire hour before closing? Went in tonight to get a drink before heading back home and needed to use the restroom. They had blocked off the bathroom with the entire straw/lid/sugar station and someone was cleaning the restroom. Before I could even ask the employee cleaning if they were going to reopen the restrooms, the barista with a black pixie cut interrupted the customer ordering to yell that the bathrooms were closed obviously because the«station was there» in a really bitchy tone. Needless to say we left without ordering anything. I’ll gladly take my business to any of the other 500 Starbucks in the area. Thanks but no thanks.

Because of your new rewards program I am giving you poor reviews. If you think we are that stupid and can not see that by changing the program to the amount of dollars spent versus just regular visits take nearly 2.5 times to get a reward… than Miss«Aimee Johnson Senior Vice President, Starbucks Rewards» your a JERKOFF! The People @ the OB location are great but we are going to have to take this as a personal insult by The Corporate Office!

Alright, I’m changing my review from 1 to 5 stars. Since my encounter with that«mean girl«, it’s been really great. I go to Starbucks almost every day and the staff is super nice and helpful. I haven’t seen that E(mean) girl for a long time. This Starbucks location is closest to my home so the most convenient. I highly recommend this location because of the outstanding, courteous, wonderful employees and always wonderful drinks and food!

Although I love Starbucks coffee, because it is consistent and the service is NORMALLY great, I’ve decided to never visit the Starbucks in Ocean Beach again. I live in OB and have tried to go to the OB Starbucks on a few occasions. On each occasion I have had the worst customer service, but I love the coffee so I’ve tried again and again. The folks that work at this location are always more into talking to each other and their other local friends then they are about talking to and helping their customers. On this particular visit, I went in to order a Chai Tea Latte. Before I was even able to order my drink I had to wait for the barista to gab to the two customers(who I believe were friends of hers) in front of me for several minutes. Once I ordered my drink it got worse. After I ordered my drink I waited for at least 5 – 10 minutes to actually get the drink. While waiting for my drink a customer from another local OB store came in and chatted with the person making the coffee about their plans for the weekend. After their long conversation I saw the barista place a drink on the counter but didn’t’ say what is was and continued to talk to their friend. As soon as the person left, I went to ask if that drink was mine, but another local friend came in and again the barista was talking about personal stuff and this person got their drink right away. When this person finally left I walked to the counter to ask if my drink was finally ready and with an attitude he said yes it had been ready for minutes. Their are way too many other great coffee shops(Jungle Java) in OB to go here, even for the good coffee.

We must have missed the normal crazy that goes on in the place, we had a great experience. After spending time on the beach we came in to cool down and grab two iced chai lattes. We also asked for a cup of ice, which they gave us no problem. Young lady behind the counter was friendly, and the bathrooms were clean too.

An update so many years later. This place is horrible. Something has gone wrong that the vagrants of OB have been allowed to make this their indoor meeting place with their obnoxious behavior and language in the confines of what is still trying to be a corner coffee shop. This time, it’s not No Starbucks in Ocean Beach, but rather, No Ocean Beach in Starbucks. The people who work here should get time-and-a-half hazard pay, fur sure.

EDIT: Scraping and slamming chairs against tablew while cleaning to «subtley» let me know you’re closing in fifteen minutes was rude an unnecessary. I was a paying customer staying there to be safe until close. Two stars down to one. Simply awful. Came here to wait for my lady while she was at an appointment down the street. I had planned to have coffee and a croissant, but was informed that they’d already turned off their oven — well over an hour before closing time. No apologies offered. My coffee was fine, and unlike other awful reviewers here, I don’t mind that a homeless person is sharing the seating area with me. He deserves warmth and a hot drink too. I was less than amused to watch the cashier swap from being standoffish and cold to warm and flirty depending on whether she was helping a woman or a man.

I’ve been coming to this Starbucks for years and I love this location. Most importantly rohanna, she’s the friendliest, most polite, and down to earth barista I’ve ever encountered. She makes coming in even better than it already is. You guys are all awesome keep it up!

I go to this Starbucks quite often and then take my coffee down to the beach for a surf check near the fishing pier. There are some real characters and travellers that go in there, but the workers are amazingly patient with them, I don’t know how they do it day in and day out. The hours on this listing appear to be incorrect. It says they open at 5 am. I was there this morning at 5:15 am and told they open at 5:30… D’oh!(Said Like Homer J. Simpson) Free Parking next door with a purchase. The WiFI works well there and is provided by Google, so that tells me it is somewhat secure. They have to keep the bathroom locked because of the many homeless in this area. To use the bathroom, you have to make a purchase and ask for the combo…

This Starbucks really made my morning. I went in for a quick drink before work and the guy in line(in front of me) kept talking to the cashier, as if there wasn’t a line behind him! I was getting a little annoyed but I kept my cool and when I was next, the cashier(JT) apologized for the rude customer. He even offered to buy my drink. His jester was soooo sweet! They really put their customer service before everything. I will continue coming here and I highly recommend this store! It’s also very clean and they are very efficient on time. Two thumbs up! thanks JT

Super freundliches Personal. Die Kassiererin wusste bei meinem zweiten Besuch bereits, was ich möchte. Die Bestellung kam jedesmal sehr schnell und schmeckte fantastisch. Ich komme wieder, wenn ich in Oceanbeach bin.

Chris needs a personality transplant. Not sure about others. Short of the nasty guy at Richmond park store the worst Starbucks experience

Ok Starbucks coffee, male employee with a name starting with C has a super bad attitude. You can actually taste his negativity in each drink he throws over the counter at you. I wasn’t expecting much, it’s a Starbucks, it’s not hard to interact with people like you are a decent human though. Bathroom code is 4536.

It’s right in the midst of all the beach stores and shops. It’s a small store, maybe it needs a good wiping down and mopping. They make the drinks quickly. A lot of bums… Get your coffee and go! Friendly staff, Hanna is super nice! Too bad no one helped her to physically remove a bum who was fapping off in the store! The extra star is for her! Chivalry is flat, but the coffee is not! SMH!

4÷28÷20157:15am. I have never been so disappointed with Starbucks, until this morning. Went in, ordered 2 large coffees, only had a 5 $, 1 $ and 100 $ bill. My order came to $ 6.10. I handed the girl the 100 $ and she replied rudely, «I can’t break that.» So I said, «I only have 6 $,» honoring she might forgive the .10 cents… NOPE! she looked at me as if I was some transient asking her to feed me for a week. Instead she turned us(yes 2 customers) away over .10 cents. Looking like Your Mamas Mug just gained two Starbucks customers.

I stopped in this Starbucks after brunch over at OB Warehouse, to enjoy a Nonfat Flat White and gets some work done via their free Wi-Fi. After making some small talk with the young ladies behind the counter, I ordered and settled next to a window to start on the said work while I waited for the coffee to be ready. It didn’t take long, a few minute, until my flat white was ready, and let me say, the barista who made did an absolute great job. It was one of the better ones I have had made at our local Starbucks. Well done. This location is a very busy one, but the baristas were getting the orders out in a reasonable amount of time. The Wi-Fi connections was good, but it did hiccup a few times, where I had to reset.

Friendly staff but too many bums INSIDE, lingering outside & waiting to use restroom. They need to do something about this. I have no issue with it, but it’s Starbucks. I don’t want to wait in line for my $ 5 cup of coffee being late for work while an endless line of bums are getting their free refills & cups of water. Oh yah — don’t use the bathroom because it’s filthy& someone probably just got done taking a bath in the sink& doing God knows what else. Bleeech.

Bum central. Every time i’ve visited this location in OB there is always a bum using a restroom, or sitting in the corner or just chilling outside of the entrance. Not very pleasant and inviting interior. i would go somewhere else for coffee, there are tons of local small business coffee shops around.

I came here to make a review and I am laughing about all the reviews about the bathroom issues. The problem is not Starbucks it is the other establishments that don’t even have a bathroom. If you are limited on bathroom choices then yes this place will get all the people. My review was going to say«don’t go here if you need to pee from your drink of choice». It is ridiculous and you will have to wait a long time if someone is trying to take a bath in the sink. I would hate to have to work for Starbucks especially this one! Who wants to fight with people all day about the one little bathroom they have.

I remember when this Starbucks was a local coffee house. I remember the outrage in the community when Starbucks announced they were moving in. I am a fan on Starbucks and born and partially raised in OB. When I am back in OB I will hit up a local Mom/Pop coffee shop instead of supporting the Starbucks Corp. I have been in here once and I felt bad being here when there are so many other options to choose from in the area. Outside of this Starbucks you get your local drifters begging for cash but they all seem to be cool if you end up talking to them. I miss OB everyday but I am sorry when I am in town I just can’t give this place my business out of respect for the Mom/Pop places that truly need your money.
